The fans are powered by energy-efficient EC motors.
HEATER
A heater (electric or water coil) is supplied as standard.
TEMPERATURE CONTROL
In cold weather the bypass damper closes and outdoor air is routed
through the heat exchanger in order to recover the heat from the ex-
tract air (winter mode). The heat that the counterflow heat exchanger
recovers is generally sufficient.
When outdoor temperatures are low and the desired supply air tem-
perature cannot be achieved using recovered heat alone, the heater
assists.
In warm weather the bypass damper opens and the outdoor air is rout-
ed past the heat exchanger (summer mode).
CONTROL EQUIPMENT
The unit is equipped with an electronic ISYteq Mini control unit.
The control unit is integrated into the unit and controls the
operation of the fans, the bypass damper and the heater.
FAN CONTROL
Three operating modes can be selected via the ISYteq Touch 3.5
control panel:
AWAY” (low speed) is only used when the premises are left empty
for an extended period (during a holiday for example)
“HOME” (normal speed) is used for normal ventilation flow
“FORCED” (high speed) is used when there is a greater need for ven-
tilation (reverts to normal automatically after 120 minutes)
The speed of the fans can be adjusted independently of each other.
COOLING RECOVERY
In the summer, if the extract air is colder than the outdoor air, the by-
pass damper closes to recover cooling from the colder extract air. This
applies particularly if there is some form of cooling unit in the facility/
house.
DEFROSTING, TERMO ICE
During cold periods when frost forms in the heat exchanger, the Termo
Ice function defrosts the unit and the supply air fan is stopped. Defros-
ting does not start until it is really needed. In other words when much
of the heat exchanger has been covered in frost. This is to allow the
highest degree of heat recovery possible. The Termo Ice system can
detect the difference between frost and condensate.
ETHERNET CONNECTION (ACCESSORY)
This function can be used to connect the unit to an existing network.
The unit has an integrated web server, which makes it possible to read
and change certain parameters via a web browser.
The connection can also be used for connection to a superior system
via Modbus TCP/IP.

GENERAL
The control panel has a touch screen display. Use your finger or the
back of a pen to navigate in the menus.
When the power is switched on, all the menus will be imported into
the system. This will take about 20-30 seconds. After this, the home
screen will be displayed.
CLEANING OF THE DISPLAY
Disconnect the unit from the power supply by disconnecting the power
cord. Carefully wipe the display with a soft, dry, non-abrasive cloth.
If any marks remain, moisten the cloth slightly with a detergent spe-
cially designed for LCD or mobile screens and wipe the screen gently
from top to bottom.
Never use other detergents, as they may contain ammonia or other ad-
ditives that could damage the display.
IMPORTANT:
Never spray or pour liquids directly onto the display.
Never clean the control panel when the system is switched on.

SELECTING OPERATING STATUS
The symbol on the home screen shows the operating status. Press the
centre of the fan symbol to change the status.
Normal mode (manual)
Heating stove mode, makes it easier to light a heating stove
or open fireplace. Temporarily creates overpressure in the
house.

The symbol on the home screen shows the alarm status.

Here you set the desired supply air temperature (setpoint).
Note: This value is not to be confused with the desired in-
door temperature, which is managed by the domestic hea-

factory setting is 18 °C. Temperatures, output signals etc.
are read-only values.
FAN STATUS
Supply and extract air fan speeds can be read from
30 –100 % or as 0 (off).

ISYTEQ TOUCH CONTROL 3.5 PANEL - OPERATION
CLEARING ALARMS
To clear an individual alarm, press Acknowledge after the relevant
alarm. To clear all the alarms, press Acknowledge All button (top right).
If the alarm cannot be cleared, it will reappear on the display and the
underlying cause for this must be resolved before the alarm can be
cleared.
A built-in timer is normally set to provide a filter replacement reminder
(alarm) every six months. If a shorter replacement interval is required
(before the alarm is due) the filter alarm can be reset under the Set-
tings menu. See page 22, fig. 3.

