SAFETY REMARKS
Read and understand the safety remarks and guidelines in the (full) Instruction
Manual of this UPS before attempting any switching operations.
REQUIREMENTS FOR PREPARATION OF THE POWER
SUPPLY AND RECEIVER SYSTEM
A) Shipping requirements.
CAUTION! Extreme caution is required during shipping, unloading and
installation of the devices.
Transport the UPS units in the upright position as indicated on the packaging.
Protect the devices against weather (i.e. protect from rain).
Prolonged shipping or storage below 0
C and/or above 25
C is NOT
recommended due to the battery life and the condensation hazard.
The devices are heavy and large. This require proper transport and handling
facilities (an adequate number of helpers, a forklift truck and properly
dimensioned handling routes).
CAUTION! Contact the Technical Service if any damage is found that
may affect proper performance of the devices.
B) Location
CAUTION! Selection of the installation site and assurance of proper
operating conditions for the devices are the user's responsibility.
Install the UPS units in a separate room (to isolate the constant noise during
operation and protect the devices from unauthorised access).
Do not expose the devices to extreme (high and/or low) temperatures. Extreme
temperatures may shorten the battery life (the optimum temperature range is +18
to +25 ºC).
Do not install the devices in rooms with dusty, corrosive and/or flammable
atmosphere or where the atmospheric humidity is high (the recommended
humidity is 90% without condensation).
If the devices are installed on false/technical access floors, consider the structural
strength of the installation location.

The base structure must prevent collapsing under the weight of devices.
Do not cover any ventilation openings of the devices.
Leave the following service clearances around the devices:
- 0.5 m from each side if the device is not fixed to the base;
- 1.0 m from each side if the device is fixed to the base.
Ensure proper ventilation of the room where the batteries are installed (this also
applies to units with integrated batteries).
CAUTION! Required air flow venting room

C) Power supply and receiver systems
The systems shall be designed and erected only by properly licensed and
qualified personnel.
CAUTION! The user shall ensure that the electrocution protection
system meets the applicable requirements of local laws.
CAUTION! Do not connect the PE line to the UPS units with copper
cable tips.
The power supply and receiver lines of the UPS units shall be isolated.
It is recommended to specifically mark/label the connection outlets to distinguish
those of the isolated UPS network from the mains system outlets.
Connect the UPS units to the nearest mains switching board with copper wires in
reinforced shields (e.g. coated cables) or assure an equivalent level of
mechanical protection by applying other engineering measures (e.g. cable trays
or pipes).
CAUTION! Only the Authorised Technical Service may connect the
device to the system and commission it. Otherwise the warranty shall be
void.

The selection of safeguards, wire sizes and disconnector and isolation devices for
installation at the UPS switching room are shown in the installation guidelines
tables.
It is recommended to install an external bypass system (for the service bypass)
the topology of which matches the connection diagram of the UPS (see the
instruction manual for the external bypass system) for operating and maintenance
purposes. The bypass system will enable servicing and maintenance of the
devices without power interruptions.
The connection system shall be 3 or 5-wire, depending on the UPS model.
CAUTION! Once the connection system has been erected, suitable
verification measurements shall be carried out on the responsibility of
the device buyer.

INSTALLATION GUIDELINES
Consider the device weight when choosing the installation site. The UPS units shall
only be operated in rooms where the dust, temperature, and humidity levels are
within the device specifications. Appropriate cooling conditions must be ensured for
the UPS units to work properly. For this reason, the ventilation openings of the UPS
units must be kept clear and open at all times, and the clearance between each UPS
unit and other objects shall not be less than 30 cm (see Table 1 for the minimum
requirements).
The parameters relevant to the installation guidelines for specific UPS models are
shown in Table 1.
CAUTION! It is forbidden to install the appliance near flammable
materials!
Once the devices have been positioned, use additional two assembly fixtures per
each UPS to increase its mechanical stability. To do this, loosen the four (4) M8 bolts
located in the central bottom part of the device. Locate the fixtures carefully and
fasten them to the device with the previously removed bolts (see the UPS Instruction
Manual).

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
Prepare the electrical system for the UPS units in a parallel / reduntant system
according to the diagram shown in Fig. 1.
* If a non-original module is used, install a 100 A / 440 V DC fuse on the positive and negative lines.

CAUTION! The UPS input and output wires (marked "A" in Fig. 1) shall
be of identical length and size (cross-section) for all UPS units in the
parallel/redundant system.
CAUTION! The disconnection devices Fb and Fout (Fig. 1) must be of
the same brand and type for each UPS in the parallel/redundant system.
CAUTION! In order to assure data communication between the UPS
devices in the parallel/redundant system, connect the UPS units with
telecom lines (an STP 4x2x0.5 cable) in a loop (over the
COMMUNICATION BUS socket on the UPS back panel). Keep the
cables as short as possible.
Install the switch fuse Fb only if the POWERLINE GREEN 33 LITE UPS units have
the optional BYPASS input.
The list of safeguards and wire sizes used in specific locations for specific system
power outputs is shown in Table 2.

CAUTION! Use LgY wires for the UPS cables
CAUTION! Follow the phase rotation order when collecting the power
supply line. This applies to all components of the BYPASS switchboard
and the UPS connection.
This UPS has been designed for operation in TN systems
The exact requirements are specified for a local UPS switching
room located directly at the device. Follow the applicable local
requirements when selecting the wire sizes.
CAUTION! Only trained personnel may switch power to the external
bypass system. Switching operations carried out against this procedure
may result in damage to the UPS. The external bypass system operation
is described in a separate documentation, "Instruction manual for the
bypass system of the POWERLINE GREEN 33 LITE UPS units in
parallel operation".

CONNECTING THE CONTROL AND SIGNAL LINES
The POWERLINE GREEN 33 LITE UPS units have control inputs and programmable
outputs. The connection with these lines is shown with the diagrams in Fig. 2, and
the intended use of the lines is explained in the POWERLINE GREEN 33 LITE UPS
Instruction Manual.

COMMUNICATION BUS
In order to assure data communication between the UPS devices in the
parallel/redundant system, connect the UPS units with telecom lines (an STP
4x2x0.5 cable) with the diagrams in Fig. 3

TECHNICAL ACCEPTANCE
In order to commission the installed device for operation, do the following in witness
of a person authorised for technical acceptance:
Measure the battery voltage.
Measure the output voltage in the mains operating mode.
Test the UPS switching from mains to batteries without interruption of the load
power supply (if possible, test at the target load of the UPS circuit).
Measure the output voltage in the battery operating mode.
If a bypass is installed, train the personnel designated by the buyer in the bypass
operation.
Confirm the completed technical acceptance with the acceptance report and
release the necessary documentation (i.e. the warranty and the Instruction
Manual) to the buyer.
