CARE AND USE
To begin using your new King Kutter shredder, follow the simple instructions listed below:
1. If Suction Cup Base: Position base assembly on work surface and push lever down to establish suction
cup firmly in place.
If Clamp Base: Affix clamp to side of table and firmly tighten.
2. Surface being used for the machine must be a non-porous type such as formica.
3. Place hopper onto the base assembly.
4. Attach cone – place center hole in cone on center pin of disk. Turn clockwise to engage disk lugs in six
holes in cone. To remove the cone, reverse procedure.
The King Kutter is a precision built, soundly engineered piece of equipment that will actually save you more than it
costs within the first year of use. The micro-keen cutting cones are nickel and chrome plated for everlasting beauty
and protection. Under normal use, your cutting cones should provide you a lifetime of trouble-free service without
dulling or rusting.
On occasion, scrub the bottom of the rubber briskly with cleanser pad to eliminate any residue that has collected to
the rubber. This will help to ensure a strong seal to the non-porous countertop and reduce the risk of slipping.
CAUTION:
Do not leave cutting cones in water. It is preferable to wash cutting cones in hot water
immediately after use and leave to dry separately – or dry carefully with a soft cloth.
!
CAUTION:
Do not stack cones together when wet.
!
CAUTION:
Do not immerse the hopper in water as it destroys the oil in the sealed bearing.
Carefully wipe with a damp cloth to clean.

CONES
Following are the various cone attachments available for use with your King Kutter appliance.
CONE #1
Use the shredder for any food that you desire shredded very fine, or for
grating any hard foods such as hard cheese, dry bread, crackers and nuts.
Beets, Carrots, Turnips or Potatoes – do not peel. The most plentiful
amounts of mineral salts and vitamins are contained in the skins or just
under the skins. The shredder blade will prepare the food so that peeling
or scraping is unnecessary.
Crackers, Dry BreadFill hopper full and grate, cutting on edges of food.
Use crumbs for icebox pies, fish or oysters.
Celery – Shredded celery is excellent for soup or salad dressings. Place
string side to hopper.
Frozen Foods – Shred frozen fruits while still frozen for sundaes, desserts,
etc. Be amazed at the wonderful new taste.
CONE #2
Julienne Potatoes – Do not peel any potato to be fried. Cook Julienne or
shoestring potatoes for 90 seconds in cooking oil until they are a beautiful
golden brown.
Onions – Cut onions in half for best results, placing outside of onion next
to cutter.
Carrots – Don’t peel carrots. Just cut into shoestrings for salad and
waterless cooking.
Soft CheeseCut soft cheese into macaroni size which is perfect for
salads or cooking. Cheese cut this way may be used for flavoring other
dishes and approximately 20% less is needed due to the increased volume
when evenly and finely cut.
Apples – To peel apples or other fruits, place peeling side to hopper to add
more color. Serve apple with peel left on for a more healthful, appetizing
and eye-appealing dish. Use half an apple at a time.
CONE #3
French Fried Potatoes – The French Fry Cutter No. 3 is designed for
potatoes and other firm vegetables which you may desire to cut into “Demi
French Cuts.” The perfect size for fast cutting.
Carrots – It cuts carrots perfectly for waterless cooking, as well as turnips.
And the No. 3 Cutter is the one to use for beets when you want to prepare
them for canning.
Fruits – Fresh pears, apples, peaches or melons can be an attractively
prepared. Apples are excellent for Waldorf salads and apple pies. Each
apple slice will have an eye-catching red tip for decoration.
Melons – Cut melons, papayas and avocados into quarters or eighths and
feed them into the hopper with skin away from cutter.

CONES (CONT’D)
CONE #4
Radishes, Carrots – Fill hopper full of radishes and press firmly with
protective hand cover. For carrot curls, lay carrot flat across cutter and
press firmly with protective hand cover.
Onions – For hamburger or sandwiches where very thin slices are desired.
Also for frying. Best results are obtained if onion is cut in half and round
side or outside is placed next to cutter.
Pickles – Ideal for slicing pickles for hamburger, sandwiches or canning.
Sauerkraut – Prepare same as cole slaw. This cutter is the fastest and
finest kraut cutter ever built.
Slaw – The proper cut for cole slaw is delicate, lacy shreds which the No. 4
Cutter will give you. Cut cabbage in halves and remove the heart (which
you can cut with Shredder No. 1). Cut a large cabbage into quarters.
Always cut the cabbage against the grain and cutting into the side – not
into the leafy back side.
CONE #5
Potatoes – Do not peel. Just cut and fry in cooking oil to a golden brown.
Sweet potatoes, which must first be peeled, are also excellent when
waffled.
Apples – Cut apples in halves and remove core. Do not peel. Makes
beautiful apple slices – ringed with waffle-red – for pies, fruit salads or
apple-cabbage salad. When garnishing, place slices around the salad, red
side up.
Beets – Do not peel for cooking. Slice peeling and all, cook and butter.
For pickled beets, slice cooked beets and pickle. Excellent for canning.
Bananas – Slice for fruit salads. Fast and attractive.
Carrots – Do not peel. Slice with waffler, cook and season. Very
decorative for salads.
