Getting started
1. Open the box and check you have
the following items:

2. Charge the camera.
Forsafetransportation,thePolaroidNOW+
won’tbefullychargedwhenyoureceive
it.Tochargeit,plugonesideoftheUSB-C
cableintothecameraandtheotherside
intothechargingadapter(5V/1A).Wedon’t
recommendchargingviaalaptop.Thebattery
levelindicatorLEDwillblinkwhilethecamera
ispluggedinandcharging.ThisLEDwillturn
offoncethecameraisfullycharged.Afull
charge through a wall socket takes about
2hours.AfullychargedPolaroidNOW+will
haveenoughpowertoshoot15packsoflm,
dependingonusage.Remembertoturnoff
the camera when you’re not using it to save
battery life.

How to take
your rst photo
1. Turn on the Polaroid NOW+ camera.
PresstheON|OFFbuttonuntilthelm
counterdisplaylightsup.Thisdisplaywillshow
howmanyphotosareleft.Itshouldbeat‘0’
becausethereisnolminthecamera.
2. Insert the lm pack.
Pressthelmdoorbuttonandpullthedoor
open.Holdthelmwiththedarkslidefacingup.
Slidethethinendofthecassetteinrstwith
thetabfacingtowardsyou.Pushthecassette
all the way into the camera until it clicks. Leave
thepulltabon,asyouwillneedthatlaterto
removetheemptylmpack.
Closethelmdooruntilitclicks.

willeject.Donotpullonthelmshield.
Removethedarkslideandallowthelm
shieldtorollbackin.Thisretractableshield
isdesignedtoprotectphotosfromlight
astheydevelop,sodon’tremoveit.Ifthe
darkslidehasnotejected,removethelm
andreinsertit.
Toensurethecameradisplaysthecorrect
numberofphotos,alwaysnishthelm
beforeinsertingafreshpack.Ifyoudecide
toswitchthelmpackanyway,beawarethat
thiswillexposeallthephotostolight,and
they will be unusable.
You’renowreadytotakeyourrstphoto.
3. Aim the camera at your subject.
Make sure you are at least 45cm (1.47ft) away
from your subject.
ThePolaroidNOW+usesaviewnderlocated
ontheleftsideofthelensbarrel.Toaimatyour
subject,alignyoureyewiththeviewnderbarrel
andusetheimageyouseetohelpcomposeyour
shot.Beawarethatyourphotowillnotreect
exactlywhatyouseethroughtheviewnder.For
subjectscloserthan1.2m(5.24ft),adjustyour
aimslightlyupandtotheleft.
It’spossibletofocusonyoursubject,andthen
recomposeyourframe.Todothis,half-pressthe
shutterbuttontolockfocusandexposure.Adjust
yourcomposition,andthenfullypresstheshutter
button to take the photo. Be careful not to cover
theashorthephotoejectslotwithyourngers.
4. Press the shutter button.
The photo will eject from the slot at the front
of the camera. You will see that the photo will
becoveredwithalmshieldtoprotectitfrom
light.Pleasedon’tpullonthelmshield.
5. Remove the photo.
Leaveyourphotounderthelmshieldfor
about5seconds.Gentlyliftthelmshieldsoit
rolls back into the camera. Remove the photo
andplaceitfacedowntocontinueshieldingit
fromlightasitdevelops.Andnomatterwhat
thatsongsays,don’tshakethephoto!Check
thebackofthelmpackagingforthecorrect
developingtimes.
6. Turn the camera off.
Press the ON | OFF button to turn off the
PolaroidNOW+.
Connecting to the app
WiththePolaroidNOW+,youcanunlock
extracreativetoolsinsidethePolaroidapp.
DownloadthePolaroidapptoyourmobile
phone from the Apple App Store or Google
Play store. Switch on Bluetooth® wireless
technology.Opentheappandtap‘NOW+’
from the menu. A permission message will pop
up.Tap‘OK’toconrm.The+Buttononthe
camerawillturnbluetoindicatethatit'snow
connectedtoyourphone.Theconnectionis
madethroughtheapp,sothere’snoneedto
pair the camera with your phone. This means
thePolaroidNOW+camerawillnotappearin
yourphone’slistofBluetooth®devices.

to connect to the mobile app. Check the
connection status with the +Button.

