Im portant safety instructions
1) Read instru c tions. R ead all the safety and operating
instructions before operating the product.
2) Retainin s tru c tions. K eep the safety and operating
instructions for future reference.
3) Heed warnings. A dhere to all warnings on the product and
in the operating instructions.
4) Follow instru c tions. Follow all operating and use
instructions.
5) Cleaning -U nplug this product from the wall outlet before
cleaning. Do not use liquid cleaners or aerosol cleaners. Use
a dam p cloth for cleaning.
6) Attachm ents -Do not use attachm ents not recom m ended
by the product m anufacturer as they may cause hazards.
7) WaterandMoisture -Do not use this product near water
for exam ple, near a bathtub, w ashbow l, kitchen sink, or
laundry tub, in a wet basem ent, or near a sw imming pool.
8) Accessories -Do not place this product on an unstable
cart, stand, tripod, bracket, or table. The product may fall,
causing serious injury to a child or adult, and serious dam age
to the product. Use only with a cart, stand, tripod, br
acket, or
table recom m ended by the m anufacturer or sold with the
product. Any m ounting of the product should follow the
m anufacturer’s instructions and should use a m ounting
accessory recom m ended by the m anufacturer.
9) CART-A product and cart com bination should be moved
with care. Quick stops, excessive force, and uneven surfaces
may cause the product and cart com bination to overturn.
10) Ventilation -Slots and openings in the cabinet provide
ventilation, ensure reliable operation of the product, and
protect it from overheating. Do not block or cover these
openings. The openings should never be blocked by placing
the product on a bed, sofa, rug,
or other similar surface. Do
not place this product in a built-in installation such as a
bookcase or rack unless proper ventilation is provided or the
m anufacturer’s instructions have been adhered to.
11) Pow erSources-This product should be operated only from
the type of pow er source indicated on the marking label. If you
are not sure of the type of pow er supply to your hom e, consult
your product dealer or local pow er com pany. For products
intended to operate f
rom battery pow er, or other sources, refer
to the operating instructions.
12) LO C A TION -The appliance should be installed in a stable
location.
13) N O NUSE PERIODS -The pow er cord of the appliance
should be unplugged from the outlet w hen left unused for a
long period of time.
14) G rounding orPolarization -
•If this product is equipped with a polarized alternating current
line plug (a plug having one blade wider than the other), it
will fit into the outlet only one way. This is a safety feature. If
you are unable t
o insert the plug fully into the outlet, try
reversing the plug. If the plug should still fail to fit, contact
your electrician to replace your obsolete outlet. Do not
defeat the safety purpose of the
polarized plug.
•If this product is equipped with a three-wire grounding type
plug, it will only fit into a grounding type pow er outlet. This is
a safety feature. If you are unable to insert the plug into t
he
outlet, contact your electrician to replace your obsolete
outlet. Do not defeat the safety purpose of the grounding
type plug.
15) Pow er-C ord Protection -Power-supply cords should be
routed so that they are not likely to be walked on or pinched
by item s placed upon or against them , paying particular
attention to cords at plugs, convenience receptacles, and the
point w here they exit from the product.
16) OutdoorA ntenna G rounding -If an outside antenna or
cable system is connected to the product, be sure the
antenna or cable system is grounded so as to provide som e
protection against voltage surges and built-up static charges.
Article 810 of the National Electrical C ode, ANSI/N FPA 70,
provides information with regard to proper grounding of the
mast and supporting structure, grounding of the lead-in wire to
an antenna discharge unit, size of grounding conductors,
location of antenna-discharge unit, connection to grounding
elect
rodes, and requirem ents for the grounding electrode.
17) Lightning -For added protection for this product during a
lightning storm, or w hen it is left unattended and unused for
long periods of time, unplug it from the wall outlet and
disconnect the antenna or cable system . This will prevent
dam age
to the product due to lightning and pow er-line surges.
18) Pow erLines -An outside antenna system should not be
located in the vicinity of overhead pow er lines or other electric
light or pow er circuits, or w here it can fall into such pow er
lines or circuits. W hen installing an outside antenna system ,
take extrem e care to keep it from touching such pow er lines
or circuits; contact with them might be fatal.
19) Overloading -Do not overload wall outlets, extension cords,
or integral convenience receptacles. This can result in a risk of
fire or electric shock.
20) Objects and Liquids -D o notpush objects ofany kind
into thisproductthrough openings;they m ay touch
dangerous voltage points orshortoutparts,resulting ina
fire o r e lectric shock.Liquids ofany kind should notbe
used on oraround thisproduct.
21) Servicing -Do not attem pt to service this product yourself.
O pening or rem oving covers may expose you to dangerous
voltage or other hazards. Refer all servicing to qualified service
personnel.
22) D am age R equiring S ervice -U nplug this product from the
wall outlet and refer servicing to qualified service personnel
under the follow ing conditions:
• W hen the pow er supply cord or plug is dam aged,
•If liquid has spilled or objects have fallen into the product,
•If the product has been exposed to rain or water,
•If the product does not function properly after follow ing the
operating instructions, contact Lite-On Custom er Service for
technical support.
•If the product has been dropped or dam aged in
any way,
•W hen the product exhibits a distinct change in perform ance.
This indicates a need for service.
23) Replacem entParts-W hen replacem ent parts are
required, be sure the service technician uses replacem ent
parts specified by the m anufacturer or having the sam e
characteristics as the original part. U nauthorized substitutions
may result in fire, electric shock,
or other hazards.
24) Safety C heck -U pon com pletion of any service or repairs to
this product, ask the service technician to perform safety
checks to determine that the product is in proper operating
condition.
25) Wallor C eiling M ounting -M ount the product to a wall or
ceiling only as recom m ended by the m anufacturer.
26) H eat – Keep this product aw ay from heat sources, such as
radiators, heat registers, stoves, or am plifiers.
27) Battery U sage – Battery leakage may result in bodily injury
or dam age to the unit. In order to avoid battery problem s,
please follow these instructions.
•Install all batteries correctly, with + and - aligned as marked
on the unit.
•D o not mix batteries (old/new , carbon/alkaline, etc.).
• Rem ove batteries w hen the unit is not used for a long time.
