WARNING: Be sure that the projector is powered down and that the power cord is removed from the wall

outlet.

The S DI kit allows to add an SDI input/output (loop through) module on the input panel of the projector, hereby adding a third layer

to the input section.

The on board digital SDI “decoder” allows to treat a second video input and thereby providing a second video window in th

The procedure is valid for iQ and iD series. Some images may differ but procedure remains the same.

3.1 Removing the lens

How to remove the lens ?

1. Slide the lens door to the left.

2. Unlock the lens by pulling the handle located on the right side of the projector (image 3-1)

3. Remove the lens out of its housing

CAUTION: Never transport the projector with th e lens mounted o n it !

Always rem ove the lens before transp orti ng the projector.

3.2 Removing the back cover

WARNING: Risk of Electrical Shock: For replacement procedures power down the projector and unplug the

power cord from the wall outlet. Once the proje

ctor is cooled down a nd th e power is off, continue with the

replacement procedure.

Removing the back cover

1. Turn with a screwdriver the cover lock screw A quarter turn counter clockwise. (image 3-2)

2. Remove the back cover.

3.3 Removing the top cover

How to remove the top cover ?

1. Loosen and remov

2. Slide the top cover to ward s the front of the projector and unplug the connector

3. Remove the top cover

Unplugging the IR receiver will not interrupt the IRcommunication with theRCUsinceanadditional IR receiver

is mounted on the PMP board.

Disconnectin g the top cover connector will also disconnect the airflow sensor mounted on the cover, a soft-

ware controlled warning box is displayed during operation indicating an insufficient airflow.

3.4 Removing the PMP

How to remove the PMP ?

It is not necessary to remove the PMP completely.

1. Loosen and rem ove the 3 indicated screws fixing the PMP. (image 3-6)

2. Releasing the PMP the clips at the left corner.

3. Lift gently the PMP to disconnect ti from the board to board connections and pull to the left to release it from the right corner c lips.

4. Flip the PMP to the rear so as to free the top of the input box.

3.5 Removing the Input box

How to remove the input box ?

1. Loosen the 2 screws fixing the input box. (imag e 3-8)

2. Remove the connectors from the backplane (image 3-9)

3. Remove the input box by lifting it.

3.6 Disassembling the Input box

Following images show the procedure in case of an iQ projector, some images may not always correspond to

the iD projector (for ex ample the input side pl ate looking different). The proce du re , however, is the sam e.

3.6.1 Removing the backplane

1. Remove the backplane by disconnecting it gen tly from the assembly (image 3-10)

3.6.2 Removing the side plate and the f ilter

How to remove the side plate and the filter ?

1. Loosen the 2 screws (A) on the front panel as well as the screws (B) (image 3-11)

2. Remove the filter by sliding it out of the input box, image 3-11

Tip: Clean the filter with a dry clean cloth

1. Loosen the 6 screws of the input board (layer 2) and remove this board (image 3-13)

How to remove the RGB & Video Input board ?

1. Loosen and remove th e 3 screws retaining the input board (image 3-15)

2. Remove the input board by pulling it gently downwards (image 3-16)

Note: Do not pull it horizontally backwards, this can break the 3 light gu ides, the board must be pulled slightly downwards

3.7.2 Mounting the RGB & Video input board (Layer 1)

How to mount the RGB & Video input board ?

1. Place the input board (image 3-18)

Note: Do not place it horizontally , this can break the 3 light guides, the board must be place d as shown on the image

2. Tighten the 3 screws retaining the RGB & Video input board (image 3-1 9)

1. Place the second input board on the seco nd layer (image 3-20)

How to mount the SDI board ?

1. Place the SDI board in the third layer slot

2. Tighten the screw (image 3-22)

Tip: Do not tighten the s crews too hard, the input board mu st be able to be repositioned later on (when mounting the back-

plane).

3. Tighten the 3 screws retaining the input boards (image 3-23 )

3.7.5 Mounting the backplane

unt the backplane ?

1. Mount the ba ckplane on the input boards by placing it as shown a nd pushing it downwards (image 3-24)

2. Tighten the front plate screws

3.8 Reassembling the projector

The previous procedures must be done in the opposite direction

How to reassemble the projector ?

1. Mount the input box and tighten the 2 screws.

2. Reconnect the backplane.

3. Mount the PMP and tighten the 3 screws (be careful with the board to board connections !).

4. Mount the covers.

5. Install t he lens.

6. Install the cable basket
