SECTION 10 – APPLICATION TOOLS
1 gallon and 5 gallon pails
Mix this product well using a circular motion. Apply with a roller, brush or airless spray. Let dry for twenty four (24) hours and apply a second
coat for enhanced durability. This product is not formulated for immersion.
Two coats are required for complete sealing. Total dry thickness of roof coating should be 20 mils.
It can be applied using a brush, roller, or airless spray.
Recommended Film Thickness: 10 MDFT (one coat) / 20 MDFT total dry thickness (two coats)
Coverage: Concrete surface: 80 square feet per gallon / 7.5m2 per gallon @ 10 MDTF
Roof Shingles: 80 square feet per gallon / 7.5m2 per gallon @ 10 MDTF
Metal Roofs: 160 square feet per gallon / 15m2 per gallon @ 5 MDTF
Wood Roofs: 80 square feet per gallon / 7.5m2 per gallon @ 10 MDTF
Thinning: Not recommended.
Dry time: 6 hours to touch

This sealer contains acrylic resins. It can cause eye, skin, or throat irritation. Do not take internally. Close container after each use. When
spray applying, use respiratory protection (NIOSH/MSHA TC23C or equivalent), eye protection and protective clothing. For more information
read the MSDS, available at Master paints and Chemical Corp. KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN
In case of skin contact, flush from skin with water and then wash thoroughly with soap and water. In case of eye contact, flush immediately
with large amounts of water for at least 15 minutes and get emergency medical attention. If swallowed, get medical attention immediately. For

SECTION 8 – SURFACE PREPARATION
The roof or surface should be free from dust, sand, cement, rust, fungus and strange particles. This can be accomplished by means of a
pressure washer. Improve all water drainage areas where necessary. Old or weathered galvanized sheets: remove rust with wire brush.
Thoroughly clean the entire surface with a solution of household detergent and water. Rinse and let it dry. Replace loose fasteners, old
fasteners must be covered with Master Crack Filler and let to dry 24 hours before apply COLOR SHIELD.
Concrete and Masonry (New Surfaces): 1. All new concrete and masonry new surfaces must be left to cure a minimum of thirty (30) days
for proper adhesion and product durability. 2. If there are several areas with severe water ponding, it is recommended to correct all water
ponding areas with “Master Leveling Repair” and wait at least thirty (30) days to cure before applying COLOR SHIELD. On aspha lt roofs,
make sure to completely remove any oils and grease present. 3. Crack Repair: Clean cracks, and apply “Master Elastomeric Crack Filler”
with a putty knife over the cracks and one inch to both sides. Put the “Fiberglass Patching Weave” on top while the product remains wet.
Apply a second layer of “Master Elastomeric Crack Filler” over the “Fiberglass Patching Weave” completely. Let dry for 24 hours before
applying COLOR SHIELD. Repeat this procedure to Protect the equipment located over the roof top (TV antennas, solar heather, air
conditioner consoles, electric power, water storage tank. etc).
WARNING! If you scrape, sand, or remove old paint, you may release lead dust or fumes. LEAD IS TOXIC. EXPOSURE TO LEAD
DUST OR FUMES CAN CAUSE SERIOUS ILLNESS, SUCH AS BRAIN DAMAGE, ESPECIALLY IN CHILDREN. PREGNANT
WOMEN SHOULD ALSO AVOID EXPOSURE. Wear a properly fitted NIOSH approved respirator and prevent skin contact to control
lead exposure. Clean up carefully with a HEPA vacuum and a wet mop. Before you star, find out how to protect yourself and your family by
