Application Note – Defaulting Xcelerator IP and IP2007 Phones
Xcelerator IP 07007
This application note addresses the procedure to reset Xcelerator IP and IP2007 back to their
factory default settings.
Defaulting Xcelerator IP
There are two methods of defaulting the Xcelerator IP.
1. When logged into the X-IP, on the left side of your browser screen click on Management,
then Settings. You will see the following screen:
In the middle of the screen you will find “Tools -- Restore Default Settings”.
Click on the button that says Restore to Default Settings. You will get a pop-up asking if you
are sure that you want to restore Xcelerator IP back to its factory default settings.

Click the OK button and you will see the following screen.

Once the reboot sequence completes, Xcelerator IP will restart in the default mode, meaning
that upon start up, you will see the Set Up Wizard when you access the admin screen. You
must go though all the screens in the Wizard by clicking on the Next button on each screen,
whether you have made changes or not. After you have gone through all the screens, click of
Save and Reboot at which time Xcelerator IP will restart, this time in the Advanced Admin
screen.
Failure to properly follow this default procedure may result in unstable
performance of Xcelerator IP.
2. There is a reset button that you can use if you cannot log on to Xclerator IP. It is found on
the back side of the chassis (or the side with the mounting screw holes on it). In the
lower left part of the chassis you will find a pin hole that contains the reset button.
The button must be held in for 30 seconds to reset to factory default settings.
DO NOT USE A PENCIL TO PUSH THE RESET SWITCH
At this point you should be able to browse to the LAN address of 192.168.1.1 and get to
the Xcelerator IP Wizard Setup. Remember to go thru all the screens in the Wizard
whether changes are made or not, and at the last screen (Call Routing Table) click on
Save and Reboot.
Defaulting the IP2007 phones
There are two methods for defaulting the IP2007 phones.
The first method involves using the soft keys on the IP2007. From the phone that you wish to
default
1. Press the soft key labeled Config (left most soft key)
2. Use the arrow keys or the volume key to scroll down to #16 Admin
3. Press the checkmark button that is located in the middle of the Navigation key
4. Enter admin password of “1234” and press the checkmark button
5. Scroll to #7 Reset and press the checkmark button
6. At this point the phone will display “Reset to default yes” press the checkmark key and
the phone will then display “Load Settings …. Please wait”. You will hear a tone from the
phone when it starts the Reset process.
The second method involves a reset button on the lower backside of the phone next to the
LINK/ACT lights.
To default the phone, press and hold the reset button until you hear a tone from the phone
indicating the phone is resetting. You will need to hold the button down for between 3 and 8
seconds before the reset takes place.
