PneuMoment Seal Replacement
INSTRUCTIONS
1. Retract load beam into guide beam.
2. Remove guide beam rear cap by removing the four (4) socket head cap screws.
3. Using a wrench, loosen rear jam nut and continue loosening it until the rod separates from the guide beam end cap.
> 1-1/16” to 1-1/2” wrench size: 9/16”
> 2” to 2-1/2” wrench size: 1/2”
4. Remove the internal end cap by removing the four (4) socket head cap screws.
5. Pull the piston rod assembly out of the guide beam. The internal cylinder sleeve may pull out of the extrusion.
If it does, separate the cylinder sleeve from the piston rod assembly.
6. Remove rear O-ring and rear jam nut from assembly. It will be tight, so use the piston wrench provided to
hold the assembly at the opposite end to loosen.
7. Remove the piston jam nut and piston from the rod using a wrench and the piston wrench provided.
> 1-1/16” to 1-1/2” wrench size: 9/16”
> 2” to 2-1/2” wrench size: 1/2”
8. Slide off the rod guide and rear end cap.
9. Replace seals per drawing.
NOTES: Piston U cup seals are installed with one “U” facing to the front and the other facing to the rear of the actuator.
The U cup seal in the rod guide is removed using a small pointed pick or screwdriver. The seal should be
installed so that the “U” faces the front of the cylinder.
