IMPORTANT
Notes concerning alarm systems
Breakdowns, malfunctions or faulty settings may cause substantial damage and financial losses when regulat-
ing and controlling the climate in a livestock house. It is therefore essential to install a separate, independent
alarm system that monitors the house climate concurrently with the climate and production controller. According
to EU-directive No. 98/58/EU, an alarm system must be installed in all mechanically ventilated houses.
We would like to draw your attention to the fact that the product liability clause of general terms and conditions
of sale and delivery specifies that an alarm system must be installed.

Technical User Guide 5
1 Daily use
1.1 Guidelines
This manual describes the specific feature software functionality. For a general description of the controller’s op-
eration and other functions, see the controller user and technical manual.
1.2 Product description
Water pressure is a software function that is used to regulate the pressure in the water system when there is a
need for a higher or lower pressure during the day. The primary purpose is thus to ensure sufficient water pres-
sure when the animals drink a lot, just after the light is turned on, and just before the light is turned off.
The function is used in poultry houses with installed light, and the light program is applied.
Water pressure is provided as a software feature for post-installation in running controllers with production func-
tionality.

Feature Software
136297 BlueControl poultry water pressure, feature SW
Water pressure for post installation on a controller with add-on production
software (Breeder, Broiler and Layer).
When loading the feature software, the new functions are added to the
menus of the controller.
Water pressure requires both installed light and that a light program is ap-
plied.
Feature software can be installed in controllers with software version 7.0 or
later. If the controller software version is older than version 7.0, it requires
an update to the latest version before the installation of the software fea-
ture.
It is supplied with English documentation.

1.4.1 Water pressure menus
When activating the feature software Water Pressure, the following new features are added to the menus of the
controller.
The feature can only be used when light also is installed.
With this function, the water pressure regulation can follow the
light program.
If there are multiple light periods in the course of a day, the wa-
ter pressure can change for each period.

Water pressure control Activating the function.
Water pressure sensor Selection of the sensor for monitoring and alarming.
The animals' need for water increases with age. The required
pressure can therefore be set as 2 batch curves for high and
normal pressure respectively.
The 2 batch curves have the same day numbers.
Menu button | Settings | Strategy | Water | Water pressure control
High pressure curve Setting of batch curve for the required water pressure when the animals drink the
most.
Normal pressure curve Setting of batch curve for required water pressure when the animals drink the least.

High pressure View of the current setting for the required high water pressure based on the val-
ues of the batch curve.
Changing the value gives an offset to the batch curve, which is reset at the batch
end.
The curve offsets can be viewed in the menu Technical | Service | Production |

1.4.2 Alarm settings
When the water pressure feature is installed with a water pres-
sure sensor, it is possible to get the alarm when the water pres-
sure differs from the desired level.
In the water pressure alarm, the controller continues to regulate
the water pressure relative to the water pressure curve.
Menu button | Settings | Alarms | Production | Water pressure alarm
Water pressure The alarm is factory set as a soft alarm. Hence, there is a yellow warning pop-
up on the controller, but you are not alerted by, for instance, an alarm signal.
Water pressure alarm limit ± The controller triggers an alarm when the water pressure differs more than the
setting from what is required.
Water pressure alarm delay The controller does not trigger an alarm before the water pressure limit has
been exceeded during this time (15 min). This ensures that the alarm is not
triggered by brief changes in the water pressure of the house.

2 Technical setup
2.1 Installation guide
2.1.1 Electrical connection
Installation, servicing and troubleshooting of all electrical equipment must be carried out by quali-
fied personnel in compliance with the applicable national and international standard EN 60204-1
and any other EU standards that are applicable in Europe.
The installation of a power supply isolator is required for each motor and power supply to facilitate
voltage-free work on the electrical equipment. The power supply isolator is not included.
2.1.2 Feature software
The Feature Software is provided on a USB stick.
Important information
Feature software can only be installed on house controllers with software version 7.0 or later.
The controller restarts after loading the feature software so it is not advisable to carry out the up-
load when there are animals in the livestock house.
If it is necessary to load the software while animals are in the house, it should be carried out in the
presence of a veterinary expert.
Working procedure when installing Feature Software
1. Create a backup copy of the controller settings.
2. Load feature software and wait for the house controller to restart.
3. Activate the function.
4. Set up the function in the house controller.
5. Make the settings.
2.1.2.1 Backup of settings
Save the controller settings and pages before loading the software.
Menu button | Settings | Service | SD card | Save
Confirm and wait until the controller indicates that the settings are saved.

2.1.3 Loading software
1. Loosen the screws (A) that hold the front panel in place.
2. Lift out the front panel. Make sure not to pull the flat cable so that the plug (B) is damaged.
Figure1: Loading software
3. Unpack the USB stick (C) and label (D) from the box.
4. Place the small accompanying label at the side of the CPU module (E).
5. Insert the USB stick containing the software in the USB port (F) on the CPU module.
Menu button | Settings | Service | Install software
Select the required software.
Installation begins.
Settings are automatically saved before the installation starts
and are loaded after the restart.
The controller restarts during installation.
It is VERY important not to disconnect the power supply during installation.
Do not remove the USB memory stick until the installation is fully completed. In other words, when
the graphical user interface is accessible and usable.

2.2 Calibration
Pressure pump
After installing the software feature, the system must be calibrated so that the output of the pump corresponds
to the required water pressure at different levels.
The water system must have a stable pressure before you calibrate the pump. See the documentation enclosed
with the pump.
1. Select Menu button | Settings | Calibration | Production | Water pressure
2. Select a calibration point.
3. Enter the required pressure in the table or adjust the voltage until the required pressure is reached.

Enter the output values commensurate with the various water pressure levels in the menu Menu button |
Settings | Calibration | Production | Water pressure
See the documentation enclosed with the pressure sensor, if necessary.
2.3 Testing
After loading the software you must make a thorough test to ensure that the system works as intended.See also
the Technical Manual for the house controller.
2.4 Maintenance guide
There is no maintenance of software.
The functions from a feature software are not overwritten by a subsequent software update, but are updated to-
gether with the latest update.
It is not possible to uninstall feature software once it is installed.
