Installation
Aerial
Extend theaerial (14) fully for thebest signal reception.
Theoptimum DAB signal reception is usually achieved when theaerial is vertical.
Connecting the power adaptor
Connect thepower adaptor to theDC IN socket (18) and to a230V wall socket.
Theradio should be unplugged during heavy thunder storms to protect it from
lightning strikes.
When theradio is connected to anelectrical outlet it will first enter standbymode.
Thedisplay will first show “Welcome to Digital Radio”, thereafter thetime will
beshown.
Battery operation
If you like you can run theradio off battery power instead of connecting it to themains
electricity supply (via themains power adaptor).
1. Remove thebattery cover (15) by first sliding it in thedirection of thearrow.
2. Insert 4×AA/LR6 batteries. Observe themarkings in thebattery compartment to
ensure correct polarity.

When battery operated, theon/off button [
] functions as apower switch.
Whentheradio is switched of it does not enter standby mode as when connected to
themains, instead it is completely switched off and thedisplay goesblank.
Note: Remove thebatteries from theradio if it is not to be used for alongtime.
Oldbatteries can begin to leak and damage theradio.
External audio source input socket
If you wish to connect anexternal audio source to theradio such as amobile phone,
MP3 player or DVD player, you can do this by plugging it into theAUX IN socket on
theback of theradio (16).
Listening with headphones
Thespeakers are switched off when headphones are connected.
1. Connect theheadphones to the3.5mm headphone socket (17).
2. Turnthevolume down completely.
3. Puttheheadphones on and carefully increase thevolume to acomfortablelevel.

Make sure that themains adaptor and its lead are
properly connected both to awall socket and theradio.
Is thewall socketlive?
Thebatteries might bedead. Replace if necessary.
If themains adaptor is connected to theradio without
being connected to awall socket theradio will not switch
on even if there batteries init. Disconnect theadaptor.
No sound from

Check thevolume level on both theradio and
theconnected device.
If using Bluetooth
Make sure that theBluetooth connection has been
properly established.

before connectingit.
Things to consider
Other wireless equipment using thesame frequency can
reduce thetransmissionrange.
Therange can also be affected by thetype of obstacles
located between thetransmitter and thereceiver (e.g.
aconcrete wall will interfere with thesignal more than
aplasterboard wall).
If using theAUX IN
Check that thecable connecting thedevice and theradio
is undamaged and properly connected.
Check that thecorrect audio source has been chosen
(Auxiliary Input).
Poor or non-existent
radio reception.
Theautomatic FM
scan doesn’twork.
Make sure that theaerial is fully extended.
Try moving theaerial.
Move theradio to another location.
Thetime and
date are cleared
when theradio is
switchedoff.
Theradio only stores thetime and date during mains
operation. Uponreception of aDAB or RDS signal,
thetime is set automatically.
If theradio is
operating abnormally
in some otherway.
Perform afactoryreset. Referto theFM menu/
DABmenu sectionsabove.

Installation
Antenn
Displayen
visar ”Welcome to Digital Radio”, därefter visas klockan.
Batteridrift
2. Sätt i4×AA/LR6-batterier. Observera märkningen ibatterifacket så att polariteten
blirrätt.

hittade kanalen.
Obs! Ominga radiokanaler hittas under sökningen visas ”No DAB Station”
idisplayen. Därefter återgår radion till att visa DAB-menyn.