Adding a lens lter
Addstars,contrast,orcolortoyour
photographywiththelenslterkit.Toadda
coloredlter,pressitoverthelens.Forthe
starburstandredvignettelters,turnthelter
until the small notch aligns with the light meter
atthebottomofthelens.Thelterwillthen
click into place.

Using the ash
In any situation where you’re not shooting in
bright,directsunlight,werecommendusing
theashtogetthebestPolaroidphotos.
That’swhytheashwilltriggerbydefault
every time you press the shutter button. The
ashbuttonisthesmalllightningboltnextto
the ON | OFF button.
Flash ready.
Flash is always on, unless
youdisableit.
Ifdisabled,presstoturnon.
Flash off.
Pressfor<1secondto
deactivateforthenextshot.
Doublepresstodeactivate
unlesscameraisturnedoff.

Setting exposure value (EV)
Theashbuttonalsoallowsyoutoadjustthe
exposurevalueofthePolaroidNOW+.Holdthe
ashbuttondowntoenterEVmodeonthelm
counterdisplay.Pressitagaintotogglebetween
brighter(+1/2EV),neutral,ordarker(-1/2EV).
Leaveitfor7seconds.Theselectedbarwill
blinktoshowtheEVvaluehasbeensaved.

creativetoolsyoucanaccessoutsideof
the app.
Self-timer
Get everyone in the photo with the
PolaroidNOW+self-timer.Pressthe
+Buttonandthe+Buttonmodeindicator
(theLEDbelowtheviewnderonthefront
of the camera) will turn orange. Once
youhaveframedyourphoto,pressthe
shutter button. The orange LED will blink
toindicatetheself-timercountdown.You
have9secondsbeforethephotoistaken.
Ifyouchangeyourmind,youcancancel
the self-timer by pressing the shutter
buttonbeforetheendofthecountdown
or simply turning off the camera.
Double Exposure
Combine two exposures in the one photo
withdoubleexposure.Doubletapthe
+Buttontostart.The+Buttonmode
indicatorwillturngreen.Thelmcounter
displaywillblink‘1’.Youcannowtakeyour
rstexposure.Itwillthenblink‘2’asa
signaltotakeyoursecondexposure.
Custom Shortcut
A custom shortcut makes creating easier.
Chooseyourfavoritemodefromtheapp
andsenditdirecttoyourPolaroidNOW+
camera to use whenever you like — without
needingtoconnectyourphone.Toseta
shortcut,gotoyourfavoritemodewithin
theappandpressthe+Buttonatthetop
ofthescreen.Nowthismodeissaved
in your camera. To activate it, long press
the +Button on the camera. The +Button
modeindicatorwillturnredtoshowthat
theshortcutisnowactive.Todeactivateit,
press the +Button again.

Tips to take great photos
Lightisyourbestfriendwhenitcomesto
analoginstantphotography,sowerecommend
toalmostalwaysusetheash.ThePolaroid
NOW+ashreaches2m(6.56ft),soifyour
subjectisfurther,yourashphotomayturn
outtoodark.
Ifyou’reoutdoorsandyoursubjectis
beyondtheashrange,werecommend
keepingtheashoff.Thiswillpreventthe
camerafromadjustingitsaperture,resulting
inanunderexposedphoto.
Ifit’sasunnydayoutdoors,letthesunbe
your light source. Position yourself so the sun
isbehindyou,faceyoursubjectside-onto
avoidashadow,turntheashoff,andkeep
thecameraassteadyaspossible.
Charging
Above the USB-C slot sits the battery level
indicatorLEDtoletyouknowwhatyourbattery
levelindicatoris.

