This Application Note addresses the steps required to install a remote IP2007 phone
with Xcelerator IP.
Programming Xcelerator IP
To program a remote phone you must be connected to the Xcelerator IP gateway using
Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher. After opening Internet Explorer, enter either the default
IP address of the Xcelerator IP or the user configured IP address into the address bar
and press Return. The default IP address is 192.168.1.1.
Once Xcelerator has been accessed, you will prompted for a username and password;
both the default username and password are admin (lower case for both entries).
Enter programming mode by clicking on the “Advanced Setup” option that appears on
the start up screen.
The main set up screen will appear as depicted in Figure 1 below:

Click on the Voice option in the left side menu, then click on Phone, then on Phone
Extension.
The Phone Extensions screen will look like this:

To add the remote IP2007 phone, enter the Phone Number (value = 100 to 125) and
Password in the next available vacant row.
As depicted in the following screen shot, you will note that extension 120 was entered in
row 4, which was the next available row. The password “1234” was entered into the
Password field.

Note: You must complete all steps described in the previous Programming
Xcelerator IP to ensure the proper functioning of the remote IP2007 phone.
At this time you will save the settings. You will be prompted to reboot Xcelerator since
you have changed SIP settings.
This completes the programming of Xcelerator IP for an individual remote IP2007 phone.
These programming steps must be completed for each remote IP2007 phone.
Programming the Remote IP2007
The following steps must be completed via the IP2007 phone web programming.
You must know the current IP address of the phone in order to enter the Web
programming of the phone.
After opening Internet Explorer, enter the IP address of the IP2007 phone.
Once the IP address is entered in the address bar and the IP2007 has been accessed,
you will be prompted to enter the username and password for the IP2007 phone. The
default username is admin and the default admin password is 1234.
Once you have entered the username and password, you will see the following default
programming screen:

Click on the SIP option found in the top menu options.
The SIP options screen will appear as depicted in Figure 5:

The information required to register the remote phone are:
SIP Proxy Server IP Address
Outbound Proxy Server IP Address
User Name
Phone Number
Authorized ID
Authorized Password
The SIP Proxy Server and Outbound Proxy Server IP address is the WAN IP address of
Xcelerator IP.
Note: The WAN IP address of Xcelerator IP can be found on the Device Info
page of Xcelerator IP. The Device Info page is the first screen displayed once
you enter Advanced Settings.
Enter the name the user wishes to have shown on the IP2007 phone display in the User
Name field.
Enter the phone number you set up in the Phone Extension field of Xcelerator IP web
admin in the Phone Number field of the IP2007.

Enter the extension number and password entered in the Xcelerator Web Admin in the
Authorized ID and Authorized Password fields.
Save the changes to the phone.
This completes the programming of the IP2007 phone for an individual remote IP2007
phone. These programming steps must be completed for each remote IP2007 phone.
