5 Menue Operation
MCTRL R5 features powerful functions and simple operations. Typically, users can
enable the display screen as well as rotation function by completing the first four
steps only. Selectively set other options in the menu to get better display effects.
Step 1 Quick configuration
Operation steps of fast display screen enabling:
1) Supply power to the display screen. If the screen displays normally, go to step 2; if
the screen cannot display normally, load cabinet files first, and then save the files to
the receiving card. Refer to related chapters for specific operations;
2) Enter the sub-menu of Quick Config, and then rotate the knob to respectively
enter other options;
3) Set the row number and column number of a cabinet based on the actual
condition of a display screen;
4) Set the number of cabinets connecting to Port 1. There are limits on connecting
number of ports set by devices. See a) in Note for details;
5) Set cabinets connection type, and refer to c), d), and e) in Notes for Screen Setting
for details.

Notes:
a) If n ports are used
during connection,
the number of
cabinets connecting
to the first (n-1)
ports must be:
1. The same,
2. The integer
multiple of the
number of rows/
columns,
3. No less than the
cabinets connected
to the nth port.
Example:
If all from port 1 to port 8 have been connected, the
number of cabinets connecting to each one from port 1 to
port 7 must be the same, and is the integer multiple of the
row number/column number of cabinets. Therefore, set
the number of cabinets connecting to port 1 based on the
actual situation during screen configuration. The number
of cabinets connecting to port 8 shall not b
e greater than that of cabinets connecting to port 1.
b) For anomalous cabinets with different dimensions, connection software
NovaLCT-Mars is required for display screen configuration;
c) In the process of setting cabinet connection type, rotate the knob to preview
display effects of different cabinet types in real time on the screen. Press the
knob to save the satisfied settings, and press the return key to exit the current
operation with the previewed connection type not being saved;
d) In the process of setting cabinet connection type, make sure that every port
can be connected downwards along the same direction;
e) In the process of setting cabinet connection type, make sure that starting
positions of both Port 1 and the whole connection are the same.
Step 2 Input settings
Users can select the input video source type and set resolution for the input source
as required.
Following two methods can be used to set input resolution:
Method 1: Preset resolution
Select a proper one from the preset resolutions, or use method 2 to customize the
resolution.
Method 2: Custom resolution
Rotate the knob to set the custom width (growing in even numbers), custom height,
and custom refresh rate, choose Apply, and then press the knob to confirm the
setting. If Apply is not enabled, the custom resolution is invalid.
Step 3 Rotation settings
Rotation mode includes port rotation and screen rotation.
Port rotation: specifies the rotation of cabinets connecting to Ethernet ports (For
example, cabinets connecting to Port 1 of LED display screen will rotate according to

the set angle degree of Port 1.).
Screen rotation: specifies the screen rotates for the set angle degree and takes LED
display screen center as the rotation center.
Rotation setting steps are shown as below:
1) Press the knob to enable the rotation function;
2) Perform selection between the port and screen rotation, and set parameters such
as rotation stepping and angle degree;
3) Save parameters. If parameters are not saved, the set parameters are invalid.
4) If the device is restarted caused by power failure, previous rotation effects cannot
be recovered.
Note: Hardware configuration is required to be done before rotation setting.
Step 4 Brightness adjustment
Go back to the main menu, press the knob, select corresponding values of brightness
adjustment menu, and then rotate the knob to adjust brightness values.
Screen configuration
Except quick screen configuraiton, advanced configuration and image offset
configuration can also be done in screen configuraiton.
Advanced configuration
Select Yes and then enter the advance screen configuarion interface. Respectively set
loading capacity for each Ethernet port after selecting startup, and settings include
cabinet rows, cabinet columns, horizontal offset, vertical offset, and screen wiring
method.

Image offset
Horizontal offset and vertical offset of devices' loading image can be set.
Image settings
Normal display: Normally displays contents of current inputs.
Image freezing: Freezes currently displayed contents.
Image black out: Dispaly screen does not display normally and is black out.
Test image: Inclues eight types including full color and line pattern.
Image quality adjustment: Set brightness, color temperature, and Gamma value
for red, green, and blue of images to satisfication as required, and then save the
parameters.
Advanced settings
Advanced setting includes setting options of multiple main functions, and the
following pictures explain each function in details.
Mapping
When mapping function is enabled, each cabinet displays its port number and
cabinet number, and users can visually get the wiring method and loading condition.
Configuration files of connected cabinets
Connect to PC, run NovaLCT-Mars on the PC, and then import the saved
configuration files of cabinets.
1) Save cabinet's configuration files
After configuration of the receiving card, click to save configuration files of
cabinets to PC's local files.

7 Common Problems and Notes
Problem Troubleshooting
LED display screen does not work.
Check whether power supply is connected
correctly and the switch is turned on;
Make sure whether the LED display screen is
connected correctly and can work normally
on the self-test image;
Check whether signals are available for
device input, and whether output is black
out;
Check whether screen configuration method
and parameter configuration are correct.
HDMI signal loading capacity
cannot reach 3840×2160@60Hz. Check whether the graphics card HDMI
interface is subject to the Standard 1.4.
DVI signal loading capacity cannot
reach 3840×1080@60Hz. Check whether the DVI interface is subject
to the VESA Standard.
SDI signal loading capacity cannot
reach 3840×1080@60Hz. Check whether the SDI interface is subject
to the SMPTE ST2081 Standard.
Notes
1) Currently, this product only supports
computer-free configuration for the regular
screen composed of cabinets with the same
size and same specifications; anomalous
cabinets and screens require on-line
configuration;
2) Computer-free configuration and on-line
configuration for the same display screen at
the same time is not recommended;
3) MAP function is supported only by the
receiving card with special model (Only A
serie receiving cards are involved currently.).
Perform troubleshooting according to above steps. In case of insolvable problems,
timely contact local dealers or customer service of the company for help.
There are high-voltage components inside the device, and do not maintain the
processor arbitrarily for your safety.
