DIODE LED DAZZLE® RGB Installation guide

  • Hello! I've reviewed the installation guide for the DAZZLE series LED tape light, specifically the DI-24V-DRGB-** model. This document contains important information about safety, handling, and installation procedures for both dry and wet location applications, including system diagrams for different setups. I'm ready to answer any questions you may have about using this product.
  • Can the tape light be connected directly to high voltage power?
Can the tape light be powered while still on the spool?
Is the tape light suitable for wet locations?
What is the maximum run length?

WARNING
Install in accordance with naonal and local electrical code regulaons.
This product is intended to be installed and serviced by a qualied,
licensed electrician.
This product must be powered with a compable Class 2 DC Constant
Voltage LED driver (power supply).
DO NOT power tape light while aached to plasc spool or ghtly coiled.
Excess heat may melt the spool and/or cause damage to the xture.
DO NOT install in locaon where LED chips are exposed to direct
sunlight or damage to the phosphor will occur.
Ensure applicable wire is installed between driver, xture, and any
controls in between. When choosing wire, factor in voltage drop,
amperage rang, and type (in-wall rated, wet locaon rated, etc.).
Inadequate wire installaon could overheat wires, and cause a re.
Tape light, aached wire leads, and addional extension cables,
connectors, etc., are not rated for in-wall installaon unless otherwise
noted. Use wires rated for at least 176°F (80°C) and cered for use
with external connecon of electrical equipment.
Connectors have a Class 2 amp limit unless otherwise noted.
Each tape light has a dierent power consumpon rang and maximum
run length that must be individually wired to a compable low voltage
(PWM) control or DMX decoder. Refer to tape light package label or
spec sheet for more informaon.
Only wet locaon tape light models are rated for outdoor / wet
locaons. See package label for environment rangs.
Tape light must be handled with care. Excessive handling, bending, and
pressure may damage the product, voiding the warranty.

Cut the tape at the line indicated with the scissors icon. Close the CLICKTIGHT™ latch to ensure connecon.
When ready for mounng, peel o the 3M™ adhesive backing
of the tape and tear o along the connector tray edge. Mount
tape light and ulize a wiring harness to secure lead wires.
Open the CLICKTIGHT™ latch and note the +/- polarity markings.
Firmly insert the tape light into the connector tray with the
3M™ adhesive backing sll intact to the tape. Ensure the
contact/solder points of the tape are directly underneath the
metal placement tabs of the connector.

Prior to troubleshoong, ensure all items are a compable system and main power is turned ON.
TROUBLESHOOTING
Shi in brightness and/or kelvin
Review maximum series run limits. Exceeding these limits will cause
excess voltage drop, decreasing brightness and/or kelvin as the run is
extended.
Some LEDs are not funconal
Ensure all connecons have been properly aached. Ensure xture has
not been bent excessively, which may cause components and solder to
detach from the circuit board.
Lights are ickering
Ensure a compable driver is installed. Ensure the pre-set mode of the
controller is not on a dynamic mode. Ensure Data +/- connecons of
DMX systems are not reversed. If lights connue to icker, check for
loose connecons. Ensure tape light connectors are properly aached.
Lights are turning on/o repeatedly Ensure driver is not overloaded. An overloaded driver will trip the
internal auto-reset (of driver) repeatedly, turning the system on/o.
CLICKTIGHT™ Connector Troubleshoong
Ensure compable CLICKTIGHT™ models are aached. Tape lights vary
in width and require specic connectors. Contact your supplier for
addional informaon.
Tape light is polarity sensive. Ensure the +/- markings of the CLICKTIGHT™
connector is aligned with the +/- markings of the tape. If polarity is
backwards, reverse the lead wire connecon or detach tape from
CLICKTIGHT™ connector and reaach opposing end of tape to connector.
