ESAB 353cv, 453cv and 653cvcc Power Sources
Control Board PN 38129 & 38130
SERIAL NO:
All Serial Numbers
SUMMARY:
This Instruction will eliminate a nuisance power source fault light when connecting a DuraDrive
4-30 or 4-48 wire feeder. The fault condition is caused by a transient voltage spike in the 12
volt control circuit when power is applied to the DuraDrive feeder. An additional 22 microfarad
capacitor is added to increase the time constant of the power up reset circuit which eliminates
the false triggering of the fault light.
OPERATIONAL IMPACT:
None
ACTION:
1. Remove the Main Control PCB from the power source.
2. Solder the positive (+) lead of the 22 microfarad electrolytic capacitor to the banded (+)
end of diode D46. See photo below.
3. Solder the negative (-) lead to the end of R159 that is the emitter lead of transistor Q30
& Q31.
4. Re-install control PCB into power source.
