Battery Replacement Guide
How to Replace the Main Battery in a 2Gig GO! Control Panel
The majority of GHS alarm systems include a 24-hour backup battery; this means
that the alarm system will still operate if the power goes out. Follow below steps to
replace the main battery in a GHS 2GIG home alarm system.
Tools Needed: A small to medium flathead screwdriver
Items Needed: A new 2Gig Go Control panel battery (can be purchased online,
here: https://www.amazon.com/2gig-BATT2X-Console-Rechargeable-Battery/dp/B00JZZILRK
1.Disarm or turn off home alarm system
2.Locate and remove the screw on top of the keypad
3.Gently pull down the front cover down (don’t let go)
4.Locate the third hand (a plastic piece that looks like an upside down V)
5.Place the third hand over the notch in the center of the cover
6.Locate the green battery pack
7.Remove the clip that connects the battery red and black wire to the circuit board.
8.Remove the battery
9.Insert the new battery and plug in the clip
10.Unhook the third hand
11.Guide the third hand and the large red wire into the keypad
12.Close the cover and press until it snaps into place
13.Replace the screw on top of the keypad
14.Let it charge for 24 hours

SYSTEM OVERVIEW
Thissystemprovidesthree(3)formsofprotection:burglary,fire,andemergency,depending
ontheoptionssetbyyourinstaller.ThesystemconsistsoftheControlPanelwithacolor
touchscreen,wirelesssensorsthatprovideperimeterandinteriorburglaryprotection,and
wirelesssmokeandcarbonmonoxidedetectors.Inaddition,optionalremotecontrolkeyfobs,
wirelesspanicbuttonsandkeypadsmayhavebeenprovidedorinstalled.
Thesystemmonitorsallprotection“zones”andthesystem’sstatus.TheControlPaneldisplays
monitoringinformationandcontrolsthealarmsiren.Yoursystemmayalsohavebeensetup
tosendalarmandstatusreportstoaCentralStationandmayhavethecapabilityfor2way
voicecommunicationswiththealarmmonitoringoperator.
FEATURES

StayandAwayarmingmodes:Staymodearmsthesystemperimeteronlyandisused
typicallyatnightwhenthepremisesareoccupied.Awaymodearmsthesystemperimeter
andinterior;itisusedwhenthepremisesareunoccupied.
•60userunique4digitcodestooperatethesystem:Thesystemsupportsone(1)master
usercodethatcanassignandmaintaintheotherusercodes.
•Oneofthe60usercodesfunctionsasaduresscode.Controllingthesystemwiththiscode
givestheappearanceofnormaloperation,butusingitsendsasilentduressreporttothe
CentralStationtoinitiateasilentalarmcallforhelp.
•VoiceannouncementsfromtheControlPanel:Thesystemhasavocabularyofdescriptive
wordsthatcanbeassignedtosensorssoeachhasauniqueannouncementsuchas“front
dooror“bedroomwindow”ifdesired.
•HomeautomationwiththebuiltinZWavecontrollerforremotecontrolofZWave
enabledhomeappliances(optionalfeature).
•Alarmhistorywithsystemeventlog:Eachalarmandsystemalertisloggedintothe
systemsmemory.TheseeventscanbedisplayedandreviewedattheControlPanelor
remotelybytheCentralStation.
•Realtimeclockandcalendarshowsonthesystemsdisplayandisusedtotimestamp
itemsintheeventlog.

reportthefirealarmtotheCentralStation.

Burglary Protection
Burglaryprotectionisprovidedbyperimeter
andinteriorsensors.Whenthesystemis
armedintheAwaymode,bothperimeter
andinteriorsensorsarearmedandcan
triggeranalarm.Whenthesystemisarmed
intheStaymode,onlytheperimetersensors
arearmedandcantriggeranalarm.
BotharmingmodesofferanExitDelaythat
allowstimetoexitthepremiseswithout
triggeringthealarm.Uponreentry,anEntry
Delayisenabledthatallowsyoutimeto
disarmthesystem.
Youcansetsensorstosoundachimeand/or
avoiceannouncementwhentheyare
triggered.Thisletsyoumonitoryourdoors
andwindowswhilethesystemisdisarmed.