CLEANING OF THE HEAT EXCHANGER
Check that the heat exchanger fins are not coated with dust. Clean by
vacuuming or using compressed air. Or spray them with water.
Alternatively clean them using a degreasing agent (ordinary washing
up liquid for example) and rinse clean with hot water.
NOTE! Do not soak the heat exchanger! Do not use dishwasher deter-
gents or lye! Do not poke the air ducts with a sharp object. Allow to dry
before reassembly.
MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING OF HEAT EXCHANGER AND FANS
Pull the heat exchanger out of the unit. During reassembly, check that the seals are
positioned correctly.
Vacuum or spray the heat exchanger with water
GENERAL
The fans, filters and heat exchanger are very important for the opera-
tion and economy of the unit. For this reason, it is crucial for them to be
kept clean and in good condition.
We recommend a general check-up every 6 months. For safety rea-
sons, general caution should be observed during maintenance of the
unit. If necessary, use protective gloves.
Before cleaning the heat exchanger, fans etc., the unit should always have the power
disconnected. Pull out the plug and open the cover.
CLEANING OF FANS
Note that the fans must not be cleaned with water or other fluids; they
may only be vacuum cleaned or brushed.
2. Disconnect the electrical connection and remove the fan from the unit.
3. Disconnect the impeller from the fan housing by removing the four screws on
the side of the fan housing.
4. Clean the impeller housing and the fan blades with a brush.
5. Reinstall the fan.
1. Unscrew the screws on the cover panels above the fans.
CONDENSATION, WATER IN THE UNIT
When the unit is running moisture condenses from the extract air. This
is greater during autumn and winter. The amount of moisture in the
extract air depends on various factors, during food preparation and
showering for example. A new house gives off a lot of moisture for the
first few years.
In the bottom of the unit is a drain hole for condensate drainage. Check
that the drain hole is not blocked at regular intervals.
At the end of the summer the water in the water trap may have evapo-
rated. This can result in a gurgling noise. Remedy this by pouring water
into the drain hole to fill the water trap.

FILTER ALARM AND FILTER REPLACEMENT
FILTER ALARM AND FILTER REPLACEMENT
If the filter needs replacing ISYteq Touch 3.5 generates an alarm.
The supply air and exhaust air filters should normally be replaced eve-
ry six months. In dirty areas, the filters may need to be replaced more
frequently.
A built-in timer is normally set to provide a filter replacement reminder
every six months.
To replace the filter, follow the steps below.
1. Disconnect the unit from the power supply by pulling out the plug.
2. Open the unit, see previous page.
3. The supply filters (coarse filter and fine filter) are suspended on a
spring-loaded bracket. Move the spring-loaded plate to one side to
remove them. To minimise soiling take both filters out at the same
time.
4. Remove the extract air filter sitting loose on the heat exchanger.
5. Install new filters
6. Close the unit and insert the plug
7. Press the alarm symbol to reset the filter alarm. Then acknowledge
the filter alarm, see the figures below.
If the filters are replaced before the alarm is generated, reset the filter
alarm in the Settings menu, see the figure below.

UNIT WITH A WATER COIL
On units with a water coil the supply air temperature is adjusted using
the thermostat valve on the coil inlet line, see the figure below.
FROST PROTECTION
The frost monitor is used to prevent frost damage to the water coil
when outdoor temperatures are low. The frost protection sensor gene-
rates an A alarm that stops the unit when the water temperature drops
below 10 °C.
Investigate why frost protection tripped and then reset the alarm.

THERMAL OVERLOAD PROTECTION, TEMPERATURE AND OTHER ALARMS,
UNIT WITH A WATER COIL, FROST PROTECTION
RESETTING THE THERMAL OVERLOAD PROTECTION
The fan motors are equipped with thermal overload protection that is
reset manually by temporarily disconnecting the power.
The electric heaters have dual thermal overload protection devices,
one that resets automatically and one manually. The automatic thermal
overload protection device trips before the manual one.
If the manually reset thermal overload protection device has tripped the
power must be disconnected.
Let the electric heater cool for a few minutes before unscrewing the
plastic cover over the reset button. Reset the thermal overload protec-
tion device by pressing the reset button.

out service personnel.

TEMPERATURE ALARM
The temperature alarm stops the unit if the supply air temperature
drops below +5 °C. The alarm is blocked during defrosting or during for-
ced operation via the cooker hood. A 10-minute delay ensures that the
supply air temperature has time to rise if operation has been stopped.
OTHER ALARMS
The unit has a number of other alarms. These are displayed in plain
text on the ISYteq Touch 3.5 control panel.
EXTERNAL ALARM
An external alarm can be connected to the unit. If this alarm is trigge-
red, the unit will stop running

