Connection to Control Units or Peripherals
Connect the pedal to JBC station or peripherals. The connector is identified by the designation
“ P E D A L”.
Connection to AL
Connect the pedal by means of the adpter cablet to the AL station. The connector at the rear of the
station is identified by the designation “PEDAL.

Set the duration
of the activation

the pedal once*.
For continuous
functioning keep the
pedal pressed.
*NB: The same can be applied inversely by continually pressing the pedal and releasing to activate.

Note: Peripheral moduls - MSE, MVE or MNE - are needed to connect the pedal to DMU.
After connecting one of the mentioned moduls to the station a popup window opens.
2. Select the module from the list of peripheral connections. Remember your first connection is
denoted as “a”, the second being “b”, etc. (e.g. MS_a, MS_b,...). Do the same with the pedal (e.g.
PD_a,...)
3. Select the port of the tool you want to link to the peripheral.
Pedal Set Up for DMU (Control Unit)
1. To configure the module MSE/MVE/MNE press Setup in the popup window.
4. Press Menu or Back to save changes.
Once set up, the module settings can be changed by entering the Peripherals Menu .

Pedal Set Up for AL (Auto Feed Soldering Station)
The choosed wire dispensing operation mode will be applied for the tool button as well as for the
pedal activation.
The working mode can be switched to:
- Continous: Solderwire is being fed constantly as long as the pedal or the tool button is activated.
- Discontinous: A predetermined solder wire amount is being fed every time the pedal or tool button
is being pressed.
Navigate throug the menu by pressing , use or to change the value. Confirm the
selection by pressing .

Chip Compoments Rework Process using Tweezers and Pedal

Connections
Connect the stand and the module to to the control unit. The Tool must be connected to the stand.
Then connect pedal P005 to the module.
In the peripherals menu for the “Pedal Activation Mode” choose between “pressed” and “released” for
the pedalactivation mode (see page 5).
The Pedal is frequently used to rework components with tweezers.
The adjustable micro tweezers of the AM120 JBC not only provide a perfect solution for SMD chip
components and small/medium SOP of PCB assemblies, but also facilitate their quick placement and
soldering using the P005 pedal.

Pad Cleaning
Clean the pads with JBC´s desoldering tool
DS360.
For this operation JBC´s desoldering station
DSS is needed.
Solder Paste Dispensing
Apply the solder paste amount needed to
solder the new chip component.
The use of JBC´s DPM solder paste dispenser
is recommended.

the pedal to activate the tool and desolder the
component.
Once the pedal is released the tool enters in
hibernation mode and cools down.

Placing
Do not press the pedal.
Use the tool to position the component on the
previously tinned pad.
Note:
The inactive tool prevents the component from
heating up prematurely.
Soldering
Once in position press and hold the pedal to
activate the tool and perform the soldering.

JBC’s 2 year warranty covers this equipment against
all manufacturing defects, including the replacement
of defective parts and labour.
Warranty does not cover product wear or misuse.
In order for the warranty to be valid, equipment must
be returned, postage paid, to the dealer where it was
purchased.
