This accessory is normally used in the servicing of

single piece automotive and most light truck tire/wheel

assemblies.

• Push down on the tire oppo-

site demount tool to allow

bead to utilize the drop

center area of the rim and

allow easier bead lift over

demount tool.

Use helper arm (if

equipped) to help push

bead into drop center.

When using hybrid

mount/demount tool,

push tail into wheel

before lifting the tire bead

with the bead lifting tool.

• Push the bead lifting tool

down towards the wheel

to lift bead up and over the

knob portion of the hybrid

demount tool.

• Hold the bead lifting tool

and bead in this position.

• Depress table top pedal to

rotate wheel. The bead lifter

tool will guide the bead up

and over the edge of the

wheel until demounted.

Demounting Tire Using Hybrid Duckhead® Mount/Demount Tool

• Loosen tire beads and

clamp wheel to tabletop.

• Position swing arm until

demount tool plastic con-

tacts wheel.

• Set demount tool to 1/8-

inch to 3/16-inch above

wheel (metal & hybrid).

Position hybrid mount/

demount tool tail to

match curvature of

wheel (against rim).

• Position valve stem behind

demount tool to prevent

damage to TPMS (Tire Pres-

sure Monitoring System)

sensor.

When using hybrid

mount/demount tool,

push tail into wheel

before lifting the tire bead

with the bead lifting tool.

• Insert smooth curved end

of bead lifting tool over

forward end of hybrid

demount tool and below

the top bead of the tire.

• Position valve stem behind

demount tool to prevent

damage to TPMS sensor.

• Lift and hold tire at an angle

so lower bead is resting in the

drop center directly across

from the demount tool, and

is loose below demount tool.

When using hybrid

mount/demount tool,

push tail into wheel

before lifting the tire bead

with the bead lifting tool.

• Insert smooth curved end

of bead lifting tool down

over forward end of hybrid

demount tool and below

the lower bead of the tire.

• Lift bead up and over the

knob portion of the hybrid

demount tool.

• Depress table top pedal to

rotate wheel. The bead lifter

tool will guide the bead up

and over the edge of the

wheel until demounted.

Valve Stem

• Lubricate tire beads

liberally.

• Place tire over wheel with

the hybrid mount tool in

position.

• Make sure valve stem is in

front of bead lock to pre-

vent TPMS sensor damage.

Position hybrid mount/

demount tool tail to

match curvature of

wheel (against rim).

• Position tire so lower bead is

above rear extension (tail) of

bead mount tool and below

the front knob.

When using mount/

demount tool, be sure

tire bead stays on the

rear extension (tail) of the

mount tool (metal & hybrid).

• Depress table top pedal

and rotate wheel to mount

lower tire bead.

• Use drop center of wheel

by forcing down on tire just

ahead of hybrid mount tool,

and follow as tire rotates

until lower tire bead is

mounted.

Mounting Tire Using Hybrid Duckhead® Mount/Demount Tool

• For top bead installation,

rotate table top until valve

stem is just in front of bead

lock.

• Lift upper bead up and over

rear extension (tail) of bead

mount tool; while holding

opposite side of tire down

in drop center of wheel.

When using mount/

demount tool, be sure

tire bead stays on the

rear extension (tail) of the

mount tool (metal & hybrid).

• Depress table top pedal

and rotate wheel to mount

top tire bead.

• Be careful to ensure bead

stays in the rim drop center

in the area ahead of the

hybrid mount tool.

• Unclamp / inflate tire per

your tire changer operaing

instructions.
