Car Stereo DAB Adaptor

Please read theentire instruction manual before using theproduct and then
save it for future reference. We reserve theright for any errors in text or images
and any necessary changes made to technical data. In theevent of technical
problems or other queries, please contact our Customer Services.
Safety
First and foremost, make sure you concentrate on your driving and thetraffic
around you. Be careful when using theproduct if it poses apossible danger
to yourself or others.
Keep thevolume at alevel which enables you to hear sounds outside thecar
such as emergency vehicle sirens.
Theproduct should not be taken apart or modified. Never try to open thecasing.
Do not place theproduct where there is arisk of it falling into water or
other liquid.
Do not place theproduct in constant sunlight or near naked flames such as
wood stoves or lit candles.
Never subject theproduct to high temperature, dust, heavy vibration, impacts,
humidity or moisture.
Protect your hearing. Listening at high volume for prolonged periods can
lead to permanent hearing loss.
Repairs must only be carried out by authorised service personnel and only
using genuine spare parts.
Theproduct must not be used close to medical equipment such as in intensive
care units. Neither should it be used in close proximity to someone with
animplanted pacemaker, cardioverter-defibrillator or similar.
Never use theproduct if it has been damaged in any way.
Never let children play with theproduct.
Product description
DAB+/DAB radio receiver which converts aDAB signal to anFM signal and
sends it wirelessly to thecar stereo.
Equipped with anaudio jack for connection to thecar stereo system via
anaudio cable (included).

Installation
Note: If you are at all unsure about proper installation procedures, seek
theadvice of someone with therequisite knowledge.
1. Plug theDAB adaptor into the12 V socket outlet of thecar and adjust
theangle with thearticulated bracket.

2. Select anarea on thewindscreen
where theself-adhesive antenna will
be placed. Theantenna must be
attached to thepassenger side of
thecar and be earthed at theA-pillar.
Check that theantenna cable is long
enough and that it can reach theDAB
adaptor in such away that thedriver
or passengers do not get caught in it.
Note: If thecar is fitted with
anelectrically heated windscreen,
make sure that theantenna is not
attached to any heating wires.
3. Carefully remove thepanel from
theinside of theA-pillar. Be careful not
to damage air bags and that theclip
fasteners do not break when you
remove them.
4. Clean thearea, on thewindscreen and
on theA-pillar, where theantenna will
be attached and earthed. Check that
thesurfaces are dry.

5. Remove theprotective film from theantenna and theground cable.
6. Securely attach theground cable to theA-pillar and then attach theantenna
to thewindscreen. Note: Once theantenna has been securely fastened
then it is difficult to move it at alater stage.
7. Connect theantenna cable down theA-pillar and in behind thedashboard
to theDAB adaptor.
8. Connect theantenna to theDAB adaptor.
9. Refit thepanel on to theA-pillar.
10. Remove theprotective film from theLCD display.
Operating instructions
Switching on/off
Slide the [ ON/OFF ] switch to theside to turn thedevice on or off.
Searching for DAB radio stations
Press and hold in themultifunction knob for automatic radio station search.
Whilst theradio is searching, “Scanning…” will appear on thedisplay along with
anumber showing how many channels have been found. All stations found
during thesearch will be saved in theDAB adaptors list of stations.
Setting the FM transmitter frequency
1. Press [ Tx ]. Thecurrent FM transmission frequency will be displayed. Turn
themultifunction knob to select avacant FM frequency. For thebest sound
quality try to select afrequency as far from other FM stations as possible.
2. Turn on thecar stereo.
3. Tune in theFM radio of thecar stereo to match thefrequency you set
theDAB adaptor to under step 1.
Selecting a radio station
Turn themultifunction knob to select theradio station that you wish to listen to
from thelist. Confirm by pressing theknob. To exit thestation list, press [ Info/
Menu ] or wait 15 seconds.
Make sure that you always concentrate on your driving and
thetraffic around you.

Display options
Press [ Info/Menu ] repeatedly to display information about thecurrent radio station.
Thefollowing details will appear:
Text messages from theradio station
Channel number and frequency
Type of signal and compression
Data transfer speed and type of broadcast (stereo or mono)
Time and date (set automatically by theradio station)
Signal strength (R) and signal/noise ratio (S).
Settings
Hold in [ Info/Menu ] for 2 seconds to get to thesettings menu. Select afunction
by turning and then pressing in themultifunction knob:
1. Full Scan: Select Yes – theDAB adaptor will automatically search for
available radio stations.
2. DAB Manu Tune: Turn themultifunction knob to change radio station
manually. Push to confirm.
3. Volume: Turn themultifunction knob to adjust thevolume. Push to confirm.
4. Language: Turn themultifunction knob to change thelanguage. Push to confirm.
5. System Reset: Select Yes – to reset theDAB adaptor to its factory default
settings.
6. Version: Displays thecurrent software in theDAB adaptor.
Audio output
If thecar stereo has anaudio input socket for external audio sources (AUX, line-in)
you can use theincluded cable to connect thestereo and theDAB adaptor.
This wired alternative will provide better sound quality than thesound from
thebuilt-in FM transmitter of theDAB adaptor.
1. Connect theDAB adaptor audio jack (6) to thecar stereo using the3.5mm cable.
2. Select AUX/Line-in on thecar stereo (refer to theinstruction manual of your
car stereo).
3. Adjust thevolume of thecar stereo and theDAB adaptor.
Care and maintenance
Clean theexterior of theDAB adaptor by wiping it with adamp cloth.
Use only mild cleaning agents, never solvents or corrosive chemicals.

Troubleshooting guide
Thedevice will
not switch on.
Check to see if there is power at the12 V socket
(that theignition is on).
Test theDAB adaptor in another car.
No sound from
thecar stereo.
Check thevolume of thecar stereo and theDAB adaptor.
Check that theDAB adaptor has found aDAB radio station. If
“NO DAB station” is shown on theLCD screen you should
initiate anautomatic scan for radio stations.
Make sure theantenna is correctly fitted.
See section Installation.
Connected via FM
Check that thecar stereo is set to thesame frequency as
theDAB adaptor.
Connected via audio out jack
Check that thecable is intact and properly connected
to theDAB adaptor audio output socket and to
theAUX/Line-in socket on thecar stereo.
Make sure that thecar stereo is set to AUX/Line-in mode.
Responsible disposal
This symbol indicates that this product should not be
disposed of with general household waste. This applies
throughout theentire EU. In order to prevent any harm to
theenvironment or health hazards caused by incorrect waste
disposal, theproduct must be handed in for recycling so that
thematerial can be disposed of in aresponsible manner.
When recycling your product, take it to your local collection
facility or contact theplace of purchase. They will ensure that
theproduct is disposed of in anenvironmentally sound manner.
