To install the TiPABX software proceed as follows:
1. Insert the CD-Rom in the CD drive;
2. From the main start page in web format select “TiPABX installation”.
3. Follow the language selection and installation instructions;
4. Click Install
5. The installation program will start copying the system files needed to run the TiPABX software.

3. Description of the
interface
Upon initialisation of the TiPABX application, the main start screen will be displayed.

3.2 Graphic Interface Configuration
Use this screen to begin the creation of a project.

In this area it is possible to select the functions to be included in the project.
To include a function in the project drag and drop the relevant icon to the central window.
Central window
The display area shows the project composition; Double click the icons inside the window to ac-
cess the corresponding configuration pages; the icons relate to: extensions, PABX switchboard, tel-
ephone lines and, if included, video door entry system.
Property area
All the items dragged to the central window must be configured. After the function is selected, the
“Selected Item properties” area will show the parameters to be configured. It is now be possible to
update the “Description” field according to personal preference.
Activate “Project” display mode to check at all times during the creation of the project the three
structure for the functions included.

4. Connection to
the PC
To receive/send the configuration completed using the TiPABX software, or to update the
firmware, connect the PABX switchboard to the PC using a USB/miniUSB cable, the serial-USB
adapter (3559), or an Ethernet cable.

5.1 Extensions
This page is used to define the number and the types of extensions connected to PABX, and their
configuration. It is possible to connect up to 8 extensions to the switchboard; by fitting one or two
expansion modules, the number of extensions may be increased to 16 or 24.
Two types of extensions are available in the Project elements area: Iryde Touchphone and Pivot/
Non-Bticino Telephone. The second one is intended for other brand telephones, fax machines, mo-
dems, or answering machines.
The icons marked with ? will become active depending on the configuration (telephone, fax ma-
chine, etc.), showing the corresponding graphic symbol.
5 Base settings
After clicking the telephone extensions icon in the Property area, select the configuration corre-
sponding to the system.
Click Next to access the pages where it will be possible to set the type and the exact number of
system extensions.

To create the project drag the icons in the central window. Select the individual extension to config-
ure their parameters and functions in the Property area.
Light blue fields cannot be amended.

5.2 PABX switchboard
Select the PABX icon to display, in the property window, the main parameters to configure. for all the
other many switchboard configurations see the Project chapter.
• Administrator password: the default password must be replaced with a 7-9 digit number.
• User password: the default password must be replaced by the user with a 6-8 digit number pre-
ceded by the # symbol.
• Nation: it is important that the right country is selected, as some operating parameters and im-
portant settings (see paragraph: Emergency messages/numbers) are directly linked to the coun-
try of installation.
• Language: this field cannot be amended. The language is associated to the nation selected above.
• Courtesy music: select a ring tone among the ones listed.

5.3 Outside lines
The PABX switchboard is preset for the management of two outside lines (expandable to 4 using the
appropriate module).
Select the Outside Lines icon to display, in the property window, the operating settings that are com-
mon to both lines.
Click the Outside Line box twice to access the next page.
• Waiting message: select the music the caller will hear when put on hold.
• Access mode: extensions can access the outside line directly, or by dialling 0 followed by the
telephone number.
• Local area code: the local area code is necessary for correct operation of the switchboard.
• Expansions: indicate if an expansion module is connected to the switchboard, enabling to in-
crease the outside lines managed by the PABX from 2 to 4.
Set the number of connected outside lines dragging the corresponding icons inside the central
window; each line must be configured.
• Selection mode: indicate the selection mode; Multifrequency or Pulse.

