Please read these instructions fully before starting construction.
PVA or equivalent glue will be required to stick sections together.
Sand paper can be used to gently clean any joints.
A sharp modelling knife will be required to remove sections from the sprue. Please use knives with due care and
remember to cut away from yourself at all times.
During the construction of this model, you may find it convenient to use pegs / elastic bands to hold pieces in place
while you allow glue to dry.
Remove the deck and the other two pieces
shown above from the sprue.
Glue the pieces to the deck (etched detail towards the
centre of the vessel).
Note: They will protrude through the deck by around
3mm.
Turn the model over and glue the lower hull into
place.
Take the stern deck and hull panel pieces.
Insert the lug into the upright.
Glue the hull panels into place.
Take these pieces.
Attach them into place.
Take the fore deck and hull panels shown.
Glue them into place on the model as shown.
The pieces of the prow.
Glue them together as shown.
Fasten the prow to the front of the ship.
These pieces form the four sets of stairs.
Glue the side pieces into place.
Then add the step.
The parts which form the ships wheel.
Glue the axle to the support.
Attach the wheel.
[Optional] Add the centre piece.
Glue the ships wheel assembly into position on
the stern deck.
Using a knife or a large pencil sharpener slightly
chamfer the top end of the 9mm dowel then slot the
lower end into the hole in the deck.
If you want to be able to remove the mast for storage,
so not glue it into place.
Triangular Sail
(For a mast / sail similar to those used by Thames barges)
Slide the piece shown down the mast to the
desired position and glue it into place.

Square Sail
(For a more medieval style of mast/sail)
Take the pieces shown above.
Slide the two circular pieces into the mast and down
to the desired position.
Slot the peg into the hole and glue the two small
pieces either side of it.
Using a knife or pencil sharpener slightly chamfer
the ends of the 6mm dowel.
Glue it to the supports as shown.
