Installing the software of PCI Adapter
1. Select the file CNet Wireless LAN Utility.exe on product CD to install.
The setup program will detect user’s language automatically.
2. You can choose Install driver and CNet WLAN Utility or Install
driver only. Please click the “Next” button to continue.
3. The setup program is ready to begin installation. Please click the
“Install” button.

4. The software installation should begin. This may take a few minutes.
5. Once the installation complete, you may now configure your wireless
network.

Configuring your wireless network (with Wireless Utility)
1. Windows XP users, if you chose “Microsoft Zero Configuration Tool”
during the software installation please skip to page 8.
2. Double click wireless signal icon in your taskbar.
3. It should pop up the Wireless Utility window, then utility shows the
connecting wireless network that connected automatically.

4. Click the “Site Survey” button to the Site Survey page. Click the
“Rescan” button to scan the area for wireless network(s). Once the scan
completed, select the desired wireless network from the list and click
the “Add to Profile” button.

5. Profile window will pop up. Click “Next” button.
6. Make sure your wireless authentication and click “Next” button.
7. Please enter key if you use WEP/WPA-PSK/WPA2-PSK as Authentication
method, and click “Next” button.

8. Check or uncheck “Use Pre-logon Connection”, and click “Next” button.
9. Click the profile and “connect” button, and you will connect the wireless
access point.
10. When you connected the wireless network, the utility will show SSID,
Rate, Channel, IP Address, and Mask.

Configuring your wireless network (with Microsoft Zero
Configuration Tool)
Warning: Due to security reasons, we strongly recommend updating
Windows XP to service pack 3 or above.
1. Please right click the wireless utility icon in taskbar and select “Use Zero
configuration as configuration utility”.
2. Once using Microsoft Zero Configuration Tool to configure wireless
network, Wireless Utility will be can not configure.

Wi-Fi Protect Setup (WPS)
WPS is an easy and secure setup solution for Wi-Fi network. Please click
Profile and Add WPS Profile to enter setup windows. PCI adapter has
two methods, PIN (Pin Input Config) and PBC (Push Button Config), to
setup the network.

Pin Input Config (PIN)
1. Click on the “Pin Input Config (PIN)” button. If you want to connect to a
specific AP, please choose it in WPS AP List. Or please check Auto.
Then please click “next” button.
2. Remember the PIN code, click “next” button, and click “Start PIN”
button.
Note: Every time you click the tab to change the page, the PIN code will
be changed.

3. PCI Adapter is waiting for the AP to establish the connection. Enter the
PIN code into the AP that you want to connect. Enter the PIN code into
client pin number and then clicks the “Start PIN” button.
Note: The PIN function in AP should be started before the WPS setup in
PCI Adapter times out.
4. Once the WPS connected successfully, wireless utility will show the
connection status.

Push Button (PBC)
1. Click “Push-Button Configuration(PBC)” button, click next, and “Start
PBC” button.
2. PCI Adapter is waiting for AP to start the PBC function. The AP should
start the PBC function before PCI Adapter WPS times out.

3. Once WPS connected successfully, Wireless Utility will show the
connection status.

Link Information
Click Link Information, there are three pages, Link Status,
Throughput, and Statistics.

Profile
Click Profile to enter Profile List. In this page, user can Add, Delete, Edit,
Import, Export, and Add WPS Profile.

Advanced
Click Advanced and user can choose Country Region Code and
Certificate Management.

Click About, and it will show Version and MAC Address.

Uninstalling the software
1. Click on your start menu. Next go to “All Programs”. Next go to the
folder “CNet Wireless LAN Utility”. Next select “Uninstall”.
2. The uninstall window should pop up. Click on “Yes” button.
3. The uninstall process may take a few minutes.
