INSTALLATION SHEET
Minimum height above cooker: 65 cm (electric cookers), 75 cm
(gas, gas oil or coal cookers)

WARNING: THIS APPLIANCE MUST BE EARTHED
The mains lead of this appliance is fitted with a BS 1363 13 amp fused plug.
To change a fuse in this type of plug use an A.S.T.A. approved fuse to BS1362 type.
1.
Remove the fuseholder and fuse.
2.
Fit replacement 13A fuse into fuseholder.
3.
Refit both into plug.
IMPORTANT:
The fuseholder must be refitted when changing a fuse and if the fuseholder is lost the plug must
not be used until a correct replacement is fitted.
Correct replacements are identified by the colour insert or the colour embossed in words on the base of the
plug.
Replacement fuseholders are available from your local Electricity Company Shop.
HOW TO CONNECT AN ALTERNATIVE PLUG
If the fitted plug is not suitable for your socket outlet, then it should be cut off and disposed of in order to avoid
a possible shock hazard should it be inserted into a 13A socket elsewhere.
A suitable alternative plug of at least 13 Amp rating e.g. 15 Amp round pin to BS 546 should then be fitted to
the cable.
The wires in this mains lead are coloured in accordance with the following code:-
BLUE  NEUTRAL - N
BROWN  LIVE - L
GREEN AND YELLOW  EARTH - E
The GREEN AND YELLOW wire must be connected to the terminal in the plug which is marked with the letter
E or by the Earth symbol or coloured green or green and yellow.
The BLUE wire must be connected to the terminal which is marked with the letter N or coloured black.
The BROWN wire must be connected to the terminal which is marked with the letter L or coloured red.

Removing and renewing or cleaning the
grease filter
1.
Disconnect the electrical power supply.
2.
Removing the grease filters:

- push the handles backwards
b
- and then downwards.

After substituting or cleaning the grease filter
(depending on model) remount in reverse order,
making sure the entire extraction surface is
covered.
Mounting or replacing the carbon filter
1.
Disconnect the electrical power supply.
2.
Removing the grease filters.
3.
If the carbon filters are already mounted (two
filters covering the motor-blade grille) and need
substituting, turn the central handle anticlockwise
until the filters release.
4.
If the filters are not mounted, fit one on each side
covering both the motor protection grilles. Turn
the central filter handle clockwise.
5.
Refit the grease filters.
Replacing bulbs
1.
Disconnect the electrical power supply.
2.
Remove the grease filters.
3.
Remove the lighting unit from the clips that fix it
to the hood body.
4.
Remove the burnt-out bulb.
Use 40 W max (E14) bulbs only.
5.
Remount the lighting unit