BURGLARY PROTECTION
Whenyoursystemwassetupbyyourinstaller,wirelesssensorswereplacedtomonitor
specificdoorsandwindows.Theinstallerselectedthesedoorsandwindowsaslikelyplaces
whereanunlawfulintrusionmightoccurandcouldbedetected.Eachsensorwas
programmedtohavethesystemreactinaspecificway.See"InstallerProgrammedOptions"
onpage40forspecificsabouteachsensor.
Somesensortypes(suchassmokedetectors,carbonmonoxidedetectors,panicbuttons,etc.)
arealwaysactiveandcantriggeranalarmatanytime.Othersensorsonprotecteddoorsand
windowsarepartoftheburglaryprotectionpartofthesystem,andcanbeturnedonoroff.
Turningontheburglaryprotectionpartofthesecuritysystemiscalled“ArmingtheSystem.
Theburglaryprotectionpartofthesystemcanbearmedintwomodes:StaymodeorAway
mode.

SENSOR STATUS
Thesecuritysystemconstantlymonitorsallofthesensorsattachedtotheprotecteddoors
andwindowsinyourhomeorbusiness.TheControlPanelknowsifeachdoororwindowwith
sensorsisopenorclosed.Theopenorclosedconditionoftheprotecteddoorsandwindowsis
calledthesensorstatus.
Formaximumsecurity,allthedoorsandwindowsonyourpremisesshouldbeclosedwhen
youleavethebuilding.Insomecases,suchaswhenusingthesecuritysystemwhenyoustay
athome,youmaywanttoleavesomedoorsorwindowsopen.Thesystemrecognizes
bypassestoresolvetheopendoorsorwindows.See"Bypassing/UnBypassingSensors"on
page12.
NOTE: Beforeyoucanarmthesystem,youmustcloseorbypassalldoorsandwindows
withsensors.
CHECKING FOR CLOSED SENSORS
Inmostcases,youwillbearmingthesecuritysystemwithallofthesensorprotecteddoors
andwindowsclosed.TheControlPanelprovideseasywaystoverifythatallthesensor
protecteddoorsandwindowsareclosedbeforearmingthesystem:
•TheHomebuttonlightsgreenwhenallperimetersensorsareclosed.The Home
buttonisnotlitifanyperimetersensorisopen.Openinteriorsensorsdonotchangethis
indication.
•TheSecuritybuttononthedisplaysHomescreenlightsgreenwhenallperimetersensors
areclosed.TheSecuritybuttonlightsorangeifanyperimetersensorisopen.Open
interiorsensorsdonotchangethisindication.
•TheArmbuttononthedisplaysSecurityscreenandMenuscreenlightsgreenwhenall
perimetersensorsareclosed.Ifanyinteriorsensorsareopen(orwhenanymotion

SENSOR BYPASSING
Beforethesystemcanbearmed,all
protecteddoorsandwindowsmustbe
closedorbypassed.Youcanbypassopen
sensorsonprotecteddoorsorwindows
beforearmingthesystem.Whenasensoris
bypassed,thesystemignoresthatthedoor
orwindowisopen.Twotypesofsensor
bypassesareavailable:
•Forced
•Manual
Insomecases(suchaswhenusingthe
securitysystemforprotectionwhenstaying
athome)itmaybedesirabletoleavesome
sensorprotecteddoorsorwindowsopen.
Tem porari lybypassingasensorforthisuseis
calledForceBypassing.
NOTE: Forcebypassesare
automaticallyremovedwhenthe
systemisdisarmed.
Sensorbypassingisalsosometimesused
whenasensorrequiresservice.Asensors
magnetmightbemissing,oranexternal
switchcontactconnectedtoasensormight
befaulty,causingthesensortobedetected
asopenbytheControlPanel.Inthese
conditions,youmayneedtoschedulea
servicecallwithyourqualifiedalarmservice
techniciantorepairorreplacethetroubled
sensor.Ifthesecuritysystemneedstobe
armedbeforethesensorcanbeserviced,
thesensorcanbemanuallybypassedsothe
restofthesystemcanbearmed.Depending
onprogramming,manualbypassescan
remaininplaceuntiltheyaremanually
removed.

Force Bypass All Sensors
Ifanysensorsareopenwhenthesystemis
disarmed,theArmbuttononthepanelturns
YELLOW.WhenyoutaptheArmbutton,the
systemautomaticallyrevealstheBypass
screenwhichletsyouarmthesystemwhile
forcingittobypassallopensensors.
Toforcebypassallopensensors:
1Ensureasensorisopen,suchasadoor
orwindow.
2AttheSecurityorMenuscreen,tapthe
YELLOWArmbutton.
3AttheBypassscreen,tapBypassAll.
Thisforcesthesystemtobypassallof
theopensensorsinthelist,including
anyopeninteriorsensors.
4AttheEnterCodescreen,enteravalid
usercodetobypassthesensor.
NOTE: TheQuickBypassfeaturecan
alsobeconfiguredbytheinstaller.

