thejob.Onlyuseaccessoriesandattachmentsapproved

glasses,longpants,safetyshoes,andhearingprotection.

Longhair,looseclothingorjewelrymaygettangledin

movingparts.

•Inspecttheareawheretheequipmentistobeusedand

removeallobjectssuchasrocks,toys,andwirewhichcan

bethrownbythemachine.

•Useextracarewhenhandlingfuels.Theyareammable

andvaporsareexplosive.

Operation

•Neverrunanengineinanenclosedarea.

•Onlyoperateingoodlight,keepingawayfromholesand

hiddenhazards.

•Besurealldrivesareinneutralandparkingbrakeis

engagedbeforestartingtheengine.Onlystarttheengine

fromtheoperator'sposition.

•Slowdownanduseextracareonhillsides.Besureto

travelintherecommendeddirectiononhillsides.Turf

conditionscanaffectthemachine'sstability.

•Slowdownandusecautionwhenmakingturnsandwhen

changingdirectionsonslopes.

•Neveroperatewiththeguardsnotsecurelyinplace.Be

sureallinterlocksareattached,adjustedproperly,and

functioningproperty.

•Donotchangetheenginegovernorsettingoroverspeed

theengine.

•Stoponlevelground,lowerimplements,disengagethe

auxiliaryhydraulics,engageparkingbrake,shutoffthe

enginebeforeleavingtheoperator'spositionforany

reason.

•Keephandsandfeetawayfrommovingattachments.

•Lookbehindanddownbeforebackinguptobesureof

aclearpath.

•Nevercarrypassengersandkeeppetsandbystanders

away.

•Slowdownandusecautionwhenmakingturnsand

crossingroadsandsidewalks.

•Donotoperatethemachineundertheinuenceof

alcoholordrugs.

•Usecarewhenloadingorunloadingthemachineintoa

trailerortruck.

•Usecarewhenapproachingblindcorners,shrubs,trees,

orotherobjectsthatmayobscurevision.

•Readallattachmentmanuals.

•Ensurethattheareaisclearofotherpeoplebefore

operatingthetractionunit.Stopthetractionunitif

anyoneentersthearea.

•Neverleavearunningtractionunitunattended.Always

lowertheloaderarms,stoptheengine,settheparking

brake,andremovethekeybeforeleaving.

•Donotexceedtheratedoperatingcapacity,asthetraction

unitmaybecomeunstablewhichmayresultinlossof

control.

•Donotcarryaloadwiththearmsraised.Alwayscarry

loadsclosetotheground.

•Donotoverloadtheattachmentandalwayskeeptheload

levelwhenraisingtheloaderarms.Logs,boards,and

otheritemscouldrolldowntheloaderarms,injuringyou.

•Neverjerkthecontrols;useasteadymotion.

•Watchfortrafcwhenoperatingnearorcrossing

roadways.

•Donottouchpartswhichmaybehotfromoperation.

Allowthemtocoolbeforeattemptingtomaintain,adjust,

orservice.

•Checkforoverheadclearances(i.e.branches,doorways,

electricalwires)beforedrivingunderanyobjectsanddo

notcontactthem.

•Ensurethatyouoperatethetractionunitinareaswhere

therearenoobstaclesincloseproximitytotheoperator.

Failuretomaintainadequatedistancefromtrees,walls,

andotherbarriersmayresultininjuryasthetractionunit

backsupduringoperationiftheoperatorisnotattentive

tothesurroundings.Onlyoperatetheunitinareaswhere

thereissufcientclearancefortheoperatortosafely

maneuvertheproduct.

•Beforedigging,havetheareamarkedforunderground

utilities,anddonotdiginmarkedareas.

•Locatethepinchpointareasmarkedonthetractionunit

andattachmentsandkeephandsandfeetawayfrom

theseareas.

•Beforeoperatingthetractionunitwithanattachment,

ensurethattheattachmentisproperlyinstalled.

•Donotplaceyourfeetundertheplatform.

SlopeOperation

Slopesareamajorfactorrelatedtoloss-of-controland

tip-overaccidents,whichcanresultinsevereinjuryordeath.

Allslopesrequireextracaution.

