1 Introduction
TheMETTLERTOLEDOInPro
®
325X(i)pHsinglerodmeasuringcell
is a low maintenance, autoclavable and pressure resistant pH
electrodewithapre-pressurisedliquidelectrolyteandareference
electrolytetogetherwithasilverionsbarrier.Pleasereadthrough
these operating instructions carefully before commissioning, in
order to ensure trouble-free use. We recommend that you only
operate the electrode in conjunction with original parts from
METTLERTOLEDO.Operationandmaintenanceshouldbecarried
out only by trained personnel and staff who have read and
understoodtheoperatinginstructions.
2 Safetyinstructions
Whencleaningorcalibratingtheelectrodeusingsolutionscontaining
acids or alkalis both protective spectacles and protective gloves
shouldbeworn.Donottouchtheelectrodeattheplug-incontacts,
sinceelectrostaticdischargescandamagetheelectronics.

4 Installationandcommissioning
1.While unpackingcheckthe electrodefor mechanical damage.
PleasereportanydamageimmediatelytoyourMETTLERTOLEDO
supplier.
2.Remove the protectivecap and rinse the electrodefora short
timewithdeionisedwater.Carefullyremovethesiliconprotection
fromthediaphragmwiththeaidoftheknifesupplied(cf.green
instruction images on the packaging). If the electrode has
already been used the sensitive part can be cleaned if
necessarywithasofttoothbrushandamildsoapsolution,and
thenrinsedforashorttimewithdeionisedwater.Afterrinsing
the electrode should only be dabbed. Any rubbing of the
pH-sensitiveglasscanincreasetheresponsetime asaresult
ofelectrostaticchargeaccumulation.
3.CheckthespacebehindthepHsensitiveglassforairbubblesand
remove any air bubbles that may be present by shaking the
electrodelightlyinaverticaldirection.