STAY MODE
UseStaymodetopartiallyarmthesystem
whenindividualswillbeoccupyingthe
premises.Thisarmsonlythesensor
protectedperimeterdoorsandwindows.It
leavesinteriormotionsensorsorother
interiordoorsunarmed.Inahomesetting,
Staymodeistypicallyusedduringthe
eveninghourswhenoccupantsarenolonger
expectedtoleaveorenterthepremises.This
allowsoccupantstomoveaboutthe
premiseswithouttriggeringtheburglary
alarm.Becausealltheinteriorburglary
protectionisOFF,analarmwouldonlybe
triggeredwhenasensorprotected
perimeterdoororwindowisopened.
Entry Delay in Stay Mode
Certainsensors,suchasadoor,canbe
configuredbyyourinstallertouseadelay
timerbeforetriggeringanalarm.This
providesawayforanauthorizedperson
returningtoenterusingapredetermined
dooranddisarmthesystembeforeanalarm
istriggered.
ToarmthesystemusinganEntryDelay:
1AttheSecurityorMenuscreen,tapthe
Armbutton.
2AttheReadytoArmscreen,placea
checkmarkintheEntryDelaybox.Thisis

AWAY MODE
Awaymodeisforarmingthesystemwhen
everyoneisleavingthepremises.Away
modearmsallsensorprotectedperimeter
doorsandwindows,interiormotionsensors,
interiorglassbreaksensors,andanyother
sensorprotectedinteriordoors.The
premisesmustbeunoccupiedwhilethe
systemisarmed.Awaymodeistypically
usedforarmingthesystemduringthe
daytimehoursinaresidentiallocation,and
nonbusinesshoursinacommerciallocation.
WhenthesystemisarmedinAwaymode,
youcannotmoveaboutthepremises
withouttriggeringtheburglaryalarm(ifthe
systemisinstalledwithinteriormotion
detectors).Analarmalsooccursifany
sensorprotecteddoororwindowisopened
orglassbreakageisdetected(ifglass
breakagedetectorsareinstalledinyour
system).
Exit and Entry Delays in Away
mode
Certainsensors,suchasadoor,canbesetup
byyourinstallertohaveadelaybefore
triggeringanalarm.Thisprovidesawayfor
anauthorizedpersontoexitandreenterthe
premiseswithouttriggeringanalarm.
ExitDelayallowstimetoleaveafter
armingthesystem.
EntryDelayallowstimetoenterand
disarmthesystembeforeanalarmis
triggered.
Whenarmingthesystemin
Awaymode,anEntryDelay
checkboxisshownonthe
Armingscreen.Bydefault,
thisoptionischecked,sothe
programmeddelaydoorsallowtimefor
disarmingthesystemafterthedooris
opened.IfyoucleartheEntryDelaybox,the
delayedalarmtriggerisremovedfromall
sensorprotecteddoorsprogrammedfor
delay.Thoseentrancesinstantlytriggeran
alarmiftheyareopenedinAwaymode.
NOTE: WiththeEntryDelaydisabled,
youmustremotelydisarmthe
systemwithawirelesskeyfob
beforeentering.
Exit Delay Restart
TheExitDelayRestartoptionextendsthe
ExitDelayonetimeifyouneedtoreenter
thepremises.WiththeExitDelayRestart
option,whenyoureenterthepremises
afteryouhaveleft,butbeforetheExitDelay
timerexpires,theExitDelaytimerrestarts,
givingyouthefulllengthoftimetoleave
again.
TIP: TheExitDelayRestartoptiononlyworks
once,eachtimethesystemisarmed.
Silent Control in Away Mode

theControlPanelorwirelesskeypad,entera
validusercode.Awirelesskeyfobcanalso
beusedtodisarmthesystem.Enteringa
usercodeisnotrequiredwhendisarming
withawirelesskeyfob.
AnimportantfeatureoftheControlPanelis
itsabilitytowarnyouifanalarmhas
occurredwhileyouwereaway.Ifanalarm
wastriggeredwhilethesystemwasarmed,
thealarmsirenrunsforapresetlengthof
timethenstops.Whenyouentertodisarm
thesystem,insteadofsoundingthenormal
EntryDelaybeeps,theControlPanelsounds
repeatedfastbeepstowarnyouthatan
alarmhasoccurredwhileyouwereaway.
Whenyouenteryourhometo
disarmthesystem,ifyouhear
fastrepeatedbeepsinsteadof
thenormalentrydelaybeeps,
