Energy Suspension Spare Tire Bumper Pair is designed to isolate vibration and noise caused by your spare tire. Made from durable polyurethane, this bumper is easy to install and requires no drilling or modification to your vehicle. Simply remove your old bumper, trim the new bumper to the desired length, and snap it into place. OPEN FIRST!
Tailgate Tire Bumper Removal/Installation:
1. Loosen lug nuts and remove spare tire/wheel
from rear of vehicle
2. Remove OE tailgate tire bumper by firmly
grasping and pulling out at an angle
3. Trim your new polyurethane tire bumper to the
desired length using a hack saw or razor blade.
Polyurethane is difficult to cut so BE CAREFUL!
When trimming, be sure that the tire bumper is
long enough to contact the spare tire with approx.
1/4” of engagement for optimal vibration isolation
4. Install the new polyurethane tire bumper by
firmly pressing the small nub into the oval hole on
your tailgate. The bumper will snap in place when
fully installed
5. Reinstall your spare tire/wheel and torque lug
nuts to factory specs
