A FreeSpeak II (FS II) system consists of five main elements:
Wireless beltpacks (FSII-BP-19, FSII-BP-24).
The Base station (FSII-BASE) that routes communication to and from the beltpacks and
other audio devices.
Antennas (FSII-TCVR-19, FSII-TCVR-24) that provide coverage zones in which the
beltpacks operate.
Optional antenna splitters (PD2203) that run up to 5 separate antennas.
Suitable headsets such as the Clear-Com CC-300-X4.
Connecting the transceiver/antennas to the Base station
To connect the antennas to the Base station:
1) Clear-Com recommends using 4-pair shielded screened cable (CAT-5/5e/6) with RJ45
connectors to connect the antennas to the Base station. Up to 5 antennas can be
connected to each transceiver port using an antenna splitter, or two antennas can be
connected directly to the Base station. The Base station can power cable lengths of up to
650 ft (200m). Powering antennas or splitters individually can increase cable lengths to a
maximum of 3280 ft (1000m). See 3.2.1 Wiring the antennas and splitters in the
User Guide for more information.
2) When the transceiver/antennas are connected, turn on the Base station and wait for it to
boot.
Using the Beltpacks
The system arrives with a default audio set-up and configuration so the system can simply be
wired and powered for basic use. The default set-up has two Wireless Partylines, WPL01 and
WPL02 for beltpack channel A and B respectively. Each channel talks to:
