1.4 Configuration 2 — DDI1 as Input
To use input DDI1 as the selected input on the GS12150 evaluation board, complete one
of the four methods described below, then apply a valid SDI signal to DDI1. The
differential output will be present on both DDO0 (J9/J14) and DDO1 (J5/J11).
Note: The numbers found in the brackets refer to the labels on the referenced figures
and are used to show locations in the GUI.
1. Set SW10 to 1110 as described in step 4. Stand-Alone Mode in Start Up Sequence.
2. Select the mode in the “Evaluation Board Mode Select” drop down on the “Device
Settings” tab of the GUI refer to
Figure 2-10: Device Settings Tab (6).
3. Using the GUI, ensure that the Input Select Mode is set to “CSR,” then set Input to
DDI1. See
Figure 2-11: Main Tab Features (7).
4. Set Input Select Mode to “Pin” and toggle the GPIO pin that is set to “Input Select”
via SW3. See
Figure 2-11: Main Tab Features (7) and Figure 2-10: Device Settings
Tab (5).
Note: While Input Select Mode = Pin, driving a GPIO pin that is set to “Input Select”
HIGH will select DDI0 and the input, and driving it LOW will select DDI1 as the input.

1.5 Configuration 3 — PRBS Generator Mode
To set the evaluation into PRBS Generator mode, complete one of the four methods
described below. The PRBS generator differential signal output will be present on both
DDO0 (J9/J14) and DDO1 (J5/J11). By default the generator will generate PRBS7 at 12G
from the internal clock source. For other options see Section 2.3.1. This mode can be
accessed one of three ways.
Note: The numbers found in the brackets refer to the labels on the referenced figures
and are used to show locations in the GUI.
1. Set SW10 to 1101 as described in step 4. Stand-Alone Mode in Start Up Sequence.
2. Select the mode in the “Evaluation Board Mode Select” drop down on the “Device
Settings” tab of the GUI refer to
Figure 2-10 (6).
3. Using the GUI, navigate to the PRBS tab and enable generation. See Section 2.3.1.
