Installation information
Ensure that the cables/lines are not kinked or damaged as you install them in the car.
If the specified PIN chambers are occupied, bridges, double crimps or twin-lead terminals must be used.
Target group
The target group for these installation instructions is specialist personnel trained on BMW cars with the
appropriate specialist knowledge.
All work must be completed using the latest BMW repair manuals, circuit diagrams, servicing manuals and
work instructions in a rational order using the prescribed tools (special tools) and observing current health and
safety regulations.
Ordering instructions
A black insert for the centre console is supplied in the retrofit kit.
An insert for the centre console in other colours for cars with different interior colours can be ordered if
required. See the EPC for all further ordering information.
Safety instructions
Refer to the safety instructions for handling components of the airbag system. Further information is available
in the TIS in RA No. 32 34 ... If you fail to follow the safety instructions the airbag system may deploy
incorrectly and cause injuries.

(2) and secure it with the bar (3) and a hexagonal screw
(4).

Place speed nuts (1) in the side panel (2) on the left-hand
side of the boot.

Bolt the holder with the hands-free control module (1)
and retaining plate (2) to the left-hand side panel using
hexagonal screws and nuts (3).

Insert the hands-free control module (1) into the holder
(2) and secure it with the bar (3) and a hexagonal screw
(4).

the left-hand side wall plate (3) using hexagonal nuts (2).

Insert the telephone cable (1) into the cable guide (3) and
clip the cable guide (3) together.

Affix the foam strip (1) to the inside of the holder frame (2).
Place the interface (3) on the oddments box (4) and clip in
the holder frame (2).

Connect the black 12-pin plug (1) for the eject box to the
interface (2).
Connect the black 6-pin plug (3) for the eject box to the
black 6-pin plug (4) for the interface (2).

The adapter cable C must be fitted."
Connect the eject box adapter C between the black
18-pin plug (1) on the interface and branch A3.
Connect the aerial plug (2) to branch A4.

Wrap the plug connectors (1) in safety strips (2).

The arrow on the hands-free microphone (1) must
point to the front of the car.

Clip the hands-free microphone (1) into the trim (2).

Only use the template from the installation kit.

Cut out the template (1) and affix it to the headlining
behind the opening for the interior light.
Cut the hatched area (3) out of the headlining.

Push the metal frame (1) through the opening (2) and clip
it to the retaining frame (3).

Connect branch A8 to the hands-free microphone (1).
The arrow on the hands-free microphone (1) must
point to the front of the car.
