LED Status Description
10/100/1000Base-T
/SFP port LED
(LINK and ACT)
• LINK LED: On
• ACT LED: Flashing
A link is present on the port and the port is sending or
receiving data.
• LINK LED: On
• ACT LED: Off
A link is present on the port.
• LINK LED: Off
• ACT LED: Off
No link is present on the port.
Power module
status LED (PWR)
Green All the power modules in position are operating correctly.
Red
A power module is not outputting power. The reason
might be power module failure, power switch turned off,
power cord connection fault, or mains power failure.
Off
• No power modules are installed in the chassis.
• No power modules in position are outputting power.
The reason might be power modules failure, power
switches turned off, power cords connection fault,
or mains power failure.
Fan tray status LED
(FAN)
Green
• The fan tray is operating correctly.
Red
• The fan tray is faulty or is not in position.
Off
• The device is not powered up.
Module status LED
Flashing green
• The module is operating correctly.
Fast flashing green (4 Hz)
• The module is uploading software. If the LED
remains in this state, the module software does not
match the device software.
Steady red
• The module is starting up or is faulty.
Flashing red
• The module temperature is higher than the upper
warning threshold or lower than the lower warning
threshold.
Off
• The module is not in position.
Active/standby
state LED
(ACTIVE)
On
• The MPU is operating in active state.
Off
• The MPU is operating in standby state.
• The MPU is faulty. To determine whether the MPU
is faulty, observe also the module status LEDs.
4 Installing and removing the MPU
CAUTION:
• Wear a reliably-grounded ESD wrist strap or ESD gloves when you install or remove the MPU.
• Do not touch the components on the PCB.
