Operation

•Neverrunanengineinanenclosedarea.

•Operatethemachineonlyingoodlight,keeping

awayfromholesandhiddenhazards.

•Ensurethatallthedrivesareinneutralandthe

parkingbrakeisengagedbeforestartingthe

engine.Starttheengineonlyfromtheoperator's

position.

•Slowdownanduseextracareonhillsides.

Ensuretotravelintherecommendeddirectionon

hillsides.Turfconditionscanaffectthestabilityof

themachine.

•Slowdownandusecautionwhenmakingturns,

crossingroadsandsidewalks,andwhenchanging

directionsonslopes.

•Neveroperatethemachinewithouttheguards

securelyinplace.Ensurethatalltheinterlocksare

attached,adjusted,andfunctioningproperly.

•Donotchangetheenginegovernorsettingor

overspeedtheengine.

•Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,lowerthe

implements,disengagetheauxiliaryhydraulics,

engagetheparkingbrake,shutofftheengine,

andremovethekeybeforeleavingtheoperator's

positionforanyreason.

•Keepyourhandsandfeetawayfromthemoving

attachments.

•Lookbehindanddownbeforebackingupto

ensurethatthepathisclear.

•Nevercarrypassengersandkeeppetsand

bystandersaway.

•Slowdownandusecautionwhenmakingturns

andcrossingroadsandsidewalks.

•Usecarewhenloadingorunloadingthemachine

•Neverjerkthecontrols;useasteadymotion.

•Watchfortrafcwhenoperatingnearorcrossing

roadways.

•Donottouchpartsthatmaybehotfromoperation.

Allowthemtocoolbeforeattemptingtomaintain,

adjust,orservicethemachine.

•Checkforoverheadclearances(i.e.,branches,

doorways,andelectricalwires)beforedriving

underanyobjectsanddonotcontactthem.

•Operatethemachineinareaswherethereare

noobstaclesincloseproximitytoyou.Failureto

maintainadequatedistancefromtrees,walls,and

otherbarriersmayresultininjuryasthemachine

backsupduringoperationifyouarenotattentive

tothesurroundings.Operatethemachineonlyin

areaswherethereissufcientclearanceforyou

tosafelymaneuver.

•Notethelocationofunmarkedobjectsand

structures,suchasundergroundstoragetanks,

wells,andsepticsystems.

•Locatethepinchpointareasmarkedonthe

machineandattachmentsandkeepyourhands

andfeetawayfromtheseareas.

•Beforeoperatingthemachinewithanattachment,

ensurethattheattachmentisproperlyinstalled

andthatitisagenuineT oroattachment.

•Donotplaceyourfeetundertheplatform,if

equippedonyourmachine.

•Lightningcancausesevereinjuryordeath.If

lightningisseenorthunderisheardinthearea,do

notoperatethemachine;seekshelter.

SlopeOperation

Slopesareamajorfactorrelatedtoloss-of-control

andtip-overaccidents,whichcanresultinsevere

injuryordeath.Allslopesrequireextracaution.

•Operatethemachineupanddownslopeswith

theheavyendofthemachineuphill.Weight

distributionchanges.Anemptybucketmakes

therearofthemachinetheheavyend,andafull

bucketmakesthefrontofthemachinetheheavy

end.Mostotherattachmentsmakethefrontof

machinetheheavyend.

•Raisingtheloaderarmsonaslopeaffectsthe

stabilityofthemachine.Wheneverpossible,keep

theloaderarmsintheloweredpositionwhenon

slopes.

•Donotremoveoraddattachmentsonaslope.

•Removeobstaclessuchasrocks,treelimbs,

etc.fromtheworkarea.Watchforholes,ruts,

orbumps,asuneventerraincouldoverturnthe

machine.T allgrasscanhideobstacles.

•UseonlyT oro-approvedattachments.

Attachmentscanchangethestabilityandthe

operatingcharacteristicsofthemachine.Youmay

voidthewarrantyifyouusethemachinewith

unapprovedattachments.

•Keepallmovementsonslopesslowandgradual.

Donotmakesuddenchangesinspeedor

direction.

•Avoidstartingorstoppingonaslope.Ifthe

machinelosestraction,proceedslowly,straight

downtheslope.

•Avoidturningonslopes.Ifyoumustturn,turn

slowlyandkeeptheheavyendofthemachine

uphill.

•Donotoperateneardrop-offs,ditches,or

embankments.Themachinecouldsuddenlyturn

overifatrackgoesovertheedgeofaclifforditch,

orifanedgecavesin.

•Usecautionwhenoperatingonwetgrass.

Reducedtractioncouldcausesliding.

•Donotparkthemachineonahillsideorslope

withoutloweringtheattachmenttothegroundand

chockingthewheels.

•Donottrytostabilizethemachinebyputtingyour

footontheground.

