WHY IS IT IMPORTANT TO CLEAN LASER EYE
PROTECTION PRODUCTS?
Remove sweat, oils from your face or hands (or
any other chemicals or products our equipment
may have come into contact with – sunscreen, hair
products, and other dust & debris)
If a user doesn't regularly clean their laser eye
protection products, they can compromise their
vision (which can compromise a mission), or lead to
scratches and damage on the lenses themselves
HOW SHOULD I CLEAN MY LASER EYE
PROTECTION PRODUCTS?
Rinse the lens with tap water gently to remove any
dirt or loose objects from the lens
Blot the lens dry with a soft microfiber cloth to
remove any smudges (better to blot the lens with
a microfiber cloth to remove the moisture or allow
to air dry)
If a user has an anti-fog lens surface (like on the
Riot/ Breaching or STEP-IN
®
Visors), the lenses
should always be cleaned with moisture and a
soft cloth
WHEN SHOULD I CLEAN MY LASER EYE
PROTECTION PRODUCTS?
It’s a good idea to clean after use, depending on
activity and/or before you store your gear

WHAT SHOULD I AVOID WHEN CLEANING
MY LASER EYE PROTECTION PRODUCTS?
Household cleaning solutions (a small amount of
rubbing alcohol is ok)
Vigorous rubbing when drying lens
Leaving visors and lenses exposed to extreme
elements like sun, hot, cold etc. (like on a
dashboard of a car)
Optical cleaning sprays that have more than
5% alcohol
Shirts, towels, and other abrasive materials
when drying lenses – a microfiber cloth is
always preferred
When washing the microfiber cloth that you use
to clean your lenses, don't wash it with laundry
detergent that contains fabric softener
