Product Overview:
TBS ISDB-T Quad modulator PCIe Card works as an ISDB-T signal generator. It supports to be fed with DVB
resource, HDMI videos, IP streams or any other digital resources, and then output ISDB-T signal in 4 Frequencies.
For example, you can use a TBS DVB-S2 TV tuner card to receive satellite TV channels and then use TBS ISDB-T
Modulator card to convert these channels into ISDB-T signal.
Key Features:
TS input only (one by layer)
PCR re-stamping
3-Layer (A, B and C) modulator
Configurable Convolutional Rate
Programmable DQPSK, QPSK, 16-QAM and 64-QAM Symbol Mapping
Configurable support for 2k, 4k and 8k OFDM modes (modes 1, 2 & 3)
Programmable Guard Interval (1/4, 1/8, 1/16, 1/32)
Time Interleaving (length from 0 to 16)
Supports variable channel width 6MHz to 8MHz
Full 13-segment ISDB-T modulator
Complex baseband outputs (2 x 16 bits) @ Fsymbol rate

Configure input source:
TBS6214 ISDB-T modulator is designed to convert spts/mpts which generated from TBS DVB-S/S2 card,
DVB-T2/T card, network IP, or local SPTS file to ISDB-T signal. Then you can use ISDB-T STB to receive and
play the channels directly.
TBS Adapters --- Only DVB-S2/S Card supported currently.
Network TS --- HTTP, UDP, RTP supported
Local Files (SPTS) ---
Video format: MPEG-1 MPEG-2 MPEG-4 H264 H.265
Audio format: MPEG-1 MPEG-2 AAC_ADTS AAC_LATM A52 (aka AC3)

Remux and generate the channels into ISDB-T streams
TBS ISDB-T Modulator card has 4 modulators, as long as the first mod is set with frequency, the other mod
will be set automatically by adding its Bandwidth one by one.
The Level number 0-255 corresponds to standard dBm value as the following table.

Modify ISDB-T and Layers Parameters:
Click TMCC Parameters, the following dialog will be shown. The settings should be done before playing
operation.
1. Assign the selected PID to each layer: At PIDs table, click the last column labeled Layers to select A,
“B” or “C”.
2. Partial reception is for one segment transmission, considering the serious receiving condition, such

as low receiving antenna height, low antenna gain and signal level fluctuation, more strong transmission
parameter is desirable, that is QPSK.
3. In hierarchical transmission system, strongest layer is named "A", next is "B".
As mentioned above, in hierarchical transmission system, it is possible to select adequate transmission
parameter according to reception. That means when One-Seg is using, Layer A must be set to 1 segment.
4. The only allowed segment configurations are three of the following:
Layer A
Layer A + Layer B
Layer A + Layer B + Layer C
All other combinations are not allowed and the sum of these segments is 13.
Caution: If the “Data Rate” is higher than “Layer Bitrate”, edit the Layers and PID selected until the
“Data Rate” is lower than “Layer Bitrate”.
Total Bitrate for ISDB-T modulator:
𝑇𝑜𝑡𝑎𝑙𝐵𝑖𝑡𝑟𝑎𝑡𝑒 = 𝐿𝑎𝑦𝑒𝑟𝑅𝑎𝑡𝑒(𝐴) + 𝐿𝑎𝑦𝑒𝑟𝑅𝑎𝑡𝑒(𝐵) + 𝐿𝑎𝑦𝑒𝑟𝑅𝑎𝑡𝑒(𝐶)
5. Maximum Data rate is about 30.979 Mbps for a 8 MHz channel.
6. Each layer can be configured with up to 30 PID.
7. Analysis: analysis the TS that you give to the transponder, give more detailed TS information and you
can set different pids to each Layers.
8. Reset Core”: Change all parameters to settings of TMCC information including TS, the settings by
default value.
9. “Load”: After changing any parameters and PIDs table, please, click “Load” button to make them work.
10. The following ISDB-T parameters can be changed through the interface:
