GENERALDESCRIPTION

The DELTA- T is based on a revolutionary, patented secondary refrigerant princi-

pal. It is designed for easy installation and maximum reliability. Water, ice banks

and agitator motors are eliminated.

Comparative in trade tests with equivalent ice bank coolers have demonstrated

power savings of up to 90%.

HANDLINGAND TRANSPORTATION

Always keep the cooler in an upright position.

On receipt, unpack the unit carefully and visually inspect for any damage which

may have been sustained in transit. Record the nature of the damage on the

courier’s delivery note and at the same time inform your supplier.

Correct Safe Handling.

The weight of this unit is such that care should be taken by a single operator when lifting

the unit to between knuckle and elbow height. Operators should be trained and use correct

lifting techniques at all times. Should the unit need to be transported over a distance then

manual aids should be used. If the distance is long and there are specific difficulties and

risks which prevent the use of manual aids then two people should be considered for this

operation.

SITING

The cooler is designed for indoor use only, in ambients between 10°C and 32°C

and should not be exposed to water spillage, spray steam or high humidity in

excess of 90%rh.

· The unit must be sited on a shelf at leased 150 mm above the floor.

· Allow 80mm clearance around and the unit to aid air circulation and keep the

front clear to allow an unimpeded fresh air supply. (Air vents should never

become obstructed.)

WARNING: THIS EQUIPMENT CAN CONTRIBUTE TO THE AMBIENT

TEMPERATURE.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

NOTE:

· The unit should only be installed by a suitably trained person.

· The unit has NO serviceable parts.

· It is recommended that unit is protected by an RCCB.

1. Position the unit on the sound and secure shelf directly beneath the point off

dispense or as close to it as possible. (1 Metre Max )

2. Connect the product supply line to the product inlet fitting, located at the front of

the unit as identified by the label.

3. Connect the product supply line from the dispense head to the product outlet

fitting located at the front of the unit.

4. Sanitize the system ensuring the unit is in cleaning mode, using the switch on

the front panel and practicing the safe methods require when handling sanitiz-

ing chemicals.

5. Prime the system with product.

6. Turn on the mains supply to the unit.( The unit should run for 3 to 4 minutes

and then turn off.) Ensure the switch on the front panel is in the Beer dispense

mode.

7. The system is now ready for dispensing product.

8. Adjust the pressure switch located on the front of the unit to give the required

dispense output temperature.

· Clockwise to go colder.

· Anticlockwise to go warmer.

IMPORTANT.

The wires in the isolator box are coloured in accordance with the following code:

Green and Yellow Earth.

Blue Neutral.

Brown Live

The unit should be connected to the Mains Electricity Supply using the correct

gauge and type of mains cable to a 240vAC 30 amp isolator box installed with a

suitable 30 amp circuit breaker or fuse link.

The Wires in this Mains Lead are Coloured in accordance with the following Code:

Green and Yellow Earth.

Blue Neutral.

Brown Live

As the Colours of the Wires in the Mains Lead of this Appliance may not

correspond with the Coloured Markings identifying the Terminals in the Plug to be

fitted proceed as follows:

a The Wire which is Coloured Green and Yellow MUST be connected to the

terminal in the Plug that is marked with the letter ‘E’ or by the earth symbol

or coloured Green or Green and Yellow.

b The Wire which is Coloured Blue MUST be connected to the Terminal in the

Plug that is marked with the letter ‘N’ or Coloured Black.

c The Wire which is Coloured Brown MUST be connected to the Terminal in

the Plug that is marked with the letter ‘L’ or Coloured Red.

WARNING: THIS EQUIPMENT MUST BE EARTHED

WARNING: THIS UNIT IS UNSUITABLE FOR USE BY UNSUPERVISED

CHILDREN, INFIRM ORAGED PERSONS.

Ways the Equipment should not be used.

This unit is intended for use as a Cooling unit to Cool Beers, Larger and Ciders to

the correct serving temperature. It is designed to be installed in the system

between the bulk storage facility and the Dispense Head with the product(s)

passing through the cooling coils(s) of the unit. There are NO other recommended

uses for this Equipment.

Dismantling / Decommissioning procedure.

· Isolate the unit from the mains electricity supply.

· Isolate the product supply to the unit. (Cellar)

· Vent off any pressure in the product line by opening the dispense tap.

· Disconnect the unit from the product supply.

· Disconnect the unit from the dispense tap.

· Cap off the product inlet and outlet of the unit.

· Cap off the product supply line.

NOTE: The units weight is approx. 25 Kgs, so help in removing it is advised.

Adjustment / Maintenance Requirements.

NOTE: THERE ARE NO USER SERVICEABLE PARTS.

It is not recommended that the End User makes any adjustments or tries to

carries out any maintenance other than;

· Visually check the mains lead and plug for condition.

· Visually check the unit and its pipe work for evidence of leaks.

· Visually check that the condenser grill and air vents are not choked or ob-

structed.

Power isolation method

The unit is fitted with a single phase 3 pin,13 amp plug, fitted with a 10 amp fuse

or alternatively with a standard Euro plug IEC83:1975.

1. Switch off the socket that the plug is installed in to.

2. Remove the plug from the socket.

Methods of Cleaning

NOTE:

ALWAYS ENSURE THE UNIT IS SWITCHED TO CLEANING MODE USING THE

SWITCH ON THE FRONT PANEL.

· Persons performing cleansing / sanitizing operations MUST be competent

and fully trained in the safe methods of use of cleaning / sanitizing agents and

theirapplications.

· Personal protection equipment should always be used.

· It is important that all vents and grills are kept clear.

Weekly: By the end user.

1. Always ensure the unit is switched to cleaning mode using the switch on the

front panel before sanitizing.

2. Clean / sanitize the units product line using a proprietary cleaner / sanitizer of

theAlkaline Hypochlorite type in accordance with the manufactures recom-

mendations.

3. Wipe the units external casing clean with a moist / damp cloth.

Annually: By a competent Service / Maintenance engineer.

1. Always ensure the unit is switched to cleaning mode using the switch on the

front panel.

2. Remove any extraneous debris from the unit or its casing, preferably using a

vacuum cleaner or brush.

3. Check the unit for electrical safety.

Prevention of Freezing

Action required if a freeze up occurs during cleaning the product line.

1. Always ensure the unit is switched to cleaning mode using the switch on the

front panel.

2. Isolate the cleaning supply to the unit.

3. Vent any pressure in the product line, by opening the dispense tap and leave

open.

4. leave the unit until it has thawed out, close the dispense tap.

5. Reconnect the cleaning supply and continue sanitizing.

6. Switch the unit back to dispense mode using the switch on the front panel.

Action required if a freeze up occurs during dispensing product.

1. Always ensure the unit is switched to cleaning mode using the switch on the

front panel.

2. Isolate the product to the unit.

3. Call your service engineer for assistance.
