Requirements

To begin, make sure you have the following equipment:

• A small ﬂat blade screwdriver for tightening the connectors (Bimba

screwdriver included).

• A personal computer running Microsoft Windows 98, 2000, ME, NT, XP,

Vista,7 (32 and 64 bit), or 8.

• IQ® stepper software (available at www.bimba.com).

• For RS-232 models: a Bimba programming cable (included).

• For RS-485 models: a RS-422 or RS-485 port or adapter for your PC (see

page 2 for recommended RS-485 adapter).

• For more detailed information, please download and read the ITM-23Q

Hardware Manual available at www.bimba.com.

1. Apply power to the drive. The drive

model and ﬁrmware revision should

be automatically displayed. If they

are not, check the com port setting.

2. Follow the conﬁguration instructions

in the IQ® stepper help screens.

The IQ® stepper software can be

used to set up your drive to operate

in several dierent modes including:

Pulse & Direction, Analog Velocity,

IQ® Programmer, and SCL.

3. IQ® stepper includes a self test option (under the Drive menu) to verify that

the ITM and power supply are correctly wired and conﬁgured.
