Operation
1. Removethebatterysafetystripfromthebatterycompartmenttopowerthemeter.Seethe
Maintenancesectionforbatteryreplacementinstructions.
2. RemovetheprotectiveadhesivecoverfromtheLCDdisplay.
3. Selectthetemperatureunits(C/F)usingthetemperatureswitchonthebackofthemeter.
4. Positionthe
meterinthedesiredindoorareaandruntheexternaltemperatureprobeto
outsideareaofinterest.
5. Theupperdisplayindicatesindoortemperature.Thelowerdisplay,outdoortemperature.
MAX/MINReadings
1. Thismeterdisplaysthemaximumandminimumreadingsstoredovertime.Torecordand
viewthereadings:
a. PresstheMAX/MINbutton.Thedisplayshowsthehighestandlowestindoor
temperaturesmeasuredsincetheRESETbuttonwaslastpressed.TheMAXandMIN
iconsappearnexttotheirrespectivereadings.
b. PresstheMAX/MINbuttonagain.Thedisplayshowsthehighestandlowestoutdoor
temperaturesmeasuredsincetheRESETbuttonwaslastpressed.TheMAXandMIN
iconsappearnexttotheirrespectivereadings.
c. PresstheMAX/MINbuttonagaintoreturntonormaloperation,theMAX and MINicons
willswitchoff.
2. TocleartheMAX/MINreadings,shortpresstheRESETbuttonwhileintheMAX/MINmode.
Whenreset,theMAX/MINreadingswillshowdashesandthemeterwillbeginrecordingnew
MAX/MINreadings.YoucaneraseindoorandoutdoorMAX/MINmemoriesindependently.

Shortpressthe<+>button(backofmeter)toactivate/deactivatetheoutdoortemperature
alarm.ThealarmbelliconwillappearontheLCDwhenthealarmisactive.
7. Whenthemeasuredoutdoortemperaturereachesthehighorlowtemperaturelimit,the
buzzerwillsoundforone(1)minute.Pressthe
MAX/MINorRESETbuttontosilencethe
buzzerbeforethe1minuteintervalelapses.
8. Afteranalarmhasbeensilencedeitherbybuttonpressor1minutetimeout,youhaveto
pressthe<+>buttontoswitchoffthealarmbelliconandthenpressthe<+>buttonagainto
reenablethealarm,otherwisethealarmwillbedisabledeventhoughthealarmbelliconis
displayed.
*Notes:
Thealarmisadjustableinincrementsof1.0°Cand1.8°F.
Ifnobuttonsarepressedforapproximately7secondswhileprogrammingthehighandlow
alarmlimits,the
meterwillautomaticallyreturntothenormaloperating mode.
Maintenance
BatteryReplacement
Replacethe1.5V‘AAA’batterylocatedintherearcompartmentasexplainedbelow.
1. Opentherearbatterycompartmentbypushingthebatterycompartmentcoverdownward,
asindicatedbythearrow.
2. Removetheoldbatteryandreplacewithnewbatteryobservingcorrectpolarity.
3. Closethecompartmentcoverbeforeuse.
Safety:Pleasedisposeofbatteriesresponsibly,neverdisposeofbatteriesinafire,batteriesmay
explodeorleak.Whenstoringthemeterfor60daysormore,removethebatteryandstore
separately.
Neverdisposeofusedbatteriesorrechargeablebatteriesinhouseholdwaste.
Asconsumers,usersarelegallyrequiredtotakeusedbatteriestoappropriatecollection
sites,theretailstorewherethebatterieswerepurchased,orwhereverbatteriesaresold.
Disposal:Donotdisposeofthisinstrumentinhouseholdwaste.Theuserisobligatedtotake
endoflifedevicestoadesignatedcollectionpointforthedisposal
ofelectricalandelectronic
equipment.