DUCT CONNECTION
Exhaust air from the unit may only be connected to a ventilation duct
intended for this purpose. Connection must not be made to a smoke or
gas flue. In case of extract air ventilation in premises where a smoke
or gas flue is used (for instance, an open fireplace or heating stove),
an adequate supply air flow must be ensured A kitchen flue must be
installed in accordance with applicable regulations.
DUCT CONNECTION, DUCT INSULATION
Note! During installation, the instructions regarding unit installation and duct insulation must be adhered to without deviation.
Otherwise, there is a risk of condensation and moisture resulting in major damage.
DUCT INSULATION
In order for the installation of the unit to be effective, it is crucial that
the installation of the ventilation ducts in the unit, as well as the instal-
lation of ducts through external walls containing insulation and vapour
barriers, roofs and joists, is executed in a professional manner. Other-
wise there is a risk of condensation, resulting in moisture damage.
If older units are replaced, it is also necessary to inspect ducts and
duct insulation for damage and ensure they are of adequate quality.
Supply air ducts (T) and extract air ducts (F), i.e. ducts containing warm
air, which are located in unheated spaces, must be insulated. The insu-
lation should be installed externally and have a windproof surface layer.
Outdoor air ducts (U) and exhaust air ducts (A), i.e. ducts filled with cold
air, which are located inside the building’s vapour barrier, must be in-
sulated and have a diffusion-proof (moisture-proof) surface layer. Given
the high degree of heat recovery achieved by the unit, the exhaust air
also gets very cold and must be thermally insulated. Moreover, ducts
which run alongside each other must have a common vapour barrier.
Ducts between the cooker hood, if fitted, and the unit and exhaust air
duct are to be regarded as kitchen flues. This means that particular
measures must be taken; see the table below.

next page.

INTRODUCTION
If the unit is not installed immediately after delivery, it should be stored
well-protected under a roof in its original packaging. We recommend
that the unit always be lifted by two people. Protective gloves should be
worn.
INSTALLATION OPTIONS
The unit should be positioned as shown in the ventilation drawing. If
no ventilation drawing is available, installation should be carried out
according to one of the options below. The unit is intended for installa-
tion indoors in a warm space. It is intended for wall mounting or ceiling
mounting in a ceiling bracket.

There are four adjustable
feet on the underside of the
unit used to level it.
CONDENSATION DRAIN
There is a connection (1/2" internal thread) at the bottom of the unit for
draining condensation.
Use a length of 12 mm pipe or rigid hose to route condensate to the
floor gully or to the wash basin/sink water trap.
Do not connect the condensation pipe to the outflow directly. Always
create a water trap on the pipe by bending it as shown in the adjacent
figure. The height of the water trap is to be 50 - 100 mm. Ensure that
the pipe slopes downwards for its entire length. Fill the water trap.
Important! Do not install the unit by a wall that borders a
bedroom.

INSTALLING A WATER HEATER
Connect the water coil to the heating system in the home; in parallel
with the radiators for example. Generally, thanks to the unit’s high effi-
ciency, no more heat output is needed than connecting the water coil to
the same branch as the underfloor heating for example.
Create an inspection opening if the connections are in a space above
a suspended ceiling. Install a bleed valve at the highest point of the
return line.
When the circuit has been topped up and bled, ensure that the water is
circulating in the coil before commissioning.
The system may need to be bled again after a few days. Ensure that
the air flows are calibrated before the water is connected. There must
be a continuous flow of water in the coil in winter due to the risk of
frost.

1. Open the control panel using a screwdriver.
2. Lift the display out of the enclosure.
3. Push the connection cable through a suitable hole and if needed
make an outlet for the cable on side of the cover.
4. Mount the enclosure directly on the wall or using the screws in a
junction box.
7. Check that the control cable is correctly connected to the con-
trol card before switching on the power supply.

1. Press the gear cog button.
2. Press the spanner button.
3. In this menu you can set the date, time and language. There is also
the option of resetting the filter alarm in advance. Installers and ser-
vice personnel can log in and access additional parameters.

AIR FLOW ADJUSTMENT, LOGGING IN, SETTINGS
INTRODUCTION
Adjustment of air flow and temperature may only be carried out by an
installation engineer or service personnel.
AIRFLOW ADJUSTMENT
The speed of the fans is adjusted independently of each other.
Normally only HOME mode need be adjusted to meet the design air
flows.
LOGIN
Installation engineers and service personnel must log in to access
"Settings".
The default (preset) password is 0000. This password can be changed.
WRONGLY ADJUSTED AIR FLOWS MAY
RESULT IN INCREASED ENERGY CONSUMPTION
AND DAMAGE TO THE BUILDING.

There are two ways to enter the adjustment menu.
1. The first is to press the question mark on the start screen. The
question mark will not be shown if the menu has been opened pre-
viously.
2. The second is to go to Menu/Settings/Login and select
“2 Adjustment”.
Press “2.1 Start” for a step-by-step guide through the settings requi-
red for adjustment. To change a single value, go directly to a specific
menu.
