2.1 Purpose
Extra inputs
The Audio & Video input allows to ha ve an extra video and audio inputs.
The board of a composite video and an S-Video input. The on board digital video decoder allows to treat a second video input an d
thereby providing a second video window in the Picture in Picture mode.
The extra audio allows the input of 4 audio sources w hich can be linke d t o any video or data source in the PiP mode. An audio
output allows the connection (of the active audio source) to an external audio processing unit (a
mplifier ,...)

3.1 Removing the lens
How to remove the lens ?
1. Slide the lens door to the left.
2. Unlock the lens by pulling the handle located on the right side of the projector (image 3-1)
3. Remove the lens out of its housing

CAUTION: Never transport the projector with th e lens mounted o n it !
Always rem ove the lens before transp orti ng the projector.
3.2 Removing the back cover

WARNING: Risk of El ectrical Shock: For replaceme nt proced ures p ow er down the projector and unplug the
power cord from the wall outlet. Once the projector is cooled down and the power is off, continue with the
replacement procedure.
Removing the back cover
1. Turn with a screwdriver the cover lock screw A qu
arter turn counter clockwise. (image 3-2)
2. Remove the back cover.

3.3 Removing the top cover

How to remove the top cover ?
1. Loosen and remov

2. Slide the top cover toward s the front of the projector and unplug the connector

Unplugging the IR receiver will not interrupt the IR communication with the RC U sinc e an additional IR receiver
is mounted on the PMP board.
Disconnectin g the top cover connector will also disconnect the airflow sensor mounted on the cover, a soft-
ware controlled warning box is displayed during operation indicating an insufficient airflow.
3.4 Removing the PMP
How to remove the PMP ?
It is not necessary to remove the PMP completely.
1. Loosen and remove the 3 indicated screws fixing the PMP. (image 3 -6)
2. Releasing the PMP the clips at the left corner.
3. Lift gently the PMP to disconnect ti from the board to board connections and pull to the left to release it from the right corner clips.

4. Flip the PMP to the rear so as to free the top of the input box.

3.5 Removing the Input box
How to remove the input box ?
1. Loosen the 2 screws fixing the input box. (image 3-8)
2. Remove the connectors from the backplane (image 3-9)
3. Remove the input box by lifting it.

Following images show the procedure in case of an iQ projector, some images may not always correspond to
the iD projector (for example the input side plate looking different). The procedure, how ever, is the same.
3.6.1 Removing the backplane

How to remove the backplane ?
1. Remove the backplane by disconnecting it gently from the assembly (image 3-10)

How to remove the side plate and the filter ?
1. Loosen the 2 screws (A) on the front pa nel as well as the screws (B) (image 3-11)
2. Remove the filter by sliding it out of the input box, image 3-11
Tip: Clean the filter with a dry clean cloth

How to remove the RGB & Video Input board ?
1. Loosen and remove the 3 screws retaining the input board (image 3-15)
2. Remove the input board by pulling it gently downwards (image 3-16)
Note: Do not pull it horizontally backwards, this can break the 3 light gu ides, the board must be pulled slightly downwards

1. Place the input board (image 3-18)
Note: Do not place it horizontally , this can break the 3 light guides, t
he board must be placed as shown on the image
2. Tighten the 3 screws A retaining the RGB & Video input board (image 3-19)
Tip: Do not tighten the s crews too hard, the input board mu st be able to be repositioned later on (when mounting the back-
plane).

3.7.5 Mounting the backplane
Necessary tools
No tools.
How to mount the backplane ?
1. Mount the backplane on the input board s by placing it as shown and pushing it downw ards (image 3-24)
2. Tighten
the front plate screws

Check the 5 connections between input boards and backplane, the plugs should be well connected.

3.8 Reassembling the projector
The previous procedures must be done in the opposite direction
How to reassemble the projector ?
1. Mount the input box and tighten the 2 screws.
2. Reconnect the backplane.
3. Mount the P MP and tighten the 3 screws (be careful with the board to board connections !).
4. Mount the covers.
5. Install the lens.
6. Install the cable basket
