BLOTZ B28-BS-004 Assembly Instructions

  • Hello! I've reviewed the instructions for the BLOTZ River Launch B28 BS-004 model. This document outlines the assembly process, detailing the step-by-step instructions for putting together the deck, wheelhouse, hull, and other components. It emphasizes using PVA glue, a sharp modelling knife and recommends using pegs for holding pieces together. I'm ready to answer any questions you have about the assembly process of this model.
  • What type of glue is needed for assembly?
What tool is needed to remove sections from the sprue?
    Can I paint the model?
How can I hold pieces in place while glue dries?
28mm River Launch
B28-BS-004
Please read these instructions fully before starting construction.
PVA or equivalent glue will be required to stick sections together.
Sand paper can be used to gently clean any joints.
A sharp modelling knife will be required to remove sections from the sprue. Please use knives with due care and
remember to cut away from yourself at all times.
During the construction of this model, you may find it convenient to use pegs / elastic bands to hold pieces in place
while you allow glue to dry.
Remove the deck and the front / rear of the
wheelhouse from the sprue.
Insert the wheelhouse tabs into the deck (etched
detail facing outwards). They should extend through
the deck by about 3mm.
Take the lower hull.
Glue the hull under the deck, using the tabs from the
wheelhouse to align them.
The ships wheel is formed from these pieces.
Glue them together as shown above.
Glue the ships wheel into the wheelhouse.
Take the sides and roof of the wheelhouse.
Attach the sides.
Either attach the roof now, or leave it off for the
moment to aid painting (if required).
Take the railing supports (only a few shown here)
Slot the lower foot of the support into the gap in the
hull.
Repeat this around the deck (as shown)
Add the handrails, gently slotting the lug from each
support into the hole in the handrail.
Add the bow piece.
Align it by adding the front and the two rearmost
railing supports (see pic).
Then add the rest of the supports.
Add the handrail, starting at one end and gently
inserting each support lug into the appropriate hole.
The finished model.
