1. Network connection to the Image Folder
The following steps assume a working LAN connection between the system and the workstation being
used for access, as depicted below.

2. R etrieving the sys tem's IP address

1. Start the cobas p 512 or cobas p 612 system.
2. In the QNX system change to 'Service Extended Menu ► Configuration ► Customer
Configuration' and make a note of the address found in the field 'System IP - Address'.
3. Downloading images via Windows E xplorer
1. Connect your workstation to the cobas p 512 or cobas p 612 system, as shown in Figure 1.
2. Click the Windows Explorer icon to open the Windows Explorer file navigator.

3. In the target line at the top, enter the following:
"ftp://user:password@System IP - Address/../../qs1/Host/"
NOTICE
The system IP address is to be found under 'Service Extended Menu ► Configuration
Customer Configuration System IP - Address' (see Figure 2).
This is the IP address of the QNX computer to which the QS I directory 'Host'
containing the image files is mounted.
User and password conform to the credentials used for accessing
the system's control computer on the service level.
Pay particular attention to upper and lower case letters.
If the service credentials are unknown, ask Roche PVT support for advice.
4. Press the 'Enter' key.
The following screen will be displayed (exemplary):

5. By 'Copy and Paste'. transfer the desired image files from the 'Host' directory into a folder on your
workstation to where you wish to store the image data.
CAUTION
Do not move or change any files or even so much as navigate outside the
'Host' directory! You may inadvertently render the system inoperative.

4. Downloading images via FTP (optional)
As an option, image files can also be downloaded via FTP. Independently of the FTP client being used,
default settings should generally be favored. The Transfer Mode 'binary' should be used as images will
corrupt if not downloaded in binary format.
Within the FTP client on your computer, configure the connection manager with these parameters:
1. Enter the system's host address.
2. Select 'automatic detection' type.
3. Enter user and password conform to the credentials used for accessing the system's control
computer on the service level. Pay particular attention to upper and lower case letters.
4. Determine the remote path: '/../../qs1/Host'.
5. Determine the local path to where you wish to store the image data.

6. Connect to the remote directory 'Host' containing the QS I image files.
7. Once the FTP connection has been successfully established,
save the relevant images to your PC.
CAUTION
