1.3 Initial inspection
General
Before shipment, the ICP-D was inspected and found to be free of mechanical and electrical defects. As soon
as the ICP-D is unpacked, inspect for any damage that may have occurred in transit. Save all packing material
until the inspection is completed. If damage is found, file claim with carrier immediately. The Barco Sales and
the Service office should be notified as soon as possible.
Unpacking
At delivery the ICP-D is packed in a cardboard box. Place the cardboard box on a stable (solid), flat and
insulated support during all the unpacking. Open the box from the top. Remove the ICP-D that is packaged in
an antistatic bag. Check the box content after unpacking.
After unpacking let the ICP-D acclimate to the room temperature which must be higher then 10°C
(50°F) and lower then 35°C (95°F). Neglecting this may result in startup failure of the device.
Save the original shipping cardboard box and packing material, these will be necessary if you ever
have to ship your ICP-D. For maximum protection, repack your ICP-D as it was originally packed at
the factory.
Box content
After unpacking the ICP-D it is recommended to check if all following items where included:
ICP-D assembly
Mechanical check
This check should confirm that there are no broken knobs or connectors, that the front face is free of dents and
scratches, and that the different elements (main board and front face) forms a unified and coherent assembly.
The Barco Sales and the Service office should be notified as soon as possible if this is not the case.
Tamper labels
Prior to installation inspect the tamper labels of the ICP-D assembly. If the tamper labels are damaged please
contact Barco technical support.
The tamper labels are required to provide easy visual indication if the equipment was tampered with. The ICP-
D is tested and labeled for shipping to ensure that the system was not compromised before reaching the
customers final destination.
These tamper labels can be found on top of the ICP-D assembly (reference 1 Image 11). Damaged tamper
labels may indicate an intrusion attempt into the security module of the ICP-D. This should be reported
immediately to the Barco Sales and the Service office.

2.3 ICP-D device certificate
Purpose of the Barco ICP-D device certificate
The device certificate (*. pem) of the Barco ICP-D is a digital certificate signed by Barco which is used in
certificate chain in order to verify if the device is authorized. For example, the device certificate could be used
to obtain licenses or even is exchanged during marriage procedure with external device (e.g. IMB).
The device certificate is stored inside the ICP-D and on a web server. The configuration software can be used
to retrieve the SN (Serial Number) from the ICP-D. To retrieve the device certificate from the website the QR
(Quick Response) code or the SN of the device can be used. See below to locate the QR code and the SN on
the device.
In practice, the user need only the SN of ICP-D to obtain the HDMI2.0_HDR license during installation stage of
the board. This license allows to correctly set EDID (Extended Display Identification Data), the synchronization
protocol of the HDMI. EDID data exchange is a standardized means for ICP-D to communicate its supported
formats (HDR, ...) and other capabilities to a source device (e.g. Blu-ray player). This powerful convenience
feature simplifies system setup for the integrator, helps ensure consistent and reliable image display, and
makes system operation virtually transparent to the end user.
SN number and QR code
The CertID label with the serial number (reference 2) of the device and the QR code (reference 1) which could
be scanned to obtain the device certificate is located on the top of the security module. See procedure
Obtaining the Barco ICP-D certificate, page 24.

of the ICP-D to obtain device certificate. See procedure Obtaining the Barco ICP-D certificate, page 24.
5. Install the new ICP-D into the Card Cage of the projector. See procedure Installing the ICP-D, page 22.
6. If needed, re-install the IMB board in the appropriate location in the Card Cage (just below ICP-D). See
installation procedure provided with the IMB board (3rd party device manual).
7. Clear the security warning/tamper that is automatically raised when a module is removed from the
projector.
Depending the projector series:
On series 2 projector, use an authorization pin code and/or security key to clear the security warning.
See procedure Authorization to clear a security warning on series 2 projector, page 25.
On series 4 projector, use the configuration software with an authorization pin code. See procedure
Authorization to clear a security warning on the projector, page 27.
8. On series 4 projector only, activate the legacy protocol in order to using basic commands such as Light
ON/OFF, Dowser Open/Close, Execute Macro... like as used by third party equipment on Series 2
projectors. See procedure Activate legacy protocol, page 31.
9. (Option) Contact your Barco retailer to obtain the HDMI2.0_HDR license based on the serial number of
ICP-D. Then, use the configuration software to install this license. See procedure Add new license, page
29.
10. Upgrade all software to the latest available version.
Depending the projector series:
On series 2 projector, check if the ICP-D has been correctly updated with the last software version
available (see Checking software version on series 2 projector, page 32). Then, if it is necessary, use
the procedure Series 2 projector software update, page 34 to update the software in a specific
version.
On series 4 projector, check if the ICP-D has been correctly updated with the last software version
available (see Checking software version, page 33). Then, if it is necessary, use the procedure
Software update, page 35 to update the software in a specific version.
11. Use the configuration software to restore clone package created at the begin of this procedure
(recommended).
or
Perform the projector setting by using the configuration software to:
1. load a clone package corresponding to the projector type and related to the chosen configuration (e. g.
