Interfaces
1 console port
2 USB ports (reserved)
2 combo interfaces. A combo interface is a logical
interface that contains one 1000BASE-X SFP fiber
port and one 10/100/1000Base-T copper port.
The two ports share one interface view and cannot
work simultaneously. When you use the combo
enable { copper | fiber } command to enable one
port, the other port is disabled automatically.
CAUTION:
Keep the dust plug installed on the unused SFP port.
Ambient temperature
Operating: 0°C to 45°C (32°F to 113°F)
Storage: –40°C to +70°C (–40°F to +158°F)
Ambient humidity
Operating: 10% RH to 95% RH, noncondensing
Storage: 5% RH to 95% RH, noncondensing

5 Installing and removing the card
CAUTION:
Wear a reliably-grounded ESD wrist strap before you install or remove the firewall card.
Do not touch the components on the PCB.
The slots on the H3C S10500 switches are either horizontally oriented or vertically oriented. When
installing the card in a horizontal slot, make sure its PCB faces up. When installing the card in a vertical
slot, make sure its PCB faces left.
This section uses a vertically oriented card to describe the installation and removal procedures.
5.1
Installing the card
1. Remove the blank panel from the slot for the card at the front of the switch.
This manual uses slot 9 as an example.
2. Place the card vertically with the surface-mounted components facing left. Pull outward the ejector
levers and gently push the card in along the slot guide rails until the card is in close contact with
the backplane.
3. Push the ejector levers inward.
4. Tighten the captive screws with a Phillips screwdriver to secure the card in the slot.

v

5.2
Removing the card
1. Use a Phillips screwdriver to loosen the captive screws at both sides of the card until all pressure
is released.
2. Pull the ejector levers at both sides of the card outward, and pull the card along the guide rails until
it completely comes out of the backplane.
3. Place the card on an anti-static workbench with the surface-mounted components up, or put it in an
anti-static bag.
4. If no new card is to be installed, install a filler panel to prevent dust and ensure good ventilation in
the switch.
6 Software upgrade
The LSUM1FWCEAB0 card has an independent operating system and CLI. To upgrade the card
software, you must access its CLI or Boot menu after logging in to the card through its console port or
management Ethernet port. For information about upgrading the LSUM1FWCEAB0 firewall card, see the
release notes.
