Overview
The AC2500 AC-input and DC-output power module provides a
maximum output of 2500 W. The available model is NSQM1AC2500.
It has the following features:
It has protection against undervoltage input, overvoltage input,
overvoltage output, output short circuit, undercurrent output,
overcurrent output, and overtemperature.
It is hot swappable. You can install and remove the power
module on an operating device.
It can operate in N+1 or N+N redundancy. For more information,
see "Power module configuration."
NOTE:
The power module shuts down automatically when its
temperature exceeds the acceptable range. When the
temperature returns to the acceptable range, the power module
restarts automatically.

Power module configuration
Follow these guidelines to configure power modules for a device:
Determine the required number of power modules based on the
actual power consumption, the power module slot number, and
power redundancy design.
Determine the power module redundancy design based on the
power source conditions.
{ When two mains power inputs are provided, you can
configure the power modules in N+N redundancy. N+N must
be not greater than the total number of power module slots.
{ When one mains power input is provided, you can configure
the power modules in N+1 or N+N redundancy. N+1 or N+N
must be not greater than the total number of power module
slots.
{ For easy usage and maintenance, configure a circuit breaker
for each power input. The rated current of the circuit breaker
must be greater than 20 A.

Installing and removing the power
module
CAUTION:
Do not install the AC2500 power module and other types of
power modules on the same device.
The power module slots are either vertically or horizontally oriented,
depending on the device model. The power module installation and
removal procedure is similar for vertical and horizontal power module
slots. The figures in this section are for illustration only.
Installing the power module
To avoid bodily injury and device damage, follow the procedure
in Figure 2 to inst
all the power module.
7
Figure 2 Installation flow
NOTE:
If the power module slot does not have a blank panel, skip the
"Remove the blank panel" procedure.
Before installing the power module, prepare an ESD wrist strap and a
Phillips screwdriver.
Installing the power module
1. Wear an ESD wrist strap, and make sure the wrist strap makes
good skin contact and is reliably grounded.
2. Use the Phillips screwdriver to loosen the captive screw on the
blank panel in the target slot, and remove the blank panel.
3. Take the power module out of the package.
8
4. Correctly orient the power module. The blank panel is printed
with a diagram of correct installation direction. Follow the
direction to orient the power module.
5. Holding the handle of the power module with one hand and
supporting the bottom with the other, push the power module
into the slot along the guide rails.

6. Press the handle back into the notch of the power module.
7. Use the Phillips screwdriver to fasten the captive screw on the
handle to secure the power module in the slot.

Connecting the power cord
WARNING!
Make sure each power cord has a separate circuit breaker.
Turn off the circuit breaker before connecting the power
cord.
To connect the power cord:
1. Insert the AC power cord plug into the power receptacle on the
power module.
2. Use a removable cable tie to secure the power cord to the cable
management bracket.
The cable management bracket position varies by switch model.
Route the power cord as required.

slot)
3. Connect the other end of the power cord to an AC power
receptacle of the power source, and turn on the circuit breaker.
4. Verify that the power input status LED is ON. If the LED is on,
the power cord is correctly connected. If the LED is OFF,
troubleshoot the installation process.
Removing the power module
To avoid device damage and bodily injury, follow the procedure
in Figure 8 to
remove the power module.
12
Figure 8 Removal flow
Before removing the power module, prepare an ESD wrist strap and
a Phillips screwdriver.
Removing the power cord
1. Turn off the circuit breaker of the power cord.
2. Wear an ESD wrist strap, and make sure the wrist strap makes
good skin contact and is reliably grounded.
3. Remove the cable tie, and pull the power cord plug out.
Removing the power module
CAUTION:
Before you insert a removed power module into a power module
slot, make sure the LEDs on the power module are off.
13
1. Use the Phillips screwdriver to loosen the captive screw on the
power module.
2. Hold the captive screw and pull out the handle of the power
module.
3. As shown in Figure 9, gr
asp the handle of the power module
with one hand and pull it part way out of the slot. Support the
bottom of the power module with the other hand, and pull the
module slowly out of the slot along the guide rails.
