Plug a data cable into the five-pin connector on the transorb board, and
plug the other end into the DATA IN port on the first module.
2. Connect another data cable to the DATA OUT port on the first module
and to the DATA IN port on the second module.
3. Continue to connect a cable to the DATA OUT port of one module and
the DATA IN port of the next module until all control modules in the
enclosure are connected.

When finished, all control modules in each enclosure should be connected
in a string to the first module (top module), which is connected to the tran-
sorb board via the 5-pin connector.

In large installations (more than eight enclosures), or when you have mul-
tiple enclosure locations, you can string enclosures together to reduce the
number of data homeruns to the CCU. While this helps to simplify the
wiring, you should be aware that an early circuit breaker failure in the

LiteTouch number 08-2105-01 wire is recommended for data wiring. It
contains two twisted-pair, 22-gauge wires and an insulated bare shield
wire. The cable is shielded with mylar. The table below shows LiteTouch
wire colors. The cable color used for data wiring is green.

Four-Module Enclosure
CAUTION: Before removing or installing a Transorb board in the Enclosure,
disconnect all the power.
To install the Transorb board do the following:
1. Remove theTransorb board from the anti-static bag .
2. Place the Transorb board in the enclosure.
3. Using the screws supplied, screw the Transorb board into the Enclosure with a Phillips head
screwdriver.
Grounding Procedure
To avoid damage from electrostatic discharge (ESD) when handling boards, use a grounding
strap as shown below:
Observe the following precautions to prevent ESD discharge damage:
1. Use an approved ESD wrist grounding strap or an approved wrist or ankle strap. Ensure
the grounding strap makes good skin contact.
2. Before installing or removing a Savant Transorb board, connect the clip end of the ground
strap to a grounded surface.
If you plan to return a replaced Transorb board to Savant Systems LLC: While wearing the
grounded strap, place the board in the anti-static bag that it was originally shipped in or any
static shielding bag to avoid ESD damage to the board.
NOTE: The wrist strap only protects the component from ESD voltages on the body; ESD
voltages on clothing can still cause damage.
CAUTION: Keep these wires on their respective side of the enclosure. Do not
cross over or under the voltage barrier with wires.