•Donotoperatethetractionunitonhillsidesorslopes

exceedingtheanglesrecommendedintheStability

Datasectionin

StabilityData(page6),andthose

intheattachmentOperator'sManual.Seealsothe

SlopeIndicator(page7).

•Operateupanddownslopeswiththeheavyendof

thetractionunituphill.Weightdistributionchanges.

Anemptybucketwillmaketherearofthetractionunit

theheavyend,andafullbucketwillmakethefrontofthe

tractionunittheheavyend.Mostotherattachmentswill

makethefrontoftractionunittheheavyend.

•Raisingtheloaderarmsonaslopewillaffectthestability

ofthemachine.Wheneverpossible,keeptheloaderarms

intheloweredpositionwhenonslopes.

•Removinganattachmentonaslopewillmaketherear

ofthetractionunitheavy.RefertotheStabilityData

sectionin

StabilityData(page6),todeterminewhether

theattachmentcanbesafelyremovedontheslope.

•Removeobstaclessuchasrocks,treelimbs,etc.fromthe

workarea.Watchforholes,ruts,orbumps,asuneven

terraincouldoverturnthetractionunit.Tallgrasscan

hideobstacles.

•UseonlyToro-approvedattachments.Attachmentscan

changethestabilityandtheoperatingcharacteristicsof

thetractionunit.Warrantymaybevoidedifusedwith

unapprovedattachments.

•Keepallmovementsonslopesslowandgradual.Donot

makesuddenchangesinspeedordirection.

•Avoidstartingorstoppingonaslope.Ifthetractionunit

losestraction,proceedslowly,straightdowntheslope.

•Avoidturningonslopes.Ifyoumustturn,turnslowly

andkeeptheheavyendofthetractionunituphill.

•Donotoperateneardrop-offs,ditches,orembankments.

Thetractionunitcouldsuddenlyturnoverifawheelgoes

overtheedgeofaclifforditch,orifanedgecavesin.

•Donotoperateonwetgrass.Reducedtractioncould

causesliding.

•Donotparkthetractionunitonahillsideorslope

withoutloweringtheattachmenttothegroundand

chockingthewheels.

•Donottrytostabilizethetractionunitbyputtingyour

footontheground.

MaintenanceandStorage

•Disengagetheauxiliaryhydraulics,lowertheattachment,

settheparkingbrake,stoptheengine,andremovethe

key.Waitforallmovementtostopbeforeadjusting,

cleaning,orrepairing.

•Cleandebrisfromattachments,drives,mufers,and

enginetohelppreventres.Cleanupoilorfuelspillage.

•Lettheenginecoolbeforestoringanddonotstorenear

ame.

•Donotstorefuelnearamesordrainindoors.

•Parkthemachineonlevelground.Neverallowuntrained

personneltoservicethemachine.

•Usejackstandstosupportcomponentswhenrequired.

•Carefullyreleasepressurefromcomponentswithstored

energy.

•Disconnectthebatterybeforemakinganyrepairs.

Disconnectthenegativeterminalrstandthepositive

last.Reconnectpositiverstandnegativelast.

•Keephandsandfeetawayfrommovingparts.Ifpossible,

donotmakeadjustmentswiththeenginerunning.

•Chargebatteriesinanopenwellventilatedarea,away

fromsparkandames.Unplugthechargerbefore

connectingordisconnectingitfromthebattery.Wear

protectiveclothinganduseinsulatedtools.

•Keepallpartsingoodworkingconditionandallhardware

tightened.Replaceallwornordamageddecals.

•Ifanymaintenanceorrepairrequirestheloaderarmsto

beintheraisedposition,securethearmsintheraised

positionwiththehydrauliccylinderlocks.

•Keepnutsandboltstight.Keepequipmentingood

condition.

•Nevertamperwithsafetydevices.

•Keepthetractionunitfreeofgrass,leaves,orotherdebris

buildup.Cleanupoilorfuelspillage.Allowthetraction

unittocoolbeforestoring.

•Useextracarewhenhandlingfuels.Theyareammable

andvaporsareexplosive.

–Useonlyanapprovedcontainer.

–Neverremovethefuelcaporaddfuelwhenthe

engineisrunning.Allowtheenginetocoolbefore

refueling.Donotsmoke.

