Insert exhaust manifold 2

(81B) – marked with “R2”

– into hole “2” in the right

cylinder head (78A). Ensure

that the curved end of the

manifold is fully inserted into

the cylinder head.

Find where the exhaust manifolds go –

numbered 1-4 in the photo – on the right

cylinder head (78A).

Insert exhaust manifold 1 (81A) – marked with

“R1” on the end – into hole “1” in the right

cylinder head. Ensure that the curved end of

the manifold is fully inserted into the cylinder

head, as shown in the photo.

Attach the hose (81E) to the

linchpin on the inside of the

right-hand side of the front

axle subframe (71A). Ensure

that the linchpin is fully

inserted into the hose.

Attach one of the exhaust pipe

connectors (83A) to the four left-

hand exhaust manifolds. Insert

the ends of the manifolds into the

holes in the connector, as shown

in the photo. Press the connector

rmly into place.

STEP 83-3

Attach the dual exhaust pipe

(83B) to the exhaust pipe

connectors (83A). Insert the

linchpins on the end of the

exhaust pipe into the holes in

the connectors and press rmly

into place. The hole in the cross

bar on the exhaust must

be aligned with the

linchpin on the top

of the gearbox.

STEP 83-2

Now attach the second connector

(83A) to the right-hand exhaust

manifolds. Insert the ends of the

manifolds into the holes in the

connector.

Attach one of the spark plug wires

(84B) to one of the eight outer

linchpins on the cap of the distributor

(84A). Ensure it completely covers the

linchpin. Now attach the other wires to

the same side as the rst. Note that the

central linchpin must remain free.

A THOROUGHBRED THROUGH AND THROUGH

The Ford GT40 is a racing beast, a thoroughbred racing car, as demonstrated by its countless

victories on the circuits over the years. The engine of your model is an exact reproduction of the

4.9-litre engine of the GT Mk 1 that won the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1969.

This model is a perfect reproduction of the

GT40, thanks to the miniature reproduction of

the car’s details, both inside and out.

Now position the distributor

(84A) on the engine block.

Ensure that all of the spark

plug wires are inside the

engine, as shown in the

photo. Secure the distributor

to the base with one FD01

screw.

STEP 85-2

Attach one of the spark plug wires (85A) to one

of the free outer linchpins on the distributor

(84A). Now attach the remaining wires. Now

that the ignition switch wire and eight spark

plug wires are all in place, the distributor is

complete.

Get the distributor (84A) you

received with the previous

pack. Attach the ignition

switch wire – the shortest of

the wires you received with

this pack – to the central

linchpin on the distributor,

pressing it rmly into place.

Find the connection points for

the spark plug wires in the

left cylinder head (76A) - as

shown - and the right cylinder

head (78A). These four small

terminals – numbered in the

photo – are located near the

base of the manifold. Divide

the wires into two groups

of four, leaving the ignition

switch wire (85B) in the

middle.

Now feed the other

three wires on the

right side through

the manifolds and

attach them to the

free terminals.

Take one of the back wires (84B) from the right

side and feed it through the manifolds. Now

attach the wire to the furthest terminal, in this

case the one closest to the wheel.

the left side to the

terminals on the left

cylinder head (85A).
