Markallcurrentsettingsforthemobilitydevice(seat,armrests,backrestetc.),andtheassociatedcableconnecting
plugs,beforedismantling.Thismakesreassemblyeasier .Allplugsarettedwithmechanicallockswhichprevent
releaseoftheconnectingplugsduringoperation.Toreleasetheconnectingplugsthesafetylocksmustbepressed
in.Whenreassemblingensurethatthesesafetylocksarecorrectlyengaged.

Oldbatteriesloosetheirabilitytostoreandreleasepowerduetoincreasedinternalresistance.Inthisprocedure,batteries
aretestedunderloadusingadigitalvoltmetertocheckbatterychargelevelatthechargerconnector.Thechargerconnector
islocatedontheremote.Whenvoltageattheoutputdrops1.0voltsunderload(2.0voltsforapair),replacethebatteries.
Readtheseinstructionscarefullyandthemanufacturersinstructionsonthedigitalvoltmeterbeforeproceeding.

1.SwitchelectronicsOFFonremote.
2.Makesurebatteryisfullycharged.Anextremely

badbattery.
3.Removefootboard/legrestsfrommobilitydevice.
4.ConnectvoltmeterleadstochargerconnectorAon
mobilitydevice.MostdigitalvoltmetersBarenot
affectedbypolarity.However,analogmeters(meters
withswingingneedles)canbeandshouldbeused
carefully.
Agoodmeterreadingshouldbe25.5VDCto

6.Ensuethatyourfeetareclearfromcastersandwall.
7.Runmobilitydeviceinneutralforatleast2minutes.

9.Carefullygiveforwardcommand,tryingtodrivethe
mobilitydevicethroughthestationaryobject.Theload
shoulddrawbetween30ampsto40ampsfromthe
batteriesfor0.3seconds.
Performingthisstepputsaheavyloadon
thebatteriesastheytrytopushthroughthe
stationaryobject.Ifthewheelsspin,havetwo
individuals(oneoneacharm)applyasmuch
downwardpressureaspossibleonthearmsof
themobilitydevice.
10.Readmeterwhilemotorsarestrainingtodetermine
voltageunderload.
Ifthevoltagedropsmorethan2.0voltsfrom
apairoffullychargedbatteriesduringthe0.3
seconds,theyshouldbereplacedregardlessof
theunloadedvoltages.