Cleaning
WhenyoutakeaPolaroidphotograph,
thephotoispushedthroughtwometal
rollers.Thisiswherethedeveloperpasteis
spreadbetweenthenegativeandpositive
components of the photograph. If these rollers
aredirty,thechemistrywillnotspreadevenly,
andcancausesmallmarksonyourdeveloped
photo.
Whenyourcamerahasnolm,turnitoff
andopenthelmdoor.Lookforthesetwo
metalrollersnearthelmejectslot.Position
asoft,dampclothovertherollers.Rotatethe
rollers by turning the black plastic gear. Wipe
the cloth across the rollers as they move. Be
carefulthattheclothdoesn’tcauseajam.
Makesuretherollersaredrybeforeyouuse
yourcameraagain.Werecommendchecking

therollersbetweeneverypackoflm,andto
clean them every 2-3 packs.
Tocleanthelens,useamicrobercloth.
Thiswillavoidscratchesandmaterialparticles
that may impact the quality of your photos.
Troubleshooting
1. My Polaroid NOW+ won’t eject my photo
or darkslide.
Makesurethecameraischarged.Thebattery
levelindicatorLEDwillblinkredifitdoesn’t
have enough charge to operate. If this is the
case, recharge your camera then try again.
Still having trouble? Check how many photos
youhaveleft.Ifthelmcounterdisplay
shows‘0’,thismeansthatthereisnolmleft.
2. The ash doesn’t re when I take a photo.
ThePolaroidNOW+hasadefaultash,so
it switches on as soon as you turn on the
camera.Ifit’snotring,presstheashbutton
for<1seconduntilyouseeashbuttonlight
turns on.
3. My photo turned out too dark.
There are a few potential solutions for this.
·Ifyou’reusingtheash,makesureyou
don’taccidentallycoveritwithyourngers.
·Ifyou’reshootingoutside,avoid
directingthecameratowardsthesun.
Excessive light may cause the camera to
overcompensate when exposing the photo,
makingittoodark.
·Ifyou’retakingphotosinside,remember
thatthePolaroidNOW+hasaashlimitof
2m(6.56ft).Ifyoursubjectisbeyondthat,
yourphotomayalsoturnouttoodark.
·Ifyoudon’twanttousetheash,nd
another light source.
·If you’re half-pressing the shutter button
to play with your composition, remember
that half-pressing also locks exposure,
not just focus. So the camera will base
exposureontherstlightreading.
4. My photo turned out blurry or fuzzy.
Make sure you are at least 45cm (1.47ft)
away from your subject. When shooting,
holdthecamerasteady(especiallyinlow
lightconditions),useastronglightsourceto
illuminateyoursubject,andkeepyourngers
away from the camera’s sensors, which are
positionedundertheash.
5. The lm counter display shows the
wrong number.
Thedisplayresetsto‘8’eachtimeanewlm
packisinserted.Ifapartiallyusedlmpack
isinserted,thecamerawilldisplay‘8’and
countdownaseachphotoistaken.Whenyou
nextinsertafulllmpack,thecounterwill
correctlyshow‘8’remainingphotos.
6. I took the rst shot of a double exposure
photo, but I changed my mind.
Switchoffyourcamera,andthenpressand
holddowntheshutterbutton.Switchonthe
cameraagainandthelmcountwilldisplay
‘-’.Continuetoholdtheshutterbuttonfor
over10secondsuntilthelmisejected.
7. I’ve opened the lm door by accident.
Now what?
Thesethingshappen.Polaroidcamerasand
lmpacksaredesignedtopreventlightleaks
whenthelmdoorisopened.Butifthelm
wasexposedtodirect,brightlightthere’s
ariskyourphotosmaybedamaged.Take
a photo to remove it from the pack. Take
anothertoseeiftherestofyourlmisin
goodcondition.Ifnot,insertanewlmpack.
8. My camera is behaving strangely.
What do I do?
Itsoundslikeitmayneedareset.Toreset
yourcamera,openthelmdoorandthen
holdtheON|OFFbuttonfor>8seconds.
