Guaran tee and Compensation
Barco provides a guarantee relating to perfect man ufacturing as part of the legally stipulated terms of guarantee. O n receipt, the pu rchaser
must immediately inspect all delivered goods for dam age incurred during transport, as well as for material and manufacturing faults Barc o
must be informed immediately in writing of any complaints.
The period of guarantee begins on the date of transfer of risks, in the case of special systems and software on the date of c omm issioning,
at latest 30 days after the transfer of risks. In the ev ent of justied notice of complaint, Barco can r epair the fault or provide a replac ement
at its own discretion within an appropriate period. If this measure proves to be impossible or unsuccessful, the purchaser can demand a
reduction in the purchase price or c ancellation of the contract. All other claims, in particular those relating to compensation for direct or
indirect damage, and also damage attributed to the operation of s oftware as well as to other services provided by Barco, being a component
of the system or independent service, will be deemed invalid provided the dam age is n ot pro ven to be attributed to the absence of properties
guaranteed in writing or due to the intent or gross negligence or p art of Barco.
If the pur chaser or a third party carries out modications or repairs on goods delivered by Barco, or if the goods are ha ndled incorrectly,
in particular if t he systems are commissioned operated incorrectly or if, after the transfer of risks, the goods are subject to inuences not
agreed upon in the contract, all guarantee claims of the purchaser will be r endered invalid. N ot inc luded in the guarantee cove rage a re
system failures which are attributed to programs or special electronic c ircuitry provided by the purchaser, e.g. interfaces. Normal wear as
well as normal maintenance are not subject to the guarantee provided by Barco either.
The environmental conditions as well as the servicing and m
aintenance regulations s pecied in the this manual m ust be com plied with by
the customer.

1.1 Safety warnings
WARNING: This procedure is intended for Barco authorized technicians only.
WARNING: Risk of electrical shock. Make sure that the projector is p owered do wn an d that the power cord
is re moved fro m the wal l ou tl e t.
WARNING: Risk o f burns. Wait until the projector has cooled down for at least 15 minutes before starting this
procedure.
CAUTION: Wear a wrist band which is connected to the ground while handling the electrostatic discharge
sensitive parts.

2.1 Kit information
Introduction
This k it contains a SDI/HDSD I input boa rd which can be installed on the following projectors:
iCon H250
iCon H500
iD H250
iD H500
It replaces the DVI/D15 input board which by default is installed as layer three in the input module of these projectors.

The SDI/HDSDI input board ha s four BNC connectors:
both BNC connectors at the left side are input connectors
both BNC connectors at the right side are the output connectors
Both input conne ctors can have a source connected, b ut only one out o f these two can be switched to the PMP at the same time.
This selected input is then looped through to both output connectors.

The serial digital video signal is deserialized and converted into a 10 bits or 20 bits parallel signal.

2. Kit description
This kit can not be used in combination with the D VI HDCP upgrade kit R9843045
2.2 Kit content
Kit overview
The kit contains the S DI/HDSDI input board, the new fr ont plate and the front plate shield for the projector. Two different front
plates are included, but o nly the one that ts your projector is ne eded.
The s hield will be m ounted between the front plate and the input boards for EMC reasons.

The pro cedure for the iD H250/H500 is the almost same as the pro cedure for the iCo n H250/H500.
In the different step of this procedure the difference between the iD H 2 50/H500 an d the iCon H250/H500 will
be m entioned in a clear way!
3.1 Removing th e cable b asket
Necessary tools
No tools.
How to remove the cable basket?
1. Slightly push downwards the middle top of the cable basket to unlock the upper part.
2. Pull the cable basket o ut of it bottom lock.

3.2 Removing the lens
Necessary tools
No tools.
How t o remove the lens?
1. Support the lens with on e hand.
2. Unlock the lens by pulling the handle which is located on the right side of the projector.
3. Pull the lens out of the lens holder.

CAUTION: Never transport the projector with the lens mounted on it! Alw ays remove the lens before trans-
porting the projector.
3.3 Removin g the rear cover
Necessary tools
Slotted screwdriver 10 mm
WARNING: Risk of burns: respect the cooling down time of the projector before starting any replacement
procedures!
WARNING: Risk of electrical sh ock: before
starting the replacement procedures, power down the projector
and unplug the power cord from the wall outlet!
How to remove the back cover?
1. Use a screwdriver to turn the rear cover lock sc rew a quarter turn counterclockwise.

Note: Unplugging the IR receiver will not interrupt the IR com munica tion with the RCU since an add
itional IR receiver is mounted
on the PMP board.
3.5 Removing the PMP
To install this input upgrade kit, it is not n ecessary to comple
tely remove the PMP. The input m odule can be
made accessible by disconnect ing the P MP partially and just ipping it over.

1. Remove the pixel map processor (PM P) Se e the concerning chapter.
2. Loosen the two screws xing the input m odule (use a long screwdriver).
