FläktGroup EURT Econet Installation guide

  • Hello, I'm your chat assistant. I've reviewed the installation instructions for the Fläkt Woods Heat exchanger EURT ECONET. This document covers the step-by-step process for installing the liquid-coupled heat exchanger, including connecting the pump unit, control unit, and sensors. It also includes information on charging, purging, and starting the system. I'm ready to assist with any questions you may have.
  • What components are supplied with the ECONET system?
Where is the pump unit intended to be installed?
What is the recommended frost protection solution for optimal heat recovery?
What should be done when filling the system with liquid?

EU Air Handling Unit INSTALLATION
Installation of pump unit
Size 20–53
The pump unit is designed to enable it to be installed
directly to the coil connection on the supply air side. It
is located on the bracket supplied. The bracket is instal-
led as shown in the hole template, using the screws sup-
plied.
A drip-tray, constructed on-site, is placed under the
pump unit.
Fig. 3
Size 60–84
The pump unit is placed on a frame constructed on-site.

Installation of pipe system
Connection to the pipe system must be performed by
a pipe installation contractor.
Installation includes:
- Installation of the pump bracket
- Connection between the TF and the FF side
- External connection
- Installation of all sensors (connection of pipes for
GP41)
- Expansion vessel
- Connection for charging
- Charging of liquid and purging
N.B.! Purging of the pump before starting.
- Water trap
N.B.! Pressure sensor GP41 is marked with P1 and P2.
Connect as shown in Figure 2. Valves to sensor GP41
must be closed and the overflow valve open when filling
the system.
The heat exchanger must be connected to the pipe system
so that expansion forces or the pipe systems own weight
do not impose a load on the liquid connections.
The liquid connections are provided with signs for the
inlet and outlet.
Important!
- Hold the pipe connections steady with a pipe wrench
when tightening external pipes.
- Use flax and paste for sealing the connections.
General tips
- For optimal heat recovery, a max. 30% frost protection
solution (water/ethylene glycol) is recommended
- When planning the pipe system, consideration must be
given to the possibility of flushing.
- Automatic air eliminator capable of dealing with
microbubbles (Spirovent or Flamcovent type).
- Separate pump with a non-return valve for filling the
system, e.g. a hand pump.
- Expansion vessel with a volume of at least 5 % of the
total system volume.
- Expansion vessel with 1.0 bar pre-compression, 6.0 bar
operating pressure and 4.5 bar opening pressure.

The external coupling is dependent on whether one or
more units coupled in parallel are included.
Single unit (closed circuit)
The cut-off valve which connects the external liquid cir-
cuit in parallel with the pump circuit must be closed 1).
Three pipes can be used for supplementary cooling 2).
N.B.! Cut-off valves are installed on the external connec-
tion.

Start-up
N.B.! Electrical connection of the pump must be carried
out.
1. Mix ordinary water and frost protection fluid to the
stipulated concentration. Then allow the mixture to
stand for at least 24 hours in the open mixing vessel
for air elimination.
2. Mark the system with signs indicating the flow, type
of frost protection and concentration.
3. Connect the coils, taking note of any marking in
respect of counter-flow connection.
4. Fill the system as soon as possible with the help of the
separate pump. The system should have a positive
pressure of 1.0 bar.
5. Pressure sensor (GP41). When charging with liquid ,
the by-pass valve must be open and the cut-off valves
must be closed.
6. Check for any leakage and reseal if necessary.
7. The circulation pump must be purged without
exception, using its own purging valve, before star-
ting!
8. Start the systems circulation pump and purge the
system carefully. The pump is started via the manual
position on the frequency converter. Set the converter
to a relatively low frequency, ca 30 Hz.
9. Taking into service (GP41). Open the shut-off valves
and eliminate any air that is present. Shut the by-pass
valve.
10. Check the positive pressure of the system and fill up
if necessary. Check that no air is present in the char-
ging equipment.
11. Fill the water trap.
12. Recheck the system pressure after about a week.
Electrical and control installation
The electrical diagram for connection of the pump
motor, frequency converter and control unit for the
pump circuit is supplied with the control unit (in the
cabinet).
