1. Introduction
The OnQ 19” Custom Rack Drawer, P/N 364566-02 allows the OnQ Structured Wiring System to be easily
integrated into any standard 19” rack system. The drawer can be used to supplement an entertainment center or
as a whole house system at the service center. An optional OnQ Drawer Façade, P/N 364583-01 is available to
increase the depth 1U (1 standard rack unit or 1.75 inches high). The Façade conveniently mounts to the front of
the drawer, providing a clean continuous appearance with no unsightly gaps. Another option offered with the
Drawer is the 19” Drawer Wire Manager, P/N 364573-01. The Wire Manager mounts to the back of the drawer
(on either side) and provides a vehicle for safely routing wires and cables into the drawer unit for distribution to
various modules. A drawer with wire manger is available as kit part number 364566-01.
2. Description
The OnQ 19” Custom Rack Drawer is a sliding drawer unit made of rugged 18 gauge sheet metal that mounts into
any 19” rack system. The Drawer improves rack space utilization by having the equivalent of a 14” Enclosure
inside. The Drawer is 2U (2 standard rack units or 3.5 inches high). The Drawer is a self-contained unit and has
the new OnQ Flex Mount pattern allowing standard OnQ modules to be mounted in various orientations (see
Figure 1).

3. Installation
Mounting into a standard 19” Rack
a. Cabling should be roughed in for the applications planned for the drawer.
b. Select the position for the drawer in the rack based on other system components. Consideration should
be given to weight, heat and how components work with each other in planning rack layout.
c. The drawer is designed to be cantilever mounted from the front of the rack. Simply position the drawer in
its rack location and install the 4 mounting screws provided (see Figure 2).
4. Cabling
Cables for the specific drawer should be grouped and dressed to the back of the rack.
a. The cables should all be identified with clear markings.
b. The cables should be fed from the back of the rack, through the OnQ Wire Manager (when installed).
The cable is then routed throughout the drawer to each application.
Hint: Leaving a service loop of cable at the back of the rack will allow the drawer to be easily relocated in the rack,
and for future upgrades of applications.
5. Finish
a. Install the desired OnQ Service Center modules as per system requirements.
b. Terminate the cable to the modules per module instructions. Maintain cable identification throughout
installation. Adjust the cable and add wire ties or Velcro straps to keep bundle positioned at the back of
the rack. Bundle should be supported at the rack as to not excessively load the wire manager (when
installed).
Note: Only low voltage power leads should be routed through the wire manager (when installed) and into
the drawer. Placing 110 VAC cord in the wire manager may cause interference with the applications.