MaintenanceandStorage

•Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,disengage

theauxiliaryhydraulics,lowertheattachment,

engagetheparkingbrake(ifequippedonyour

machine),shutofftheengine,andremovethe

key.Waitforallmovementtostopandallowthe

machinetocoolbeforeadjusting,cleaning,storing,

orrepairingit.

•Cleandebrisfromtheattachments,drives,

mufers,andenginetohelppreventres.Wipe

upanyspilledoilorfuel.

•Allowtheenginetocoolbeforestoringanddonot

storenearames.

•Neverallowuntrainedpersonneltoservicethe

machine.

•Usejackstandstosupportthecomponentswhen

required.

•Carefullyreleasepressurefromcomponentswith

storedenergy.

•Keepyourhandsandfeetawayfromthemoving

parts.Ifpossible,donotmakeadjustmentswith

theenginerunning.

•Disconnectthebatteryorremovethespark-plug

wiresbeforemakinganyrepairs.Disconnect

thenegativeterminalrstandthepositivelast;

connectthepositiverstandthenegativelast.

•Chargethebatteryinanopen,well-ventilated

area,awayfromsparkandames.Unplugthe

chargerbeforeconnectingordisconnectingitfrom

thebattery.Wearprotectiveclothinganduse

insulatedtools.

•Batteryacidispoisonousandcancauseburns.

Avoidcontactwithskin,eyes,andclothing.Protect

yourface,eyes,andclothingwhenworkingwitha

battery.

•Batterygasescanexplode.Keepcigarettes,

sparks,andamesawayfromthebattery.

•Keepallpartsingoodworkingconditionandall

hardwaretightened.Replaceallwornordamaged

decals.

•Ifanymaintenanceorrepairrequirestheloader

armstobeintheraisedposition,securethearms

intheraisedpositionwiththehydraulic-cylinder

lock(s).

•Securetheloader-armvalvewiththeloader-valve

lock(ifequippedonyourmachine)anytimeyou

needtostopthemachinewiththeloaderarms

raised.

•Keepallnutsandboltstight.Keeptheequipment

ingoodcondition.

•Nevertamperwiththesafetydevices.

•Keepthemachinefreeofgrass,leaves,orother

debrisbuildup.Wipeupanyspilledoilorfuel.

Allowthemachinetocoolbeforestoring.

•Useextracarewhenhandlingfuel;itisammable

Ifyouaresettingupthismachineforuseinthe

EuropeanCommunity(CE),youmustpermanently

adjusttheenginespeedsothatitisnomorethan

3,200rpm,asfollows:

1.Starttheengineandrunitathalfthrottlefor5to

10minutestowarmitup.

Important:Theenginemustbewarmbefore

makingthisadjustment.

2.MovethethrottletotheFASTposition.

3.Usingatachometerandthethrottle-adjustment

screwontheengine(Figure5),settheengine

speedto3,200rpmmaximum,thentightenthe

jamnutontheadjustingscrew.

Important:Iftheenginespeedexceeds

3,200rpm,theengineisnotincompliance

withCEregulationsandcannotbelegally

soldorusedintheEuropeanCommunity.

position,thetractionunitwilloperate

erraticallyandmaybedamaged.Youcould

HourMeter

Thehourmeterdisplaysthenumberofhoursof

operationloggedonthetractionunit.

After50hoursandevery75hoursthereafter(i.e.,50,

125,200,etc.)thehourmeterdisplaysSVConthe

lowerleftsideofthescreentoremindyoutochange

theengineoilandperformtherequiredmaintenance.

Afterevery400hours(i.e.,400,800,1200,etc.),

thehourmeterdisplaysSVConthelowerright

sideofthescreentoremindyoutoperformthe

othermaintenanceproceduresbasedona400-hour

schedule.

Note:Thesereminderscomeonstarting3hours

priortotheserviceintervaltimeandashatregular

intervalsfor6hours.

Flow-DividerControl

Thetractionunithydraulics(i.e.,thetractiondrive,

loaderarms,andattachmenttilt)workonaseparate

hydrauliccircuitfromtheauxiliaryhydraulicsfor

poweringattachments;however,the2systemsshare

thesamehydraulicpumps.Usingtheow-divider

control(Figure9),youcanvarythespeedofthe

tractionunithydraulicsbydivertinghydraulicowto

theauxiliary-hydraulicscircuit.Therefore,themore

hydraulicowyoudiverttotheauxiliaryhydraulics,

theslowerthetractionunithydraulicsmove.

andtiller.

•Movethecontroltothe9o'clockpositionto

transferallhydraulicowtotheauxiliaryhydraulics

oftheattachment.

Inthissetting,thetractionunithydraulicsdonot

work.Usethissettingwithhydraulicattachments

thatdonotrequirethetractionunithydraulics.

Thetrencherworksbestifyousetitcloseto9

o'clocksothatthetractionunitcreepsslowlywhen

trenching.

•Glow-PlugLight