5.4 Video door entry system
The PABX switchboard can be connected to the BTicino video door entry system. It can manage the
calls from the entrance panels by diverting them to the connected handsets/video handsets or tel-
ephones.
Also, when the DOSA service is active, video door entry system calls can be diverted to the outside
telephone line.
It is possible to connect up to 8 handsets or video handsets, with up to 2 handset addresses maxi-
mum (e.g. N1 and N2); if one or two expansion modules are installed with the switchboard, the
number of audio and video door entry systems that can be connected can be increased to 16 (one
module) or 24 (two modules).
• Duration: duration of the video door entry call; times of 6, 15, and 25 seconds can be set.
• Main EP: IP address of the entrance panel from which to receive the calls.
• CITO1/2 address: N addresses of the handsets connected to the switchboard (max. 2 addresses
from 01 to 08; from 01 to 16 with one expansion module; from 01 to 24 with two modules).
• Video handset for CITO1/2: N addresses of the handsets connected to the video door entry sys-
tem (max. 6 addresses from 09 to 99; from 17 to 99 with one expansion module; from 25 to 99 with
two modules). 3 for CITO1, and the same number for CITO2). The address set for CITO1 will receive
the calls for the N address set for CIT01. The same will happen for CITO2.

After completing the base setup for the definition of the physical parameters of the system com-
ponents, click Next to access the logic configuration section, where it will be possible to set the
advanced switchboard functions, such as Telephone scenarios, Call blocks, etc.
Double click the icons on the central window to access the logic configuration window.

6.1 Setup
This section is used to set the general and safety parameters of the PABX switchboard.
• Clock: set the correct time zone, define if the switchboard will operate as Master or Slave (within
the My Home system only one device may be set as master).
• Ethernet: If the LAN network the switchboard is connected to is set for a Dynamic IP, the device
will automatically search for a free network address to use.
If it is set for a Fixed IP address, refer to the network administrator, who will be able to supply all
the parameters needed for correct operation.
• Authentications: type the password that the user will have to enter to obtain authorisation to
send OPEN commands (see telephone Controls) to the My Home system.
• Enabled IP addresses: It is possible to insert up to ten IP address ranges, through which it will be
possible to access the switchboard remotely using the Ethernet network.
In the settings window the OK pushbutton only becomes actives if the two addresses entered are
compatible.

• OPEN commands block: In order to avoid that unwanted commands are sent to the My Home
system, it is possible to enter a range of commands that will be blocked and therefore not ac-
cepted by the system.
OPEN commands may be entered in two ways, either directly, or using the configuration wizard.

the knowledge of the correct syntax to be used for the composition of the command.

6.2 Scenarios
The switchboard offers the possibility of programming three operating scenarios. These are called:
Day, Lunch Time, Night.
For each scenario the user can set the operation of the extensions depending on telephone and
video door entry calls, the activations for outside lines and handsets.
Using the Scenario Programming feature it is possible to apply previously programmed scenarios
to specific time bands and week days, adapting the operation of the whole system to the require-
ments of the user, which change depending on the time, and the day of the week.

• Profile definition: in the following example a daily profile has been created, conceived for a typi-
cal working day, and which uses the Day scenario during the working hours, the Lunch Time sce-
nario during the lunch break, and the Night scenario during the remaining hours of the day.
Scenario programming
Once the scenarios have been programmed, define one or more daily profiles and the weekly scheduling.
• Weekly scheduling: the previously created profile has been assigned to the days from Monday
to Friday.
In order to complete the weekly scheduling, the Holiday profile, which uses the Night scenario for the
twenty four hours, has been assigned to Saturdays and Sundays. Press OK to confirm the programming.

6.3 Address book
The switchboard address book can include up to 200 positions, and enables selecting the type of
device, telephone, handset, etc., and to create homogeneous groups, like for example a group for
the telephone numbers of friends. For each position, it is possible to assign one of the 15 available
ring tones, and also an e-mail address if required.
When entering the names, the fields “Name” and “Number” must always be filled.
Positions 48, 49, and 50 are reserved for the DOSA service: position 48 for calls from CITO1, posi-
tion 49 for calls from CITO2, and position 50 for general calls.
Position 51 is used for transferring unanswered calls (this service requires at least two outside
lines).
On the left section of the window is a customisable search area that can be used to filter the num-
bers according to the set parameters.

6.4 Telephone controls
There are 9 telephone controls that can be enabled and combined to as many OPEN addresses. These
controls can be activated using the telephone.