–Neverrefuelthetractionunitindoors.

•Stopandinspecttheequipmentifyoustrikeanobject.

Makeanynecessaryrepairsbeforerestarting.

•UseonlygenuineTororeplacementpartstoensurethat

originalstandardsaremaintained.

•Batteryacidispoisonousandcancauseburns.Avoid

contactwithskin,eyes,andclothing.Protectyourface,

eyes,andclothingwhenworkingwithabattery.

•Batterygasescanexplode.Keepcigarettes,sparksand

amesawayfromthebattery.

•Keepyourbodyandhandsawayfrompinholeleaks

ornozzlesthatejecthighpressurehydraulicuid.Use

cardboardorpapertondhydraulicleaks;neveruse

yourhands.Hydraulicuidescapingunderpressurecan

penetrateskinandcauseinjuryrequiringsurgerywithina

fewhoursbyaqualiedsurgeonorgangrenemayresult.

thelisteddegreemaycausethetractionunittobecomeunstable.Thedatainthetablesassumethattheloaderarmsarefully

lowered;raisedarmsmayaffectthestability.

Ineachattachmentmanualisasetofthreestabilityratings,oneforeachhillposition.Todeterminethemaximumslopeyou

cantraversewiththeattachmentinstalled,ndthedegreeofslopethatcorrespondstothestabilityratingsoftheattachment.

1.Starttheengineandrunitathalfthrottlefor5to10

minutestowarmitup.

Important:Theenginemustbewarmbefore

makingthisadjustment.

2.MovethethrottletotheFastposition.

3.Usingatachometerandthethrottleadjustmentscrew

ontheengine(Figure6),settheenginespeedto3200

RPMmaximum,thentightenthejamnutonthe

adjustingscrew .

Important:Ifyouexceed3200RPM,theengine

willnotbeincompliancewithCEregulationsand

cannotbelegallysoldorusedintheEuropean

Community.

Thehourmeterdisplaysthenumberofhoursofoperation

thathavebeenloggedonthetractionunit.

After50hoursandevery75hoursthereafter(thatisat50,

125,200,etc.)thehourmeterdisplaysSVConthelower

leftsideofthescreentoremindyoutochangetheoiland

performtherequiredmaintenance.Afterevery400hours

(400,800,1200,etc.),thehourmeterdisplaysSVConthe

lowerrightsideofthescreentoremindyoutoperformthe

maintenanceproceduresbasedona400hourschedule.These

reminderscomeonstartingthreehourspriortotheservice

intervaltimeandashatregularintervalsforsixhours.

FlowDividerControl

Thetractionunithydraulics(i.e.,thetractiondrive,loader

arms,andattachmenttilt)workonaseparatehydrauliccircuit

fromtheauxiliaryhydraulicsforpoweringattachments;

however,thetwosystemssharethesamehydraulicpumps.

Usingtheowdividercontrol(

Figure10),youcanvarythe

speedofthetractionunithydraulicsbydivertinghydraulic

owtotheauxiliaryhydraulicscircuit.Theowdivider

allowsyoutodividetheowofuidinvaryingdegreesto

slowthetractionunit.Thus,themorehydraulicowyou

diverttotheauxiliaryhydraulics,theslowerthetractionunit

hydraulicswillmove.

Inthissetting,thetractionunithydraulicswillnotwork.

Usethissettingwithhydraulicattachmentsthatdonot

requiredthetractionunithydraulics.Therearecurrently

noattachmentsthatrequirethenineo'clockposition;

however,thetrencherdoesworkbestifyousetitclose

tonineo'clocksothatthetractionunitwillcreepslowly

whentrenching.

cetaneratingof40.Purchasefuelinquantitiesthatcanbe

usedwithin30daystoensurefuelfreshness.

Usesummergradedieselfuel(No.2-D)attemperatures

above20°F(-7°C)andwintergradedieselfuel(No.1-D

orNo.1-D/2-Dblend)below20°F(-7°C).Useofwinter

gradedieselfuelatlowertemperaturesprovideslowerash

pointandpourpointcharacteristics,allowingeasierstartsand

lesseningthechancesofchemicalseparationofthefueldue
