Door Switch Connections — Single Temp Units with One Zone
1. On Controller Interface Connector ((JJ77)), locate door switch wires DDSSPP--0011 (pin 20) and DDSS--0011
(pin 21 ).
a. Measure approximately 51mm (2.00 in.) out from connector and cut these two wires.
2. Tape off ends of each wire at the connector with electrical tape or equivalent.
3. Strip the ends of wires 4mm (0.15 in.) going to door switch.
a. Use the proper tool to securely attach a socket terminal ((442244223344)) onto each wire.

4. On TKV5 harness, remove plug from door switch 3-pin connector ((DDSSPP--0033,, CCHHDDSS11--0033,, DDSS--
0033)).
a. Remove wedge from plug.
b. Remove and discard block off plugs oonnllyy from cavities AA and CC.
c. Insert door switch wire DDSSPP--0011 with socket terminal into cavity AA.
d. Insert door switch wire DDSS--0011 with socket terminal into cavity CC.
e. Reinstall wedge firmly into plug.
NNoottee:: Lightly tug on the wires to confirm they are locked securely Into the plug.
5. Reconnect plug to connector on TKV5 harness making sure it locks firmly in place.

Door Switch Connections — Multi–Temp Units with Two Zones
1. ZZOONNEE OONNEE - Follow steps 1-5 on page 4.
2. ZZOONNEE TTWWOO - On the 35-pin EExxppaannssiioonn MMoodduullee CCoonnnneeccttoorr, locate door switch wire DDSSPP22--
0011 (pin 32) and DDSS220011 (pin 33).
a. Measure approximately 51mm (2.00 in.) out from connector and cut wires as shown.
3. Tape off end of wire at the connector with electrical tape or equivalent.
4. Strip the ends of wires 4mm (0.15 in.) going to door switch.
a. Use the proper tool, securely attach a socket terminal ((442244223344)) onto each wire.

TKV5 Module Installation
NNoottee:: The TKV5 mounting bracket ((993355227777)) has an alignment pins that fit Into holes the SR-3
controller board. Make sure pins are properly aligned with the holes.
1. Position TKV5 mounting bracket ((993355227777)) on top of SR-3 controller with the pins correctly
aligned with holes.
2. Secure bracket to controller with two #6 TORX retainer screws ((551133229988)).
a. Tighten to 17 in-lbs. (2 N•m). DDOO NNOOTT oovveerr ttiigghhtteenn tthhee ssccrreewwss.
3. Install TKV5 harness 35–pin connector securely to TKV5 module.
4. Secure TKV5 module onto mounting bracket with (4) M5 washers ((555500443311)) and (4) M5 nuts
((555577001111)).
NNoottee:: Be sure to use the M5 nuts and M5 washers. The supplied 10–32 nuts (555292) are not
used for this installation.
a. Tighten to 12 in-lbs. (1.35 N•m). DDOO NNOOTT oovveerr ttiigghhtteenn tthhee nnuuttss.

5. Clean surface of both roadside and curbside door panels, attach WARNING nameplate
((992277110000)) and CONNECTED nameplate ((993355888888)) as shown.

procedures. Diagnostic Service Cable (423001) is available for use with the Web Based
Diagnostic Program.

TracKing V5 Activation Procedures
Existing TracKing Users
If your unit wwaass previously equipped with TracKing with remote antenna, and it has now been
converted to TracKing V5 with internal antenna, once the unit is turned on it will auto-configure.
Follow the instructions below:
1. Turn unit ON.
2. www.tracking.thermoking.com
3. Verify unit is configured correctly. Adjust as needed.
4. Verify TracKing is communicating with your unit.
New TracKing Users
If your unit wwaass nnoott previously equipped with TracKing and it now has TracKing V5 installed,
you must contact a Thermo King dealer to create a TracKing account. Once the TracKing
account is setup by the dealer, you can either have the dealer assist with the activation
procedures, or follow the instructions below:
1. Turn unit ON.
2. Access www.tracking.thermoking.com.
3. Follow the instructions to activate the unit.
4. Verify unit is configured correctly. Adjust as needed.
5. Verify TracKing is communicating with your unit.
