1. Make sure the system and all other peripheral devices connected to it has been powered-
off.
2. Disconnect all power cords and cables.
3. The mounting screws at the front panel and rear panel of the system are used to secure
the cover to the chassis. Remove these screws then put them in a safe place for later use.

Remove the 10 mounting screws (including those of the COM and VGA ports) at the rear
panel.

5. Slide the top cover backward then remove it from the chassis.
4. Remove the rear panel.

6. The SATA drive bay is readily accessible after removing the top cover from the chassis.
You must remove the drive bay in order to access the SODIMM socket and CompactFlash
socket.

Installing a SODIMM
1. Remove the EXT-USB1 card.

2. Remove the 4 mounting screws that secure the SATA drive bay to the chassis.

4. During the installation process, give special attention to the arrangement of the cables
making sure they don't obstruct ports and connectors.
3. The SODIMM socket is located beneath the EXT-USB1 card area.

5. Note the key on the socket. The key ensures the module can be plugged into the socket in
only one way.
6. Grasping the module by its edges, position the module to the socket at an approximately
30 degrees angle. Note that the socket and module are both keyed, which means the
module can be plugged into the socket in only one direction.
7. Insert the module by applying rm even pressure to each end of the module until it slips
downintothe socket.Thecontact ngersontheedgeofthemodulewillalmostcomplete-
ly disappear inside the socket.

8. Push down the module until the clips on each side of the socket lock into position. You will
hear a distinctive “click”, indicating the module is correctly locked into position.

Installing a CompactFlash Card
1. With the CompactFlash card’s label facing up, position the card to the socket.
2. Insert the card until it is completely seated in the socket.

Installing a SATA Drive
1. Secure the SATA drive bay back in place using the mounting screws you removed earlier.
2. Place the SATA drive on the drive bay and then connect the drive to the SATA data and
SATA power connectors.

3. Secure the SATA drive by fastening screws on both sides of the drive.

Connecting the Power Adapter
1. The system package comes with a power cord holder. The holder is used to stabilize the
power cord so as to prevent it from getting loose when accidentally pulled or moved.
2. Insert the power cord holder into the holder's mounting hole.

3. Unhook (open) a side of the holder.

4. Plug the power cord into the 12V DC-in jack. Allow the cord to go through the holder then
hook (close) it to secure the cord inside the holder.

5. Connect the other end of the power adapter to an electrical wall outlet or surge protector.
6. Press the power button to power-on the system.

Connecting the Mini-DIN Cable
1. The system package comes with a mini-DIN cable. Connect the cable to the PS/2 port.
2. Connect the other ends of the cable with a PS/2 keyboard and a PS/2 mouse.

Wall Mounting Instructions
Installing the Mounting Rails
1. The system package comes with 2 mounting rails.
2. Use the provided mounting screws to mount the mounting rails on each side of the sys-
tem.

Installing the Wall Mount Screws
1. You will need 4 steel screws with a diameter of 0.138" (3.5 mm).
2. Drill four holes into the wood studs or concrete wall.
3. Insert a screw into each hole and leave 2mm of its head exposed.

Place the wall-mount slots over the screws and slide the Embedded System down until the
screwstsnuglyintothewall-mountslots.
Horizontal Mount
Place the wall-mount slots over the screws and slide the Embedded System down until the
